Great tone, meticulous playing. That's fine if you want an exact cover, butt I wouldn't call somebody "wrong" for adding their own flair and putting some heart into a blues song. That's how blues exists.Of all the versions I've heard, I like Muddy Waters' version in G the best.
Okay, okay, there's all kinds of good comments on here already, but take this from a guy who has played his guts out hour after hour trying to figure things out, with no one to point the way or to show me a lick or two, so I need to say thanks. When you live in a small town, knowledge was had to come by before the internet and the good people like you who are kind enough to share. Boy do I get a kick out of this! So that's how you do it! The learning curve has shot skyward, finally!
Holy Moly...not sure how I missed this one last month!!!!!!! Outstanding!!!!!! Well, I guess I have figured out what I am doing this weekend now...learning this. I will have to find some way to dodge the "honey-do" list first. Outstanding job Sam!
Just curious if you ever have the 'itch' to play in front of a crowd? And being compensated of course. It's kinda' like recreational flying, most of it is done alone, but a pilot always enjoys taking a passenger up.
I am 62, a retired cop after being injured and when I watch you play, I am now running for publice office and might actually win. I have the utmost respect for your talent. I know it had to take years and years of practice. I would equate that with the skill of a surgen. Everything is so pure. How did you get there. I play and get frustated when I watch someone like you play. If you don't mind, what are the secrets, besides hard work. You are one of the great ones. Take care, Buzz
Sam, thanks ever so much. My dad who is now 66 heard it and had a bit of a breakdown, as I did because this was one of the songs at my Bar Mitzvah back in the day.
MTG ................ isn't it about time to bite the bullet and let us hear you sing a few bars of a favorite song to go along with the playing... ? don't be shy ... if I missed it point me in the right direction. Thanks for all your videos. mike
What a wonderful talent. At times it's depressing because at my age to achieve what you have would be a stretch. None-the-less I never miss one of your performances.
Always ... a perfect sound from you my friend. I am from Brazil ... and whatever other people ... you are a wonderful guitar player. My friend I have just one question. Where do you get your backing track sound ? Are they without the guitar and you play the guitar ? I am always looks for backing track but they are not original almost always Midi "electronic" files. Tks in advance Red.
hi from France you'r really perfact and your sound is terrible tha'st i try to find with my guitars , i usually like ti play some Shadows song , APACHE, DANCE ON etc
thank you again for another fantastic video. the mix of your guitar and the backing track sounds amazing, could you make a video about your gear & software and how you record your videos?i´d really appreciate it, thanks
Wow.I thought this was a Ted Nugent song.I didn't know he ripped it off.Very friggin cool Sam.Killer lesson.Great addition to the collection of BadAss Twang videos.
I played that in F for twenty years and you play in E and it now all makes sense to me. Like all the planets are aligned OM!! MyTwangyGuitar you are Awesome!!!
Fantastic!!! Great job! I've been wanting to learn this song for a while now. So, thanks for taking the guess work out of the equation. I always enjoy looking at and listening to your orange Tele.
Another amazing performance! Sam you indeed continue to nail these songs down and show us how to do it. Thanks again for all the time you invest in the production of these great videos.
@try2bcool There comes a stage when a direct connection between your head and hands occurs. Your hands just know what to do. It generally takes a squillion hours of practise or so I've been led to believe ;-) Figuring the song out without the help of tabs helps a lot as well.
I did not know Jimmy Page did the lead on the song them guys did in the 60's. Great guitar work Eric, and thanks for that close-up lesson!!! Jeon Leon
Wow, this is sweet Sam!!! I've always loved this song, now i can try to do it...try being the key word. Nice video to wake up to this Sunday mourning.
I will try my best to learn this song or at least some licks from your video.
The close up of your guitar neck is gorgeous! It looks like birds-eye maple. It must play really smooth, judging by the way you move over the fretboard.
Great Job Sam!
