  • The crowd looks like a zombie hoard

  • @MyOpinionMatterss LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! XD

  • awesome voice!!

  • he should get contacts so his glasses arent always falling off :P amazing performance.

  • He adds a element to any song that freshens it and makes it come alive!

  • Zildjian is the best. Have them on both my sets. And Andrea uses everything, but his best and largest sets he uses Zildjian.... atleast in the vids.

  • ive never seen anyone choke a hi hat before.... i thought you could do that just by putting your foot down :)

  • Good Singer.

  • incribleeeee!!!!!!!!

  • a little to busy at some parts, but brilliant none the less.

  • Amazing talent and great technique but needs to stick with soloing! Sometimes a drummer needs to just keep the groove and in Soul this is truly the case.

  • it´s very good

  • double kick is great but probably uneccessary for this piece

  • on 2:36 he thinks " oh my god, my glasses!!" lol! ;P

  • You cant expect to take vadrum and dont get this. Just wonderfull!

  • He's a great drummer, but needs to learn to play soul music!

  • he uses Zildjian. what?sabian? why here?!?! sabian axxax lol

    Zildjian sounds better

  • @qqwerty1123456 That differs for every drummer.

  • @qqwerty1123456 Because, Sabian pays the bills

  • @qqwerty1123456 sabian is the better half of the family therefore delievering better cymbals

  • His drummin is cool indeed, but it couldn't be further from the style.

  • Without experiments we were still hangin' on trees. Especially without the successful ones. ;)

  • "How to not play soul on drums"

Sorry, I really respect Andrea's drumming skills, but honestly this wasn't the right groovin' for that kind of music. He maybe should have played a rock tune, that would have been perfect for him.

  • @undeknifable I I absolutely agree!

  • Where's the groove?

    20 stelle!

  • vadrum rip

  • for those who say he's playing too hard... this is a drumming contest, you don't get judged on if you have a beat, you get judged on if you're a good drummer- it's kind of like asking Buddy Rich during his solo to play a simple swing beat instead of rolling faster than most drummers can think of

  • @SirDrummerDude amazing, how many people won't get that...... Drummer of Tomorrow contest.....

  • He really overplays ridiculously in this song. It's like if Mike Portnoy raped motown music. He's got chops but realistically play for the song.

  • im not racist but y is there a white girl singing r.e.s.p.e.c.t.

  • @drumdude360 Because she's from Italy. White people don't have to walk on eggshells there.

  • To many fills sometimes kill a good groove...

  • @nachonal1 Too much jealousy sometimes blinds people from enjoying talent

  • AAX kicks ass!

  • VADRUM, COME BACK TO GERMANY!!! I just learned about you T_T

  • This is some shits right there. ;D

  • gay

  • SABIEN AAX !!!!!!!

  • exelent master

  • @saulinbatera

    não tem suingue !!!

  • don't like the snaresound here. I'm missing some punch

  • I'm not so impressed by this, though some of vadrums stuff really rocks!

  • always a need for double pedal...! you serious?

  • he men play very extravagant

  • Andrea is looking so funny when he plays the drums :D

  • anyone know the singer?

  • The singer is amazing.

  • best version. he should be drummer of all songs in the world.

  • youre dumb, I had it first.

  • this is a terrible version

  • I like how he "Metalized" the song^^

  • TOCA MUITO ESSE MENINO

  • TOCA MUITO ESSE MENINO

  • All you whiners don't understand what this man's doing and probably have never heard of him. He is mixing his own style with this funk groove and yes he is using double bass a lot. Do I think it's necessary? No. Do I think he ruins the song with it? No. He is making his own song and even style if you want. You better show some respect for the skill, to adapt to many genres, this man has.

  • take the double pedel away he has nothing

  • awsm!

  • He got that GROOVE!

  • I agree the song is bad but this drummer still plays like a god

  • @pogo108 Errmmm, the son is bad or the version is? 'Cause this song is from the goddess Aretha Franklin, you can't say Aretha is bad, man, really...

  • you noobs obviosly havent heard of vadrum. shut you faces mediocracy practicers

  • trying to hard

  • This is terrible.

  • I'm not a fan. More respect needs to be paid to the simplicity of the Motown drummers. This is too rockish.

  • Meg white would have been more suited, at least she wold keep it simple!!

  • @Steffrocks It astounds me that people think Meg White is anything other then awful

  • @tehswede77 that video she made was ok

  • He has way too much Mike Portnoy influence to even think about trying something like this. He's a great drummer, but he gets so bored I guess that he overplays. He did awesome with his Mario Bros. Tracks but this is just...butchered.

