Ace doesnt get much credit from "real players" but as far as I am concerned he OWNED the 70s. No other guitarist could touch him. Thats not to say that hes the best player BUT hes the greatest in that brand of playing. And KISS live discs prove how hot he was. His solos are memorable and they all are distinctive in their tone. He used only a few effects,ever, but they always burst through the speakers. Compare todays players flurry of notes for their LACK of saying anything. But Ace could speak.

Ace is fucking excellent player. Sure there are faster or more technically accomplished guys out there, but Ace has a style thats his own, soul, passion, tone, killer vibrato, and every solo he has ever done is memorable, I'l bet most of us could sing his solos, they are always perfect for the song, and you cant say that about a lot of shredders, for every genius there are a million guys who blaze away and you cant remember a thing they have done. Ace is a great rock n roll guitarist.

If you look at other guitar players they have different styles of playing.

I play my self and I can tell you that Ace is in fact the best there is in this style of playing, he invented it and thats why I love it.

Bruce has a hybrid playing of Slash/Van Halen style.

Ace's playing is more straight forward, if you listen to other solos after one another you can here that they arent that different, but you get influenced to belive that one is better than the other cause you like it better.

Not only did Bruce Kulick play for KISS longer than the spacey one he is a far better guitar player and the shows without makeup drew alot bigger crowds. Now of course a reunion tour would have drew bigger crowds but that was only temporary and short lived you fucking idiot!!!

Remember when Kiss released the 4 solo albums? Who had the most popular album with the most songs used in concert? ACE FREHLEY. Kiss went through 4 guitarists after Ace left before they finally broke down and put together the reunion tours just to get Ace back and draw the fans back to their shows. ACE WAS KISS and never forget it.

The one thing you have to realize about Gene and KISS nowadays is that they're playing it safe by playing the old standards concert after concert. I think Gene and Paul have been living on the West Coast too long. It's made them professionally and artistically soft.

Love the old stuff, but after watchin the reunion DVD's seems like Gene n Paul picked the same ol' stuff, disregardin what Ace, Peter, or the fans wanted 2 hear. This could of boosted the set list, along with: Save Your Love, X-Ray Eyes, Ladies In Waiting, Hard Luck Woman, etc....
