  • Wonder if a reaper can harm a weeping angel.

  • i find it hard to belive that a 15ft dragon can sneak up on peopel lol

  • And what have we learned???

    The first phone call was;

Watson Come here, I need you.

    :)

  • This was one of my favorite episodes

  • I did not remember the opening scene with the boy in the park.

  • @ronojns Its not an opening scene i'm sure its after rose saves her father, and the boy is Mickey :D

  • @wullieboy991 You are right about it not being the opening scene, or I am not sure, but I did not remember the scene as the boy played in the park and then ran around the corner into the church. Some scenes fall through the cracks of our memory no matter how many times you watch it, and I have no idea how many times I have watched this episode.

  • @ronojns Yeah, and at the time, I hadn't seen the episode in a little while but I'd sworn I had seen that before but Im gonna watch it again to see if I can see it lol

  • @ronojns that was little Mickey lol

  • totally watching that episode now

  • Yes Rose, it is your fault...

  • please post full episodes!!!

  • David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston, two best Doctor's ever, respectively.

  • Tom Baker and Christopher Eccleston - the two main reasons I'm hooked on Doctor Who

  • Chris is the best Doctor EVER!!!

  • This waz an awsum episode

  • full episodes at sidereel.com

  • Did this remind anyone else of the start of invasion of the dinosaurs?

  • @3:18 Poor Chris sounds like he had a very sore throat.

  • The scene with the reaper snatching the kids on the palyground are omitted from the german DVD edition -.-

  • @KingLofiOne Really!!?? Why?

  • @TheTardisDreamer Probably deemed too violent? The 2nd series of New Who was also heavily cut in germany - on DVD it was rated "FSK 16" (Only suitable for Kids of 16 years and up). This is why the series was cancelled here after series 2, as 16 year olds couldn't see why they should watch it as they didn't find it violent at all and young children could not watch it because it aired late at night.

  • @KingLofiOne That's crazy! What is Pooh Bear rated? 13 plus??!! But really I saw more violent television when I was two and that seems really unfair for you. It would've annoyed a lot of people and if this is seen as too scary than Germany must have trouble getting TV shows from overseas that are okay for family viewing. I saw a show rated PG where they had people being drowned in wine and it gave me nightmares when I was 10(I think) but Doctor Who started when I was... 8? And it NEVER did!

  • @TheTardisDreamer Pooh Bear is rated FSK 0. The implied themes are sometimes more than enough to bump up the rating of a show here.

  • @KingLofiOne Yeah... I guess it varies country to country but it is a shame that they had to change it all... They should sell a full version the next rating up so at least you can see it... eventually... Did they still sell all the other series after series 2?

  • @TheTardisDreamer Nope. They still air Torchwood uncut, which is more brutal, but Dr.Who went of the air because the public opinion was that it was too boring, complicated and not brutal enough (!), so the channel only bought series 1 and 2, dubbed them and did never release any other WHOniverse-media. The released, cut DVD sets are grossly overpriced (29.99€ for Series 1, 50€ for Series 2). Fortunately, I am well versed in the english language, so I just bought the english DVD sets online.

  • @TheTardisDreamer As you can see, viewers are morons. You shouldn't be surprised, though - everything that once made german TV great is gone and everything that is not "The Super Nanny" "Frauentausch" (Wife Swap), other seemingly real but ultimately fake shows and various incarnations of CSI or a cooking show is off the air. This is why on my TV I only play DVDs of shows I like or documentations.

  • "My Dad was out there!""

    "You can mourn him later..."

    LOL! Only the 9th doctor!

  • Does Rose'sdad look like Arthur Wealsys from HP?

  • Matt smith is well sexy I dunno why the haters hate

  • i soooooooo

    rmember this ep :)

  • @MermaidJess22 Pfft You have given me no actual proof, fact or evidence of why he is crap, you just said he was ugly and then went off to bum David some more, so he was voted number one Doctor, by who? Dumbass fangirls like you who watch Doctor Who for what? Fanservice? Bitch please, you probably don't know shit about Doctor Who, David has other talents? Nobody gives a shit, after this, he will be forever known for his role as Ten, and nothing more. Even Tom Baker said so.

  • @Ichiryu666 I agree that Smith shouldn't be bashed because I think he's great too, but lay off Tennant, yes he happens to be handsome but he's also a fantastic Doctor and actor. He does have other talents, did you see him in Hamlet? He was great! And to be honest so what if people remember him just as Doctor Who? That's how people remember Hartnell or Baker, doesn't make them any less awesome! Also when did Tom Baker say that?? He said he thought Tennant was excellent in a Radio Times interview.

  • @mybestfrendsafrog I know, I was imitating Tennant fans about what they say about Smith. I actually think Tennant is brilliant at what he does. And when I say Tom Baker said so, I meant he said "If you play Doctor Who, thats who you will be remembered as for the rest of your acting career."

  • @Ichiryu666 I think Christopher Eccleston will be remebered for other things and perhaps a little for being Doctor who.

  • this episode was so cute, i love that little boy Mickey runs up to adult Rose and just hugs her tight! <3 :D

  • The reason why SMith's doctor is such an "asshole" is because he is now the last of his race, because of his own actions, and he realizes that. He is responsible for billions of "deaths" including the daleks and others caught in the nightmare child. He is bitter because of what he sees as the universe forcing his lot upon him, despite his supposed control over every aspect of it.

  • @jimrobmicah Really? Is Smith's Doctor really an asshole? All I've seen are hints of romance between him and Amy, and yeah, I know the character's married, but the clips and all on YT love to point to those two. I haven't seen him in a full episode yet. Sounds intriguing...and promising!!

  • Just watching this for Christopher's accent tbh. I miss him :( </3

  • I loved Eccleston, he was awesome at bringing the Doctor back. Tennant is my favourite of the new guys, and Smith's growing on me.

