  • omg 5 years,,,they put a tons of great clasics out man i didnt know they only were around 5 years..

  • Have you ever seen a more seamless medley? musical geniuses all four of them

Long live my favourite band The Smiths

  • I think this is a great example of Moz enjoying the music loads. He seemed to get off on it as much as the fans sometimes, thoroughly enjoying the slamming sound johnny n co were creating behind him,but of course never detracting from his own excellent vocal performance. He always brought originality to tracks live. Oh ye and I LOVE THEM!

  • should a good live version/mash-up. they really were an awesome live band.

  • Best song on this Album!!!!

  • Un des meilleurs quatuors de tous les temps.

  • grandi grandi grandi.... hanno accompagnato la mia gioventù li ascolto ancora volentieri iiiuuuu

  • 3 people have never attended a fair in Manchester or are tone death.

  • @ellycat lol, I mean deaf although death may be more apt ;)

  • RANK SHOULD BE LABELED AS CIGARRETTES, DANGEROUSLY ADDICTIVE

  • fucking ace

  • hmmmm its not me who typed that

  • @ThisCharmingBhoy was 5? lol

  • @shaggy39uk Only five for a short period

  • @timbo88 im in the exact same position

  • rouke's bass though Fucking awsome

  • well done

  • Andy and Johnny are ripping it up from around 3:00-3:40 - brilliant improvising. Also love Johnnys random, but very characteristic guitar picks at the very end.

  • @MasterOfTheUniver But don't under-estimate Craig Gannon..

  • You're a very astute (but unfortunately too young) person Timbo. me, Ozzy. deeplyseated and the like didn't know how lucky we were....... or maybe we did - you don't miss stuff til it's gone!

  • When this slides into Rusholme Ruffians, I just can't help but smile. Wish I'd been around to see Morrissey, Marr Joyce and Rourke play live.

  • hey ozzy - also been about 20 years - love it still the same as now!!

  • Dayum this is gangster. someone answer Wilfslad!

  • Craig Gannon. The 5th Smith!!!!!

  • seems like this was taped from the audience and matched up (much!) later with the rank album audio.. brilliant!

  • Love the riff at 3:07 to 3:08.... Its absolute class!

  • Have it ! . My senses are not being dulled .

  • I love the base in this song.

  • I never heard this version either! love it!

  • The most underrated rhythm section ever (apart from the "other two" from The Jam)

  • nice vids gambini.

  • this could be my favorite smiths song of all time...

  • these 'remastered' videos are great idea! thanks!

  • great quality. thanks.

  • fuckin brilliant a

  • Why does virtually all the Smiths live video look like it was shot on a cellphone? It's too bad they didn't take video more seriously.

  • @thebigsee cellphone in 1986?

  • I didn't say they had cellphones in 1986, I said their videos LOOKED like they were shot on a cellphone. Very little good archival video of The Smiths exists it seems, especially since they were so resistant to making videos . . .

  • does any footage exist from the BBC show at Hatfield Poly? I remember that was a great gig (for a tv show that is)

  • Funnily enough, in 1986 they didn't have the technology that they did today. Hence the quality, which is AMAZING

  • This is not amazing quality, especially for the time. They could have done much better, I've seen concert videos from other bands at that time (The Bunnymen for example) that is much better. It's not about technology, but technique (lighting, editing, etc.). Any student of The Smiths knows that they were at best indifferent to video and at worst completely unmotivated to make videos.

  • love the Smiths

  • OMG I'm going to cry.....I never seen this...omg.

  • senza parole!

  • i prefer the smiths version of maries the name than elvis, Legends!!!

  • wow i remember this track... great memories...god where are you now ..mick walton....???????......

  • awesome track true manchester music

  • I think the thing I love most about The Smiths is how intelligent their devout fans are.

  • @whump123

    We love you ;)

  • @whump123 You'd be dumb not to love them!

  • @whump123 The thing I hate about them is how humble they are

  • @55svaresi: Morrissey? Humble? Oh MAN. That is too funny. As for Johnny Marr, however...I'd agree with you.

  • @whump123 i find most are idiots

  • I went to the same fair!

  • morrissey pulls it off

  • I love Elvis and Morrissey

  • elvis presley version is better

  • "And I'd walk home alone, but my faith in love is still devout."...brill...

  • WOW! How good were The Smiths? GODS!

  • pretty much the best thing thats even graced my eardrums

  • Listened to this loads on the album, to see the footage is ace!!

  • This song sums up my thoughts as a teenager.

Especially "Someone's beaten up, someone falls in love, and the senses being dulled are mine."

  • Seamless!! <33

  • The change from latest flame to Rusholme Ruffians still make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up

  • It's absolutely brilliant isn't it? Top marks Johnny.

  • A skirt a ascends for a watching eye,

It's a hideous trait on her mothers side!

    Yoop!

  • i love this :D

  • morrissey is king

  • I've listened to this version for over 20 years and still love it.

  • I love this song so much,

Andy u r a bass genius, ur bass lines r so unique & matching JM's guitar tune perfectly.

  • unrivalled in music

  • A boy is stabbed & his money is grabbed!

  • Oh my goodness! Thank you.

  • THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
