The Argentinians had the full auto version of the FN FAL while the Brits had the semi auto. Full auto with the FAL is almost uncontrollable.

Training is the most important, but the different versions of the gun played a big part as well.

Brits took their best , the parachute regiment and marines and sas and had airsupperiority a the argentines had not developed a landing field on the island and had to fly 300 miles giving them a couple of mins flight time while harriers had only 100 miles to fly and much more combat flight time

Springfield is just a Mauser 98 imitation and the Mosin Nagant should have made the list in it's place. Mosin is remarkably durable, simple and is actually quite accurate. Over 12 Million Mosin-Nagants were manufactured.

Dude, the AK-47 was designed for fighting for a range of about 300 metres, go to Iraq right now, they are fighting in close quarters, where an AK-47 would be devastating. If I want an accurate rifle, I would get a bolt action sniper rifle.

it's not accurate at 300 meters, but, you're right about one thing, it would be a good close range weapon that is more dependable than the m16. That's not to say that the M16's dependability isn't good, but the ak is better in that perspective. This is combat RIFLES, and they are supposed to be accurate, if I wanted a gun that didn't have the accuracy of a rifle but was great at close range I'd get a sub machine gun. marines took countless headshots in Iraq from over 400 yds away with M16s

A .22 can "stop" someone, because as I said earlier, with a pierced lung, I sincerely doubt anyone is gonna try and fight back while dying. An M16 will do the job if you know how to shoot well. -AK is inaccurate only beyond normal combat ranges. I could easily score hits at 150meters and in "normal" combat, targets move, ditch, hide, present themselves a little bit differently than in the ranges.

-Recoil is not bad, or your shoulder needs more mucles. Recoil is sharp, but not uncontrollable.
