O....M.....G Induce a static charge into the crossover? They putting sensitive TTL devices in them now? Feel like I just got hit with a load of clap trap!
When you talk with mumbles, and condescending flap jacks, you justify how these dopey things get a price that is horrendous. What a load of baloney. Hyped nonsense. MF thinks these things are fine, he also hears demagnetized VINYL. What a pontificating load.
@studioentertainment1. Some of the brands you mention make good stuff, but Sony and Pioneer? come on, give me a break. Hey give me a pair of AuraTones. Just joking.
Room design and treatment as well as placement of the speakers can make anything sound good or bad, so the room has a lot to do with it as well. the system is as good as the weakest link.
I think someone needs to calm down. What they use in recording studios doesn't mean they are better speakers. the most popular speakers used in recording studios are Yamaha NS-10's. There are studios that use Wilson Audio. I am not saying they are the best in the world, but they are nice speakers.
WILSON AUDIO IS A HIGH GLOSS FRAUD. PEOPLE LIKE THE SHINY!!! MOST HAVE NEVER HEARD THEM, IF THEY DID, THEN LISTENED TO OTHERS THAT ARE AVAILABE, THEY WOULD SEE THAT FOCAL,DYNAUDIO,B&W,VINTAGE AKAI,SONY AND PIONEER STUDIO SERIES ARE NOT ONLY FAR MORE ACCURATE, THEY ARE ACTUALLY USED IN MOST RECORDING STUDIOS ALL OVER THE WORLD! AND IT IS ABOUT THE SONIC INTEGRITY IS IT NOT?! WILSON IS THERE FOR THE THE NOUVEAU RICHE. THE WANT TO BE. I AM A PURIST & WILSON IS A OVERLY DECORATED CHEEP WEDDING CAKE
B&W Is also over rated and so are these. Go listen to a pair of salks. 1. Better craftsmenship, better drivers. You can surpass the performance for less the 1/4 the price. Btw I'm using Accuton mids, Raal tweets. LMS5400R subs EQ'd flat down to 10hz. Actively crossed with pro amps running passive all the time. Once your in the world of DIY you can never go back. These speakers are larcenous delusional psychoacoustical crap!!
@MKBEntertainment I agree, Wilson, focals, are grossly over priced under performers. Like lots of electronics to drive em. GO AVA, sonic bliss for mortals, with ears that work!
Waaaaaaaayyyy overpriced. A top notch pair of electrostatics like Innersound, Soundlab, Martin Logan or the Quad 2905 is more transparent, coherent and life like for many times lower price though they don't go as loud or as deep in the bass.
@uvafan420 You are soo correct! Wilson is not only overrated, they are NOT at all accurate (Hate what he does to the crossover) He sources his drivers from Focal, Scanspeak and Dynaudio, he does not make his OWN speakers, just the cabinets and crossover! and $150k for Bowling Ball material is not worth it. I do not have anywhere close to the resources he has, BUT at least I design amd make my own speakers, I am not a GLORIFIED CABINET MAKER! a Well designed custom sounds better and is preferred
I'm quite sure that they are very good speakers, if not great speakers. But the price they charge for their speakers is plain criminal. They charged $45,000 for the MAXX 2 speakers. Their MAXX 3 cost upwards of $68,000 dollars. Ridiculous for a minor re-twearking, and regardless of what they say, it's a minor re-tweaking and certainly not worth that price.
I'll put my B&W 800 Diamonds and DM1, which cost about half that much, up against these any day.
@MKBEntertainment Here! Here! But then again;I don't believe you should insult snake oil this way by lowering it to the level of this larcenous delusional psychoacoustical crap!!
all these guys do is put out the same old stuff year after year, with "new" technology, all the while jacking up their prices and paying audio "reviewers" to write glowing reviews for their products.yes, certain things do change from one year to the next, and yes, there have been improvements in loudspeaker design over the last twenty years, but $100K+ for a pair of speakers?!the science has not come that far that we should pay more for a pair of speaker than we do for a house, for fuck's sake!!

Extremely over priced for what they do. Legacy Audio smokes most anything. WHISPERS, HELIX, are SUPERIOR, for much less!

I can't believe people spend this much on sound lol...
Though having had the chance to hear the Infinity IRS V, I would have one pair of those for 20 of these things...
