I love you Johnny! SMILE! My dad, who also has a golden voice used to always sing your songs to me and my siblings, and I have seen you in concert twice in my life time. Thank you so much for bringing fond memories to me today because your voice was a part of my childhood and I will forever respect your willingness to share your gift with the Universe. Sincerely, Cynthia L. Mann
Believe it or not, this is my favorite Beatles' cover. I've been waiting for years for someone to step forward and try to out do this but no one dares. This ballad is to me McCartney's best. This arrangement along with the Mathis vocals are without compare. "I want her everywhere..."
I love to do research on songs. I found the following on this song, "Paul McCartney wrote this around June, 1966 while he was sitting around John Lennon's pool. It's considered to be his greatest love song, he wrote it as a reply to The Beach Boys, 'God Only Knows.' "
Im not really crazy about this recording.......I dont know if its the song or what........Johnny does not seem to be flowing as he always does....seems to me the song is going nowhere fast....maybe its just me

I think the special Mathis vocals aren't shown off here like they are in other songs. It's just so-so.
