Proof is a social phenomenon and is not the ultimate arbiter of truth. You cannot prove anything to another if they subjectively decide to deny your evidence and they don't have to tell you that even. You can experience many things that are not susceptible to proof. You cannot even prove that you exist. If another can disprove to you that you exist, then you have a real problem by relying on outside evidence to verify something that only you need to know for sure.

Thank you for this informative, insightful post. This is the third time I've heard it and each time some idea gives me a "light bulb" moment.

I was very impressed by the ideas of not playing what you don't actually hear and respecting the silences between the notes - plus descriptions of the creative process from a metaphysical point of view. This teaching needs a wider audience! I'm thinking a tour for the Learning Annex would be cool because creative people would love to hear this.
