  • Just ordered one :D! I'm excited lol

  • wich pedal do you use FV500H or FV500L? Why two pedals?

  • @zero82611 Its the "H"... One is for volume or wah only and one for expression / fx modulation only.

  • how good is it in the effets loop.just want the effects.got a g-major2 in another rig, wondering if the effects on this thing are as good as the major2's

  • @bossgtdiez10 Its just fine in the fx loop. I had a G-Major and the FX are just as transparent to me. Maybe not quite as deep but sonically sound just as good.

  • @bossgtdiez10 This is how I use the Nova System. And if you're familiar with TC Electronic's effects, the Nova System is just like them. Very organic, very pristine, very controllable and very quiet. I love it in my loop...

  • HOW NOISY IS IT ??Heard other demos and read a bit a lot of user complain about how the unit get noisy.

  • @bossgtdiez10 The Nova? It's not noisy at all.

  • @vaisatchatrucci I think he meant the Rebel 20...

  • @richardlpalmer I bet you a pack of strings he didn't... ;-) lol

  • @vaisatchatrucci If you're right, you'd deserve the strings! I just can't imagine anyone asking about the Nova being loud. I mean ANYTHING by TC Electronic is as pristine as it comes, right? ;)

  • can you cascade different pedals with nova system?

  • @atinkupongsingsing Do you mean plug in pedals into the front of the Nova? If so then yes but like any floor fx unit, you have to be careful of the level coming into it and make sure everything is set to unity gain.

  • @vaisatchatrucci oh,ok tnx.. mine is on the way comes with a tc expression pedal..I have a fuzz, dirt and a tuner and wanted to connect this 3 peds with the nova. by the way, your vid is one of the best reviews i've seen for this item. cheers man!

  • @atinkupongsingsing Thanks brother I appreciate that very much! Sounds like youre gonna have some fun!!! :)

  • Really good vid! what do u think about the line 6 hd500 can u compare with nova system??

  • @freedomfromhisblood Thanks! :) I've never used the HD's and don't know if I'll ever get my hands on one though from what I've heard they sound great!

  • cheers got it figured out,you need a stereo 1/4 jack to jack lead for the single connection for the expression pedal to work with the nova system.then i viewed the set up videos on the tc electronic site. It worked brilliant first time.thanks for your help.

  • @steveswanston Glad you got it working!

  • i just got a boss FV500h TO CONNECT UP TO MY NOVA SYSTEM tom use as a exspression pedal/volume cant get it to work,is there a special type of cable u need

  • @steveswanston No just a standard 1/4" instrument cable... Theres a lot more to configure than just hooking it up - not that you don't know that. Look on TC's website, they have several tutorial type videos one of which I believe deals with midi... Your manual will be a good resource as well. Lastly, check the volume on the pedal, it need to be turned all the way one direction (not sure which right off)...

  • Great tones man! 1 question: How would u compare the drive sounds from the Nova to the ones we get on the BB Preamp? I have a Mark IV and a G Force in the loop so I was thinking about getting a Nova to b able to use the effects in front of the amp since Flanger,Phaser, Chorus,Compression all work much better for me in front of the amp.I can use the Nova as the brain of my pedalboard since it can control my G Force and my Rockman octopus which changes my amp channels. Can the Nova replace the BB?

  • @dougmaia Thanks! :) Well... lets see... Its sort of a difficult question to answer because it's very subjective but speaking just for me, I would say you could get by without the BB with the Nova... The Nova overdrive and distortion are surprisingly great sounding so I would say that in a live situation, I don't know that in the whole band mix if you would feel like it wasn't cutting it as well as the BB... I guess I'm saying if my BB got stolen, the Nova would work just fine. Hope that helps!

  • After a year of playing with this thing, you still think it's as good now as it was then? Thinking about going with one of these to replace my pedalboard, for simplicity.

  • @refinedbass I think it's outstanding from a simplistic standpoint and ease of use for sure. Sounds freakin' great and does virtually everything I need FX wise and does it well. It's every bit as good as the G-System FX wise (minus a few FX and parameters) but the G-System is much better from a midi controller standpoint if you need to control specific midi functions. My only beef is that the Nova only has one expression pedal input and the G-System has 2 but I understand why they did that.

  • can you use the overdrive ontop of your amps dirty channel like you would a tubescreamer?

  • @NJCrossley Absolutely! which is what I did with the Rebel 20 from time to time as well since it was only one channel.

  • @vaisatchatrucci awesome! I ordered mine the other day. got a sweet deal on an ex display model. will arrive on monday!!

