  • The trick for him will be to learn the rules of MLS as they are and not waste time complaining that things should be done in a "more European" way. I think he'll be great as long as he hits the pitch running. :)

  • As a player Erik Solér played two full seasons for Norwegian side SK Brann, in 1986 and 1987. I don't know whether it is a coincidence or destiny, but Brann happened to be the first soccer team EVER to have it's jersey presented at the new Red Bull Arena. You can see a picture of this if you check out our web site, branndotus. Click on Photos and then scroll down a little.

SK Brann is the only Scandinavian team that has a supporters club in the US. We proudly welcome Erik Solér as GM!

  • at least he understands that the fan base is important !

  • Come on! What is there to know about "the game in the states". Its soccer, only thing that is special about the MLS is that it sucks compared to european leagues.

  • Only concern I have is that he doesn't have much knowledge of the game in the states. Other than that he seems like a solid selection. I hope he learns quickly!!

  • fingers crossed... I won't provide negative vibes and hate on this pick until it (hopefully doesn't) produce yet another 2009 season. positive support... positive support... wooo-sahhh...

  • if this is what he said during his interview, I wouldnt even sign him. I would only hire him as a Psychologist so he could help our players after the horrible 2009 season

  • he said it himself

he doesnt know alot about American soccer
