  • Reminds me of some wonderful moments in my life. Thank God himself for good music.

  • Im going on an exhange trip for a year to germany, and my girlfriend pretty much told me today that shes gonna break up with me when i leave. This song really hits home for me, and is making this tough time in my life a little easier. Thank you, John Coltrane.

  • Truly inspirational, I have the honor of playing the trombone solo in a tribute to the duke and this gave me what I needed.

  • this really hit me....

  • This song has made my heart ache in places I can only so rarely find in other songs.

  • @BuckshotLaFunke1 The world is full of contrasts? (shrugs) Just as well...!?!?

  • Beautiful ... indeed ! as sentimental as it is ... love it !

  • Love this song. It chills me out. I have to close my eyes

  • Respect, deep respect.

  • Beautiful

  • My tears just go out. I can believe this interpretation.

  • Rose if you can read this, you are not following directions. Now lay down and close your eyes like I told you to.

  • Maybe it's been said before, but I'll say it again: it's like poetry without words. Your emotions resonate when you hear it. Amazing.

  • @liviakitsch You are right! More people should listen to this. I've just listened to this for the first time. MAN have I missed a lot!! :)

  • This is the Illest

  • I know i might sound a bit dorkly but, when i listen to this i always imagine i'm on a space carrier, on low-to-zero gravity and dim lights, watching the solar system and the stars pass by the window

  • Everytime I listen to Coltrane I lay down in my bed and close my eyes and I start to travel in dreams

  • @loombaron Hay no mames q cursi

  • What album is this off? Sometimes I think jazz is so dreamy and it can make me feel very relaxed at times and puts me into a nice, cosy stupour. Is this normal? This track makes me feel so relaxed and chilled out, I can feel waves of warmth crashing through my body. This is like a drug. It has taken a lot of getting used to, but I now love a lot of jazz (non-vocal only) but I really hate vocal jazz.

  • i wanna die hearing this song

  • @nimer42 Me too...

  • I just dont understand these 3 people!!!

  • Beyond supurb.

  • @worldofsophia now we have 3 idiots

  • Many thanks for the post>>>An historic meeting in the studio of two giants of jazz, namely Coltrane and Ellington. Both mesh in an astonishing ballad performance of this Duke Ellington original despite being three or four jazz generations apart. An unforgetable classic of jazz on record.

  • plus the best photograph of trane ever.. thanks

  • The first 2 minutes are so mesmerizing/depressing, If i'd have been more down I would have sliced my veins between those 2 minutes. If I ever decide to do it, it will be with those 2 minutes on the background.

In other words I just found this song so deep and beautifull, just the piano alone invites you to pull the trigger. So much awesomeness, I love you Coltrane (im not suicidal).

  • @gregorsamsameta10

You need to see a helper, psychologist of some kind.

  • 3 people thought the dislike button was the download button

  • @secundadonna You are right. This song is something special for a moment like that. I hope you find the best man possible in your future! Blessings and Happiness xD

  • @secundadonna An old rabbi once said: if you want the best person next to you. The best woman or the best man... first you need to be the best you can be and you will have her/him. We attract what we deserve, the rabbi said.

  • @FrShootingStar Thanks!

  • This song is just so beautiful, I feel like I'm high when I listen to it.

  • ELVIN!!!!!!

  • Look here

    jazzmore.net

  • Sorry if I am overly ignorant but, is he actually playing alto on this song? I am curious because of the picture and also since the register seems a bit high for a tenor... Not an expert though, so please be nice if I am talking crap. Regardless, what a beautiful tune!!

  • @amziadi thats a tenor my friend, it is being played fairly high but still a tenor sax for sure :)

  • @clanire Thanks for enlightening me! I am new to the whole sax business, I've been playing for only two weeks now so, you know... I love Coltrane but someone suggested that I start off with the alto since it's a bit softer on beginners than the tenor. I'm loving it, I've been a guitarist for 10 years now but somehow I am starting to think I was meant to be a saxophonist much more than I was a guitarist. Thanks again bud!

  • @amziadi no need to thank man..glad i could help. good luck in everything!

  • En mi funeral quiero que se escuche esta melodia

  • Love Jones

  • this is great! pure poetry...I'm in love with these song!

  • How does life explain the connection with this song, by this genius, with certain people on this Planet in appreciation of absolute perfection? I call it "A Love Supreme" between the Highest Power and a dynamic power who tapped into a Divine Order of the Universe.

  • In so in loooooooooooove with this song ...... Huuuuuuuum 'Love Jones' .......

  • My 12 year old son rises in the morning to this song. Love it!

  • @1blackvoice41 funny. im 12 and i just love this..

  • @1blackvoice41

    That's actually not normal.

  • Beautiful

  • Love you John, John, you made my heart feel life for the first time listening to this as a 19 year Old Jazz Lover. I left Cali with NOTHING ended up at Port Authority and you romanced me all of the way back home. The only thing I left Nuevo York with was OLE' and Joe Cuba...Bang, Bang!

  • @bransonbelle I'm glad there are more people our age who appreciate the genius of this man, so wonderful music! It's truly untouched by time and will forever remain beautiful and better as time goes by.

  • One of the best sax players who ever walk on this planet.

  • one of the best songs ever written. i love it!

  • @monoMohrovo

do not mention kenny g any where near trane or bird or chris potter or desmond or getz or any real JAZZ player cause what Kenny plays can scarcely be called pop.

  • @blah148

hey before you go yelling at people get your styff straight tranes pianist was mcoy tyner not duke ellington. duke was long dead before trane was playing, you dumb ass

  • @JazzYugioh1022 It's you who should get his facts straight. Coltrane died in '67, while Ellington died in '74.

  • @JazzYugioh1022

check the personnel for this record...it was a collaboration of duke and trane on September 26, 1962.

  • @MonoMohrovo

    Not even close!!! LOL

  • @MonoMohrovo

    No sir

  • I really enjoy Ellington here a lot. Great playing. Sounded a lot like less like "Hey I'm the piano player, see how many monster chords I can belt out" and more like "Here I am to play my music"

  • wo wo wo, I feel a religious debate coming on, lets all agree that this is not the time or place, just listen, relax, and maybe make a sandwich ;D

  • i first heard this on Love Jones.love it!

  • John Coltrane a Master of math and science as it translates itself into the Cosmos and Heaven. God heard your sound and said "OK John, you are welcomed here with LOVE and Admiration!

  • @bransonbelle god has nothing to do with this. Don't insult Coltrane.

  • @Colombiani that was ignorant statement God made music no matter if you believe it or not..#true story

  • @jjblueflame MAN made music.

  • @Colombiani why do not ask coltrane??