  • Great demo. Really liking your sound, especially at 6.24. Are you using a Boss FV-500 as an expression pedal?

  • @InsanoGerbil Thanks man! :) yes I use it as both an expression and volume as well, or rather one of them is volume and another one is set as the expression pedal.

  • @vaisatchatrucci Hey Man, good Demo. I was wondering.. i just bought the pedal myself but i'm kinda bummed with a couple of things.. one is the preset change.. it has a little delay.. and if you use it in pedal mode, then the individual effects turn on when your foot is coming up rather than when u step on them like a normal pedal. The other is that i want an expression pedal and a G-switch at the same time. the only choice is to get a midi expression Pdl. how do you connect both pedals?

  • @fpranchas Thanks man - I'm not sure you CAN connect to 1/4 inch midi pedals in any way... Not sure though... With the Nova, it's just something you learn to deal with in terms of timing your switching to account for the slight delays you are experiencing. I'm not sure that a G-Switch is going to be the way to go. If I were you, I'd just sell the Nova, buy a G-Major and a midi controller honestly...

  • what are your settings on the egnater in this video? i have a rebel 30 and i love your tone!

  • @poopyfaceification Thanks brother! :) Sorry I don't recall - I thought I went over them in this one, but maybe that was the Rebel 30 video...? I don't have this amp anymore unfortunately or i could tell you!

  • Love the king's x riff and tone. Very sweet setup man!

  • @xxxMrAwesomexxx Thanks and coming from Mr Awesome I'll take that any day! :)

  • Thanks brother.... sound real good .

  • Nice video man!!!

I have question are you using this on FX loop ???And are you using any distortion or over drive from Egnater ???

  • @odissey04 On this demo I am using the gain on the Nova only and no, I did not run it into the FX loop because while you CAN and that's preferred from an FX standpoint, it disables the drive circuit so you can't use the gain on the Nova as a result which is why I got the Rebel 30 so I CAN run it into the FX loop and just use the gain from the Egnater and not the Nova if I so desire. The other Rebel 20 demo I did used the gain from the amp only with the Nova not connected at all.

  • if I were to get this, and get an amp gizmo, could I switch the channels on this as I could with a g-system?

  • @COBDeereGUY I'm not sure I understand the question because this amp is only one channel... Yes with the AmpGizmo you can switch channels on most any amp. It requires a custom cable made for the amp you are needing to control which the AmpGizmo guys will sell you.

  • @vaisatchatrucci I have a tripple recto, and I know the Gizmo will control it. My question is can the nova system control everything, like your g-system setup does?

  • @COBDeereGUY The Nova does not have relays like the G-System so the G-System can actually control the channel switching without the AmpGizmo unlike the Nova which yes - the Nova will control everything amp wise using the AmpGizmo. The Nova will not control anything pedal wise like the G-System since it lacks the loop features the G-System has.

  • @vaisatchatrucci thanks alot! thats what i wanted to hear ;) your vids rock!!

  • @COBDeereGUY Thanks brother! Best of luck to ya!

  • @vaisatchatrucci apparently u can use midi output to change amp channels with change of presets, sounds very good indeed

  • @asianaxeman Well, with the G-System you can use midi and the AmpGizmo OR the G-Systems built in relays and standard TRS cables, but with the Nova System, it's not possible unfortunately either way :(

  • how do you use the compression effect? i mean; if i decide to use my nova system after my preamp and before my power amp( i have all separate), what about compression? i have read somewhere that g-system has an effects loop for that. i have no idea whats it about:)

  • @jacksondinky2eds Doesn't really matter where the Nova is in the chain, the compressor will squash the signal wherever. It will sound BEST in an effects loop if your preamp has one or BEFORE the preamp. The G-System has compression built in just like the Nova so the same applies. The loops on the G-System are for pedals that you want to use in addition to the G-System and you can turn loops on and off within presets to engage or disengage them on the fly with the push of one button.

  • @vaisatchatrucci i mean; people usually use compressor before the preamp. got the idea now?:) but if you still say that it doesnt make any differences to use comp. effect in an effects loop, its ok...

  • Thanks for the video man. Very helpful. I was unsure until I watched your video. I'm now glad to say that nova system is a go.

  • Cool! thanks man - I want to do a little more in depth demo of this guy but haven't been able to find the time, but I'm glad you found it useful!

  • can anyone tell me?

I like more agressive music and i own a 2 channel dual rec. Can you use the nova systems overdrive to push the tubes just like a maxon or ibanez tube screamer?