  • he's better without a band way better

  • sembri un cogone

  • Dude like wow, he goes like off time but then lands back in time, that's superb! I like this guy!

  • pow o kra toca de +++

  • love the facial expressions

  • What a silent crowd

  • @RecKLeSFree The sound is coming from the mics they used. the crowd didnt have a mic,

  • he is an amazing drummer with an amazing band. it takes talent to stay in time when he plays some of those crazy syncopated rhythms, i'd imagine

  • double pedal....not neccesary....actualy...to discribe better -->funkavarium!

  • The drum fill at: 1:52 is just crazy

  • I remember my first drum class... I just hit my owm drumsticks and the border of the snare, big shame but worth after some classes and practice xD

  • does anybody think his double bass fills dont fit the song?

  • @speensah146 couldn't agree more.. He's heavily influenced by a bunch of metal drummers, but there is a time and a place :p I would just funk rock the hell out of it instead, but hey, he's got more chops than me!

  • don't give shit about vocals but that's some nice drumming!

  • love the Billy Cobham style of stoppin' the glasses from falling :)

  • For me, a good drummer is one that can:

    1) Keep Flawless time, dont you dare speed up

    2) Accentuate and respond to the play of others in the band

    3) Do some great off time stuff that is unexpected

Vadrum always always hits for #1 and #3. I'm not sure about #2 because I've never jammed with the man, but, you gotta assume that as long as hes not an egocentric ass that he clearly has the ear to pull with the others.

  • The drummer is gifted. I'm yet to hear a decent sound for any of his drums. Get a clue on sound Andrea.

  • He plays right handed but his toms are set up backwards like a lefty set. That's crazy.

  • very good..

  • culd someone tell me which china this is at end please? ^^

  • I agree with the below comment - sometimes a snare sound can be so important its a deciding factor as to whether or not I enjoy a certain band the first time I hear it. Otherwise, been following Vadrucci and I'm glad he's attained some recognition and respect for his talents. Well done!

  • i love andrea's facial expressions! xD

    they're priceless x3

  • STOP SHOWING THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T MATTER. KEEP THE FREAKIN CAMERA ON VADRUCCI

  • this is the ordinary people ... if don't have speed, the drummer sucks ... if have speed, have no soul ... shut up and enjoy the music!! :D

  • no need for double pedal ? just how teh heck do you think those short bursts are done then ? I say double bass adds a whole new dimension for drumming . and andrea is doing 100 % well here , as usual . he shines the joy of playing and looks like a very down to earth guy . world is full of good drummers and andrea def has his place there . those who only go for speed .... please listen only that kind of music . my hats off !

  • AAX Sabian, I agree are some of the best.

  • I like his pre calculated stuff better.

  • Good drummer. WRONG song. Didn't feel the pocket. Too busy with the fills.

  • I think the double bass in this song was a nice addition. Not to make it 'heavy' or 'metal' or anything stupid, but when playing jazz and groovy stuff like this, it adds a nice touch to the song, making it flare out more.

  • lol she spelled respect wrong at 1:52 "RTSPECT??????" lol

  • Dry dry dry and no soul...

  • This was good... but I think there was something missing... like he had no soul in his drumming.. good drummer (I've seen his other video's) but something about this just didn't feel right

  • it needs more cowbell..

  • Critics:

Uh, this is a drum contest. Stale old song, and i DUG IT! Why? The GROOVE is exceptional. The others were overshadowed by him. Do you evolve the song to present day or keep it like the "cover" band originals....? Play it like the 1960's original (which a 13 year old drummer can do) or like the criticized "Progmetal feel". Hmmm the audience will prefer the latter, im sure. "Relatively Good" drummer, my ass.

  • what a band, vadrucci! damn nice vocal too! drums from vadrucci are always fanstastic.

  • They need to bring the toms out more in the mix

  • no need for double pedal in this song

  • @pathemus He likes to use it, so shut up n_n

  • @pathemus No need for you input. Face.

  • @pathemus Theres need for a double pedal in EVERY Song.

  • @pathemus but sound good

  • @alfonsomunoz35 I agree, so very good !

  • @pathemus but it sounds cool

  • @pathemus respect goes BRUTAL

  • @pathemus play like he play champion!

  • @pathemus yes, but there is a need for Andrea Vadrucci in this song. And in Vadrum, there is a need for a double bass pedal.

  • @pathemus

Why not? Who are you to make such statements by the way?

  • @gesztidaniel there is just no needs of double pedal the song doesnt ask for it it is so groovy an double pedal makes it loose double pedal, also doubling or triping on the bass drum is ok, and you can do it with 1 pedal

  • @pathemus every song can benefit from double pedal.

