I agree with everything he said here except the last bit when he said, "you enter the domain of spirit". This can only be true if your belief prior to meditation is to connect with spirit, otherwise you just enter a state of mental blankness or void. It is just like hypnosis but there is no real external noise to distract your trance state.
I love these videos, thank you for posting, meditation has great benefits, even if you do not believe in it, or know how it works. Accept that it does and just do it.
In times of stress and no time to meditate, do it twice as long.

Ummmmm,,, if meditation is like he says, achieving a completely thoughtless state of mind, than how can you even know you have meditated? Even if you were to experience complete thoughtlessness, then you would be unable to realize you are meditating, because if you did, you would be thinking and not meditating. You could not remember the experience considering you were not aware it was happening, considering your mind was completely blank at the time......
This is great thanks intentvideo. He is really good. He thinks very loud also which mostly I have found that he tells more truth than other people do. See his soul and mental and body are in a line of truth. So thanks you make my life better.
I tried meditation out for the first time today. I watched this introduction to meditation and one other. My first couple attempts, I felt like I was in a trance. I also felt a slightly higher awareness. After watching this video and hearing Deepak say that you have to surrender, I tried again. This time I seen some colors and shapes and I got really scared because I thought it was going to take over my consciousness and I didn't know what would happen, so I shifted my focus.
I tried again. This time I was aware of the possibility that I can achieve that state of mind so I was much more relaxed. I seen some shapes, colors more vividly. I felt chills in my brain and some really cool feelings in my body that I can't remember too well. It was fun. I'm definitely going to try this again soon.
@queensNY2185 ive been there too but you have to surrender everytime i get done i feel like I'VE been reborn, your body feels tingly like you just woke up from a bad ass nap
Dr.Chopra gives me a whole lot of comfort in my idea of meditation. And my meditation comes in easily, calmly, effrotlessly, and simply beautiful. If there's anything I like most in all the laws he introduced in his books, that would be The Law of Least Effort - it has helped me in so many wonderful ways.
I started meditation today... as I did what you said, I suddenly started to see this orange light pulsing, then into red and in the mist a bundle of violet, like a rolling tube. My body was numb but I was aware of it, my breathing I was unaware of. I had my eyes closed and the colors were not in my control. I stayed in this state for seven to eight minutes being aware of it. Then I came out and felt still for a bit but then back to normal. What does this mean?
Thats real good, the colours are sygnified as part of the chakra system, and probably where the idea came from, but i dont know much about what you see meaning, all i know is that th enumb feeling and emmersion is a good one and you should stick at it, nice work

@IntentVideo Is this method similar to vipassana meditation? Because in vipassana when you inhale you say "up" and when you exhale you say "down"
