at 0:22 why did you hit him?!? you asked for a halt he did as he's told and you smacked him... If it was ducking out of the jump, you need to keep leg and rein on him, it's not his responisbility to do everything for you. Other than that, you could have a little more control but fairly good.

To me i think you dont have any control over that pony. The pony is bossing your around,instead of you bossing it around. After you didd all the jumps u just let that pony almost rube you off at the gate so.......Take some control and dont be afraid

She struck the horse at an inappropriate time. The horse was behaving, and being calm, and she rewarded that with a smack. Luckily it was her hand, and the horse probably didnt notice, but had it been a whip, i think there would be one confused horse thinking it was being punished for doing good.

If you are going to strike an animal, you have to get the timing right, too many riders lose their temper and hit the animal out of anger and at the wrong time.

i think your comment was not very nice! my pony was very stubborn. i was 11 years old and did not know better! and the pony is as spoiled as it can be! and i think i know better if the pony neded a whip in the but than you do! bacause the pony alvays turned the wrong way in the corners and i almost fell off. that was why the pony got the wip on her but! think before you write and if you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all.. and i dont have a bad themper!!!!!!!

I was wondering...what is the purpose of this exercise? Is it to build strength in the horse? Does it benefit the rider in any way? Just wondering and thanks in advance for your answer(s).

it is for the same purpose as gymnastics, it is to help a horse that jumps and lands heavy on the forehand because after so many consecutive jumps they cant stay like that. it also helps improve your position over fences
