I think the real reason for this provocation is a sick attempt by kim to jumpstart his economy. The Iran invasion has been bluntly rejected by the public so the US feels it has no other option but to start a war in the Koreas. I think the real reason for this provocation is a sick attempt by kim to jumpstart his economy. Remember the U.S pulled out of the depression by entering a world war, shiftting to a total war economy and thus producing labor and a market for weaponry. Greater steps for diplomacy is what's needed to bring abouts calm to NK. SK needs to keep a cool head and not provoke any further action against its neighbour otherwise things will indeed get a lot worse, on a final point, don't trust the U.S or let them anywhere near the region. You're guaranteed a fully blown conflict otherwise. If on the other hand the president in SK turns out to be a puppet, then we're looking at a potential war.
