@RedShonja Sometimes called a "startie-stoppie" piece; it's a just a scrap you place at the beginning and end of sewing each time. It catches the top thread and bobbin thread so the actual piece you want to sew doesn't get any "bird's nest" threads on the underside. You don't have to hold onto the bobbin thread each time you start to sew on your intended piece. Additionally, it comes in handy if you're doing chain stitching; you don't have to cut your thread each time & it saves on thread.
Great video, but it would've been much clearer if the camera had moved to the other side of the sewing machine sooner so that we can clearly see when the next strip was put together on the sewing machine bed. This would also get a closer view of the stitching from the sewer's/quilter's point of view.
its is good but I would like to know what if you are using extra found fabric to make the tape. not all can be in the bias. Any tips or ideas?