  • @thricegod1288 Sure!

  • Hi, thanks for the video. Please can you tellme the exact pedals model you use with the nova. The left an the right one on the video.Thanks..

  • BOSS FV-500H

  • Thanks for you answer!! Only one thing, Whitch type of cable do you use: Stereo Jack or Mono Jack.

    Thanks

  • Sure! My pleasure. With the Nova and G-System just a regular ol' patch / instrument cable - mono - of course but with the Eleven Rack, you have to use a stereo TRS cable.

  • why doesn't the p'trucci guitar come with the JP inlays and stuff?

that dissapoints me , and teh fact that the first series didn;t even own the dimarzio dsonic p'ups...

so u use this small rig for small gigs only ..?

  • It does if you order it with them. I got all the options EXCEPT the shield inlays - I just couldn't lock in to them aesthetically... I'm a round peg in a round hole sorta guy... :) I actually don't even like the fact that his signature is on the headstock personally, but hey... The first series was born WAY before the D-Sonic was developed - many years in fact. The Crunchlab and Liquifire = GREAT. I've used it on both small and larger gigs with fantastic results w/great monitor mixes though.

  • can you tell me if the effect sounds are different into the front of the amp or effects loop . i could use my overdrive amp channel for BIG SOUND if it,s better in effect loop for delays and others modulation effects. thank for your answer bro.

  • Yes sounds better in the loop I think personally, but sounds great in front also I have to say, but effects loop is the way to go if you have the means for gain outside the Nova... Dude, check out the Suhr Riot pedal... I got one which I'll demo soon and it RAWKS... It'll be replacing my OCD I think, although I love it too... decisions decisions... I'll do a gain pedal shootout between the BB Preamp, OCD and the Riot... It'll be fun... AND informative! LOL

  • thank you!! i'm going right now send my first

english lesson (part 1) on you tube!!!

    LOOOOOOOOLLLLLL!!!!!!!

  • LOLOLOL!

  • sorry, but i'm french and my english is so bad!!!!

  • No worries! You're english is fine!

  • do you connect the nova system in the effect loop or directly in the front of the amp?

    Thank you for answer!

  • @cholomax21 This is the very first thing he talks about! Watch the video!

  • LOL - thanks bro :)

  • You can do both, but if you want to use the overdrive/distortion circuit then you HAVE to plug it into the front of the amp. Otherwise you can run in the effects loop for just the effects and no overdrive/distortion.

  • which pedaltrain board do you have that attached to?

  • Pedaltrain 2 with the ATA flight case which is REALLY nice and rugged.

  • Can the whammy be set for upper octaves?

  • Yes - I believe a full 2 octaves either way up and down.

  • I could be wrong, but I know the G-System has a two octave range up and down and believe the Nova is the same.

  • I have a very important question.

You are running your guitar int a volume pedal then the nova systems. Can you Route the first volume pedal behind your drives and before the delays and reverbs so the Drive is 100% on swells, and the Reverbs and delays trail off??

i want to use two expression pedlas like you to control the Whammy and Mod effects but i want a global Volume pedal instead of having to program all my patches with one expression.

  • Unfortunately no on the routing - you can do that on the G-System which is how I have mine set up. You DO still get trailing effects though, but you just don't get full drive on a swell. I do that a lot, and honestly, there's not a huge difference from how the G-System sounds with using the volume modulation -vs- using it as an actual volume pedal but I hear where you are coming from and my guess is they left just enough features off the Nova System to not piss off all the G-System owners :)

  • great stuff

I own the Nova System and love it, I use it to control my RK II channel changes etc and it's an awesome "small rig"

Question for you; I like your phase sound, what are the settings on the modulation section?

    Thanks

    Jon

  • i don't know right off - but I believe I just copied the settings from TC's site and there's a download for Pete Thorns phase 90 patch in one of the articles - may be in the patch library they have. Thanks! :)

  • you should give guitar lessons :-)

  • Thanks! Well, if I actually knew what the hell I was doing I would love to :) unfortunately I have no clue - LOL - but thank you - that's far too kind of you to say!

  • Hey vaisatchatrucci,

I'm thinking of getting the Nova System and ditching my rack fx altogether. Small is the best way to go nowadays.

Anyway, can you please tell me how you download software updates for the Nova?

  • Great! Yeah it's such a great iittle small rig to have in your arsenal for sure! As far as downloading updates, you just go to TC Electronics site and download them from there and install them on your PC or Mac and just use a standard USB cable like you would have for a printer and connect your Nova or G-System to it and it's fairly straight forward and the software will typically walk you through what to do. Good luck!

