I talk like Dr. Malachi York...play da sidewalk..hold fort...Diamond Plate Chain...gold fork. iLL. Come on niggas gotta respect Nas versatility look how many different ways he done took it in his career.
I dug Queensbridge back in the day when Marly Marl had his hold on the hottest new talent comin' out of Queensbridge like Crag G and Roxanne Shanté and Big Daddy Kane, Lords of the Underground (New Jersey Drive), and Kool G. Rap. Those were the days, when Hip hop was in its infancy and the best samples came out of Queensbridge. Even Yo MTV Raps was pretty hot, boosting Children's Story by Slick Rick and lots of EPMD and KRS-One and Scott LaRock. I only wish I could relive those days, man.
I remember this track. I heard it bac in 1999. I've been looking for it ever since. I thought it would be on Nas' "I Am" album but evidently it wasn't.
This song has some of the best raps you will ever hear. How funny, nobody has ever heard of it. I am sure if the lyrics sucked and they repated the choros 100 times in a southern accent it would be a hit. How depressing.