  • @ironman316 @pathemus

Also praticing with a double pedal gives you more independency with feet/hands, especially your left feet. It's a good training. That's why i'm wanting to go buy a double pedal.

  • @pathemus If he was thundering through the song with the double pedal, I'd agree, but it's used artfully and adds to the song.

  • @pathemus Elvis's drummer was using double pedal in this kind of music..a little evocation ;]

  • @pathemus you had to say something? the man is GREAT! what does it mean no need for double pedal? ....pfffff

  • @s7ardust his trying to hard...yuo cant do this kind of fills on a simple song...

  • @pathemus it's hard to resist not to play with it, if it's there :)

  • what a stupid overrated song to play to andrea vadrucci is way better thatn this who made him do this?!

  • I agree ail555, funk songs aren't the vehicle for 128th note snare and bass drum fills. No doubt he can groove with the best of them but just needs to strip it right back in settings such as these. I've seen him straight up groove before so it was probably just a rush of adrenaline that made him bust Paradigm Shift in the middle of RESPECT.

  • ali555 maybe its the whole approach.. i hear ya

  • andrea you rock!!!!!

  • grande!

great! at 1:06 he lifts up his eyeglasses while keeping the groove. Native sense of rhythm!

  • Awgud....

  • He just looks soooo happy when he plays..... thats why i love him so much......he finds the same joy in playing as i do.

  • @jaydubthedrummer There is a time and place for everything, he is playing with a band, not playing by himself at home or making a solo. And in the end what is the main job of a drummer in a band? Its keep up the tempo and guide the whole band thru the songs.. I think he did a great job.

  • This just seems rather mediocre compared to all his others videos.

  • HAIL TO THE KING!!!!!!

  • grande groove collega....me gusta.......

  • fica queto eu sou melhor

    olha depois no meu canal

  • Well, the drummer did a great job with the style. Great drumming not only includes great technique and out of the box fills, but the grove and the feel of the music must be kept meanwhile adding personal color. But I can see how maybe you expected more, especially if you've ever heard any of this guys other drum works.

  • @jorgeyselene like i said, it was a solid performance, not knocking his playing at all, but there was nothing innovative here. some of his other videos are definitely more interesting that this one.

  • check out more vid's of him he's a amaz'in drummer!

  • @ponderingwanderer thats what u call playing in the pocket :)

  • ugh, the camera shifts away from vadrucci everytime he's about to make a really cool drum roll. :|

  • Great singer, great saxophonist, great drummer, great everyone. Sweetest version I've ever heard of this song

  • I think SHE does a good Job !

  • Like you mapex?

  • he need contact lens haha his glasses are about to fall all the time

  • bloody amazing

  • Rispetto per il batterista!

  • This is the first video I've seen of him where he's not wearing headphones inside his house.

  • @greekmusicman same

  • haha! :P

  • 1:54 is my fav

  • this is beast

  • How come he always has his toms going what most people consider as "backwards"? :P

  • it's all about his personal preference. some people like to put them that way. sometimes it's easier to play certain fills and stuff that way.

  • @scienceguyJ his kits are based on the right side of the siamese monster, mike portnoys set-up

  • good fill on 1:10

  • The bass player is shitty. He can't stay behind Andrea. That's the worst thing for a bass player.

  • that snare sounds shit( for some reason i have an extreme obssesion with the sounds of various snares i play) but besides that, Andrea kicked ass and the Band was left behind the dust END OF STORY

  • i agree, the snare is barely noticeable

  • @bacon70722 its out of tune =/

  • @bacon70722 i agree, for some reaso band to band snares sound different, but why?

  • @bacon70722

    yep!

    the snare is german :-P

  • @Dominomusicians Quality :D

  • @bacon70722 so, if lars ulrich, from the legendary band METALLICA, came with you, with her drum, and says you that ^you can touch her drum¨ but unfortunately, the sound of her drum, doesn´t like you, so you don´t touch it.? í am a drummer too, but c´mon maybe you are the bad drummer that makes the drum sounds bad, fuck you man, seriously

  • Comment removed

  • @hadarak1000 Ok, i see you're foreign or you simply cant spell good so i wont take the piss out of you for that but let's get one thing straight. It's like i said before how i've got my habit of deciding which snares sound good tae me and those that dont, i'm a pretty good drummer and i've made drums sound bad sometimes so yeah. But at the end of it all, it's just my opinion.

P.S. Lars Ulrich is a guy.

  • @bacon70722 finally somebodya that understands how anal one can be when it comes to the sound of a snare.... I am the same....