  • 4 cable method not possible on nova system?

  • No it's not. I use the gain on the Nova so I run my guitar -> nova -> nova output -> input of amp but you CAN run the nova in the effects loop of your amp as well, but if you use it in an effects loop, it disables the Nova's drive/distortion. I've run it both ways and I actually prefer it in front of the amp actually which allows me to use the drive/distortion on the Nova and/or the gain on the amp as well which when combined (with just a hair of gain on the Egnater) - sound spectacular. :)

  • thanks.

  • Vai, Satch, Petrucci, same here. love the demo man.

  • Thanks buddy! :) again! :)

  • Hey man... I've heard the chorus and some of the modulations on the nova are awful... im trying to decide which way to go

option one... (i'm switching to a tube combo from a line 6)

is the nova system good enough to sell my eventide modfactor and just have this one unit

or option 2... keep the modfactor and just get a delay/reverb pedal like the timefactor or the nova delay rather than the whole system

  • Well, I'm not really the authority on modulation effects, I'm not a huge fan really BUT the new firmware upgrade for the G-System has Univibe which I LOVE, but as far as the Nova, the sounds are great to my ears, but I've nothing to compare to nor have I heard Eventides Modfactor which I'm sure is badass. To me though the Nova has so many strengths I can't imagine the chorus or modulation effects could be so "awful" in comparison to other gear. I could be wrong but I love the all-in-one-ness.

  • is the lack of true bypass an issue at all? i would be running it in an effects loop at line level im guessing...

im thinking about getting a budda... which the effets loop is always on..

  • No issue.

  • Man, awesome sound!!!!

I really loved your drive tone...

    Thanks for being so nice.

    You ROCK!!!!!

  • Thanks bro! I appreciate that! - well I'm only as nice as people are to me so you're in great shape! LOL! Glad you dug it, thanks for saying so.

  • Man, let me ask you just one question. I figured that you use 2 Boss Expression pedals. I think one is for volume and the other is for expression itself (like whammy). My concern is: Can I use just one expression pedal and use it both for either volume or expression? For instance, I have a preset with whammy, so I can use in an expression way but when I turn the whammy effect off it automatically turns out into a volume or not???

I hope you understand my question??

    Thanks anyway...

  • Yes, that's correct. I believe you can do that. With expression you should be able to control whatever you want per patch, so on one you should be able to control the input volume, and on another the whammy effect and if I'm not mistaken you can actually modulate more than one thing at a time? I've seen Pete Thorn do that and its something I never considered really. Anyway on my G-System, I actually use 2 expression pedals, one always for guitar volume and one for modulating effects. Thanks!

  • Thank you so much!!! It was very helpful.

    Keep rockin'!!!!!!!

  • My pleasure sir! You do the same! :)

  • dude , can you explain how to do the update - I don't see the USB input. Also read it's done through a MIDI device ? So I need MIDI device ?

  • Yeah - I have for instance a midi keyboard I use for tracking which connects via USB, so I just plug the Nova into the keyboard via Midi cable and connect it that way. The G-System has a USB connection which is much simpler. So you have to have a way to connect it to the PC either through another midi device or just buy a PC midi cable which you can connect it to that way.

  • The distortion and overdrive on the Nova is great. I have not really compared it to anything else to say it's BETTER than anything, but I love the warmth of it personally. You can buy a Nova Drive which is basically the same thing with just the gain by itself but no effects. There are a LOT of great overdrive/distortion pedals out there, and you really just need to try them out yourself to make sure you can get the sound you are after. I also recommend the BB Preamp and OCD by Fulltone.

  • Hi mate loving all the videos you do. I was wondering should i wait and save more money to get the G-System or is this just as good. I have a Mesa Express?

  • The G-System is a completely different animal really. Its more of an amp switching (via relays), foot pedal controlling (stomp boxes in loops that can be programmed to be switched in and out within a single patch) and the midi controller part of it is WAY more configurable than the Nova. If you aren't needing the above and just want a great effects system, then yeah the Nova is a much cheaper alternative. The Nova doesn't have wah effects :( - the only downside for me. I love 'em both!

  • Thanks for replying with such infomation. I think i will go for the Nova System and then maybe a G System.

    Cheers

  • Baby steps are always good! :) The Nova may be all you need - I use it just about every weekend and rarely use my G-System rig... good luck!

