@Shehzadmcs28 If you have something like Virtual Box or VMWare, you just set the virtual machine to point a virtual CD/DVD drive at an ISO file of CentOS on your hard drive.

There are 6 CDs in the latest distribution CentOS 5.2 you might not need all of them for a basic install. There is also a Live CD that you can run without installing.

Or a Single DVD.

what do you want to know, it is pretty much the same as the above, once you have created the virtual machine. Use Red Hat Enterprise 5 as the OS type for the VM.

How many CDs i need for a minimal install¿? ,

i mean an instalation with at least a GUI, and basic software ....do i have to download the 5 CDs?.
