im i the only one who watched that scene with the argument between peter and natalie, peters way of helping her get past it? he loves her and he knows she loves him but wont give up her family for him so getting her to hate him makes her decision justified
@DoctorWhoAwsomness As in turning out to be an absolute bastard in the end...basically a watered-down equivalent to his character in "Secret Smile." He is a brilliant actor, and he is good at being bad, let's just say that XD

I've watched that scene between Peter and Natalie several times and I just keep thinking, "What did she expect? What did she think he was gonna say? Gee, it's OK, break my heart and go back to your slimy husband, I'll be fine, we'll just be buddies, no problem." Oy! Of course he's hurt and angry and just a bit nasty. She just ripped his heart out!
@KittyNightfox The only problem with that being that he knew what he was getting himself into when he started fooling around with a married woman. He got himself in this trouble, he knew she was married and had children. There was always a small possibility that she was going to stay with her husband. The word we're searching for here is, "DUH."
u know what i absalutly love david and his charactor but WHEN HE SAID THAT! i would have been soooo heart broken still love david (ovbiously) but his charactor for that split second im afraid i went of him! im back on him again now though...oh that sounds a bit wrong lol xxxxx
Ripley has just become human. I hated him all along unti the speech.
But Peter is not cruel as he may seem.
If he didn't love Natalie, he wouldn't have done what he have done. He would have insisted and got Ripley, or just vanished.
Maybe ha was just angry, or maybe he didn't want her to suffer for a lost chance, but surely he is not the ruthless schemer it may look like.

Oh my god it's so sad at the start of this part!
You think you'd never feel bad for ripley as he can be so mean but then he gives his wife a speech like that and your heart just cracks.
