part of our true nature is a desiret to serve...it's part of who we are...The word "slave" is a deception....How can we reject that part of who we already are?
You are quick. So you have some hand skills too. You are going to put our friends from south of the border out of work. Are you tring to kill NAFTA. HA ha ha ha ha
Looks great Monty!I'd of had to really think about taking it down flush with the lam floor though.I'm not sure how you would trim it out otherwise though. But to a nit-picker like me id want it to appear that the stone was there before the framing.Still looks great though.
It's pretty good but to the trained eye, there are some places the mortar wasn't cleaned up right, the level of the stone on the overhang wasn't to the right level to accept the wood, and I could have done it in 5 minutes!
nasanction, actually the stage were the video was taken was not the absolute final. I had to clean the stone and basic punch list. All the same the wood was placed up there to hold the stone in place for the glue and mortar to dry and to keep from sliding!
I know you did a good job Monty. ;) Just giving you a little hard time is all. You do just as I, Do the job right so you don't have to do it again. I take pride in everything I do, and go the extra mile to set my self apart from the rest. I can tell your the same way. How else would you get the story about the clogged sink? ;)
hey Monty, this is a nice new topic you can expand on in your channel, and to push it one step further, throw in one or two of your characters! For example, that cellar that the NWO soldier is hanging out in could be improved with some interior design ;)
zenguin13, try to use Muratic acid (spelling?) - they sell it at both Lowes and Home Depot. You should wear saftey glasses, rubber gloves and boots when scrubbing!
JamJells, well the product was bought from a private distibuter at $1 a square ft. Do you believe that? Wow, the guy got a smoking deal. This ima-stone usually sells for 9 to $10 a square foot!
WOW! Beautiful work! You should check out some of Leo Vait's projects sometime - he a Homer AK artist who works with wood, stone & textured concrete. I saw he had posted some of his projects and artwork on leovaitDOTcom
VincentVonGoat, well you have to with stone. These blocks wiegh anywhere from 3-12 pounds, depending on size, whereas tile is about a pound each! Plus, I certify my work for 5 years! I want to be sure of my work, and the prep is 95% of the job!
Im replying here because you dont seem to have a comment box available for me to have a voice...hmmm but here I go...a Mason couldnt have done a better job looks warm and toasty...pull that couch right up there and put your feet on the hearth and enjoy the reward of your hard work...I have a ten minute bathroom renovation for you lol...very well done indeed...:) looks awesome.