  • EL MEJOR DOCTOR WHO ES CRISTOPHER ECCLESTON!!!

  • i remember the epsode where no10 was blown up by a guided missile and i would wish it would happen in real life with all the mps in no10 espelialy james cameron inside with cherly cole and simon cowel inside no10 and kill them and the mps

  • "Oh I might've known you'd argue..."

I really enjoy Matt Smith's whimsical Doctor, but we need more Doctors like Eccleston's! Stubborness comes with old age :D

  • @PinstripeShirt Tennant was and is the best smith is a complete asshole

  • @MermaidJess22 Tennent was a snappy dresser.

  • @PinstripeShirt what?

  • @MermaidJess22 OH FFS! I've had it with fucking Tennant fans constantly bashing Smith! Will you all get over the fact that your eye candy is gone?! Smith hasn't done anything to deserve the crap he gets from Tennant fans other than the fact the he happend to take over when Tennant said "I've had enough of this." You should be grateful that a fantastic actor like Matt Smith has managed to follow the example that Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant made.

  • @MermaidJess22 you're a complete asshole

  • @tayfun0107 your a complete dickhead

  • i now have the sudden urge to watch episode again lol :)

  • I think I have to get the DVDs of the new series.

  • This episode saddened me so much but the rift was created due to Rose and the monsters are just trying to heal the rift.

  • @GhostOfACPast Actually, they are not trying to heal the rift, they're taking advantage of it. Like if you got a cut (that would be the rift, caused by Rose), and then bacteria got into it (that would be the reapers). I didn't figure this out until watching the episode a billion times, because it's only mentioned really briefly.

  • I think I need to rewatch season one...

  • I liked this Doctor because he was a badass, I mean not my favorite but better than Tennant imo.

I dislike the assistant sooooooo much though she was really meh.

  • Listen to that music! Those screams! Those horrific creatures! David Tennant's Doctor changed the entire feel of the show to more action/adventure. (Matt Smith's Doctor changed the feel of the show to more deduction and thinking) Eccleston was at times real horror! The Empty Child, Bad Wolf, Killer Shop Window Dummies and this! The little bits I've seen from the Old Who was that it could be just as terrifying or even more. I saw the Fourth Doctor get buried in the Robots of Death. Terrifying!

  • To BBC Worldwide. Clips are fine in themselves, but it was watching full episodes on YouTube that pushed me into buying series one to four for myself just recently. My ex husband left with all the box sets that, coincidently, I had bought him as gifts as he said that he was a Whovian. So, posting full episodes of the new series could bring in more revenue from people like me. You know it makes sence. ; )

  • Notice how Eccleston struggles not to grin as he's telling Camille what for...

  • god i really wish eccleston had stayed on for another series, he was awesome (don't give me hate replies saying tennant was better cos i already think that)

  • @CheesyAbs6

who knows... me too, I wish he had stayed... than again, I wish Tennant could stay for the 5th series... still can't imagine Matt Smith in the Doctor's shoes...

anyway, he was a great Doctor... looked more like the "old" ones - not too handsome, but so weird...

  • the best AHA moment if I ever saw one 3:20

I love how Chris Eccleston could be so excited about the little things like the first telephone call, even when monsters are destroying the earth because his girlfriend screwed up! His mind is going a thousand places at once. It's such a pleasure to watch Eccleston's great acting

  • this is the kind of episode that makes doctor who live up to its potential, builds up good suspense from the start, scary, dramatic music and an excellent idea for a CGI monster. when i first watched this, i could not watch again until 2 years later

  • Christopher Eccleston is a brilliant actor. If he's in a programme, you know it is worth watching.

  • I just love that Doctor!! I wish they would still play these on SciFi every now and then. These were the things I looked forward to toward the end of the day.

  • watching this, I wanted to cry! I miss Chris Eccleston as the Doctor! I loved him furiously as Nine and cried buckets when he left. His dark, moody, character did wonders for the doctor and excellently paved the way for another wonderfully "Fantastic" man to take the helm....David Tenant! two "brilliant" and "fantastic" men...Matt Smith break a leg!

  • Rose changing time lines doesn't work too well DW knows how to manipulate those Timey Wimey things.

  • mickey is always keeping it real

  • The Eccleston epsiodes scared the hell out of me. Hope they bring back the fear in series 5.

  • Watching this I some times think I loved Christifor as much as David. They were totally different. I loved this guy and I hated David for replacing him AT THE TIME. But I turned out to love him, so I'm gonna give Matt a try.

  • @lolgal4 Yay for rational thinking :D

  • No because time wasn't changed in the waters of mars, the Doctor just made it happen a different way. So the outcome was the same.

  • I love this episode

but after it they never bring up reapers ever again.

  • exactly i lov the reapers

  • Yes, Time Lords can stop this from happening. But they are all gone. As The Doctor mentions.

  • WE WANT FULL EPISODES!

  • @midnight121dotcom get the dvds u n00b

  • @midnight121dotcom Want Full episodes? You got em' go onto Netflix.

  • "Is this my fault?" Yes, Rose, you stupid ape. lol. I love Eccleston, so much!

  • bring back christopher eccleston

  • maybe next time they have a multi-doctor story

  • @william2907922 puh-leeeeze!!!!!! i miss chris!!!

  • Is it me, or is Eccleston struggling not to laugh while he's shouting at Camille Cadouri?

  • this episode was so sad :(

  • what a great episode

  • Me encanta Chris Eccleston!!!Sus actuaciones son exquisitas,ni que decir de sus bellos y expresivos ojos azules...No me pierdo sus películas!!!No hay,ni habrá otro Doctor Who como él!!!

  • lol he's bein pushed on da swing and then she disapears