  • lots of info about the unit -thanks

  • Your welcome - yeah I try to balance it out with some playing too cause people leave comments saying I talk to much - hehehe - which I do, but it IS a product demo sorta... :) thanks

  • must you have a one channel amp? :O I have a two channel Fender amp, how i have to use it now?

  • Not at all - you can run it into the effects loop of the amp if you dont need the distortion / overdrive on the Nova System. if you want to use the overdrive/distortion then you have to run it into the front of the amp and use it on your clean channel... However many channels your amp won't be an issue for you - so you are good to go.

  • I am anxious to get my own system and see what I can do with it. Thanks for your information. Mine is in shipping!

  • I agree with you, your distorted tones sound really good with that Novasystem! It looks like the Rebel gain knob is only at about 11 o'clock? So,the distortion is coming from the Nova? And,still,it sounds like Rebel disto.! Very nice, thanks ;-)

  • Thanks! I like the Nova distortion, it's really warm! So yes, the gain is coming from the Nova and the Rebel is set pretty clean but almost bordering on overdrive if you slam the strings hard enough :) the setting there gives it a little added headroom, body and warmth. Thanks again! :)

  • TALK TOOOO MUCHHHHHH ...JUST PLAY !!

  • So I've been told :)

  • 8:35 - 9:00 ooooohhhhhhh LOL. Luv the VH goodness.

  • hahahaha - whats not to love!? VH = Sweet Baby Jesus Love

  • Excellent video, you introduced your nova system in a very nice, comprehensive way, well done and thanks for this.

  • Thanks brother - I tend to babble a lot and never quite sure if I am making a good point or just talking, so that's great to hear. I appreciate that. :) Usually everyone is like MORE PLAYING less TALKING... :) but that defeats the purpose of the videos to me. I can make videos of me playing all day long with no explanation of the gear, but I'm not narcasistic enough to bother... yet... LOL

  • hi gcool videos!

Maybe i will coose this nova system i don't know now!

But when you plays your boogie the nova is in the fx loop?

    Thanks great job!

  • Thank you! Well, when I use my Boogie, I use my other pedal board with the G-System - although if I were to use the Nova, yes it would be in the effects loop. The problem and main reason i don't use the Nova with the Boogie, is I need another Amp Gizmo :) Everything on my other pedalboard is dual-locked (hard core velcro) down so it's a bit hard to just keep swapping gear back and forth. I'll get the mini amp gizmo at some point to at least have the option though. Thanks again :)

  • That a PT PRO? Oooofff... thats the biggest one :) I didn't think the Nova was that big. Do you think that if you removed one of the BOSS pedals, you would have room for a wireless & amp gizmo mini like your other board? I'd like to fit a Nova, one BOSS exp, a OCD, pitchblack tuner and the wireless/amp gizmo. Those could be stacked like on your other board...

  • No mine is the Pedaltrain 2 and Its only 24 inches wide or something like that and the Pro one is 8 inches wider at 32 inches if I'm not mistaken. The think is the top of the Nova just barely has enough room in there so you can't stack any pedals or gear higher than the height of the Nova System however high that is. It's a perfect fit though in the ATA case which I highly recommend...

  • Killer. I for one enjoy your reviews/walkthroughs. I am in line for a Mesa MkV. I am gonna run a Mini Amp Gizmo with the Nova - in a pedal board much like yours. Looks perfect for what I am looking for. Prob need a bigger board to fit it all on there though. Somewhere between the one in this vid, and that sweet massive board you have for your TC. I just play small bars so it can't be too big :)

  • Thanks bud :) Yeah thats why I had to sort of go smaller as there's some gigs with little to no space at all... it gets the job done though and I haven't used my big board in quite some time now... It's sweet when I can strap my guitar on my back, put the strap of my Egnater head around my neck, pedalboard in one hand, 1x12 Egnater cab in the other... With the other gear I need a dolly and make 3 trips... :) It does sound a little better though - LOL...

  • I thought I'd give the Boss 500H pedal a go as an expression pedal. What cord are you using to connect it to the NS for expression pedal usage?

  • @PCLoadLetter84 standard 1/4 instrument cable.

  • 7 minutes scrolling of talk :o/ ,luckally there was some nice playing in the end lol

  • I know - I did exactly what I hate when I look at other "demo" videos... hehehe - LOL

  • Yes. You hold down on the tap tempo button and violla! TUNER! :) it works great. nothing fancy, but it's all there.

  • Hey man, does this thing have a tuner on board?

  • The rebel sounds great, my missing link, and the nova is great too.

  • Thanks bud! They're coming out with a 2-channel version which should kick ass... The Nova is a sweet pedal too - does about all you need and compact.

  • It's a PedalTrain - the ATA model which is heavy duty and if you travel get that one - and the Nova BARELY fits in there top top bottom - very snug and won't shift around AT ALL. Nicely padded. I don't use their velcro though - Use "Dual Lock" (sp?). I had to peel the rubber pad off the bottom of the NOVA to apply the velcro, but it literally LOCKS the unit on the board and it's nearly imppossible to pull apart. Tour Supply here in Nashville has it and they use it on all their custom builds.

  • Any chance you can share some of your awesome Nova patch settings? Also, what do you have dialed into the Rebel. I am interested in buying it and I am curious on the tone settings you are using. Thank you for an awesome demo.

  • Thanks! Hey sorry I must've missed this msg from a long time ago! If you go to the TC website, you can get some of the Pete Thorn Nova patches which are really great and I basically use those and just modified a few things to taste here and there - if anything at all. For the Rebel - it's pretty straight forward I don't have much bass coming through usually never higher than noon, mids are about 10 oclock, and treble about 7 or 8 o clock. I run it clean and use the nova's gain. thanks!

  • What model of PedalTrain is it? Thanks for all the helpful info!

  • PT-PRO-HC

  • I have a Nova System and was thinking about getting a setup like that for smaller cover gigs. What kind of pedalboard is that, and does it have a case for transportation?

  • hey... !!!Nice playing..!!! tell me something. Get a metronome and put it on any tempo and try to follow it with the nova system. Can you let me know if the nova gets the right tempo on the delay? My NS won't get the right tempo and I love this pedal. but this problem annoys me cuz I play live and drummers constantly change their tempo. I'll appreciate your response.

  • Its fine on mine. Before the firmware update the tap tempo was being set on the release of the switch not on the press which is maybe what is happening - or WAS since it was 6 months ago! sorry :) It looks like I didnt get any emails from this time frame looking through the comments so I am trying to go through and address those... Hope that helps - and yes most drummers suck without a click... :)

  • Sounds great - huge for a little rig. Not much noise or hiss either. Does the Nova have a noise suppressor?

  • yes it does, also it has eq

  • Thanks! Yes it has a noise gate and it helps that i don't use much gain - it CAN get noisy if you use too much but the noise gate works great.

  • I just noticed how good of a player you are!

  • You JUST noticed! LOL just kidding - I actually never noticed that personally! Never satisfied... thanks so much!!!

  • Music music...I hear music

    Love the King's X!

Let's see, I just picked up a Rebel 20 last week for pretty much the same reasons you mentioned...a really light rig for small to mid sized gigs. I am using a Line 6 M13 with mine. The lack of two channels is problematic though. I don't really care for the Line 6 drives (everything else is great). I do love the tone of the Rebel 20 though. I am considering returning it in favor of the soon to be released Rebel 30 (two channels).

  • Did you ever get the Rebel 30? I am thinking of switching myself, but I have been so happy with the Nova gain and being able to use different cabs with the smaller head that I am torn...

  • can you do gigs with that amp?

  • All the time! :)

  • good demos, dude. i've been enjoying these. MOAR!

  • Thanks brother! Hope to do more soon!

  • Hey bro :)

Sounds killer. But like you say, i'd like to hear it physically. Just being in the room. How is the respons/attack? Looks cool too :)

  • Hello! the response and attack is really nice - I like the gain on the Egnater better than the gain on the Nova System, but I think it's good enough for my applications and I honestly have not spent much time dialing anything in which I really need to do... then I'll mic it up and record another video with it... hahahaha! I wish I had more time... :( LOL

  • Sorry :) Boss - I think FV-500H or something like that... It's a volume and expression pedal in one...

  • Expression is the left pedal and the volume is the right one...

  • Can you run the Nova system both in front of the amp and in the loop at the same time? Like a 4 cable method type of thing? Do you still have your Road King rig?

    Cool video!

  • Unfortunately no... there are two inputs, and when you have a cable plugged into the input that the effects loop needs, it disables the drive circuit. I'm sure there a REALLY good reason they did that... just not sure what that is... and YES ABSOLUTELY still have my Road King rig! I just use this small rig when I want to travel light. :) The whole thing (amp and small pedalboard) weighs less than my bigger pedalboard by itself... its awesome...

  • I think the reason is that overdrive/distortion generally sounds better in front of the amp rather than the FX loop.
