  • i'm a taxi driver here in singapore. over here we drive the new 2009 sonata turbodiesels and my god was it such a pleasure. it has a variable geometry turbo which is used for big trucks to kick in more rpm even in 5th gear. and since it's used in a car, and mine is a "ripped-off" taxi version weighing 200kg less, it actually outrun a porsche 911 gt3..yes i raced once :P and whatever they said in the vid abt the car is true..and i bought a sonata for myself too!

  • car allready designed back in 2005 ! only new interior now with diesel engine...do not like the outside protectors running along the doors and body though.do you agree?

  • хуй

  • This is ridiculous. Does this mean Hyundai cars are pretty much engineered and built by white Americans?

And I thought Hyundai was a Korean company?

But now this explains that Hyundai is only just a name only company and in reality, an American car brand.

  • برب ادور على الجنوووووووط

  • i gettt this is in two weeks:)

  • i drove the 2009 sonata and i fell in love with it! most likely going to get one.. btw great car

  • tons of customers r not satisfied wit hyundai own tranny have a look at consumerreport and this is it look :watch?v=V71o5golqf4

  • this is my problem on my sonata 2007 V6, can i just change old valve to new design valves?

  • where can I buy new valves of transmission for my sonata 2007 V6? it is really not fun to drive?! or should i buy valve body ? what should I do i to increase hp from 233 to 249HP? please help i want my transmission shift smooth

  • the passat cc is better

  • @flip92 So is the Veyron,,

  • @flip92 passat cc vs sonata is like comparing an ipod mini to an ipod touch

  • I almost bought one of these, I wish I had now. I test drove the 4 cylinder, and the V6 Limited. I loved the V6. Planning on buying the new model in 2011.

  • I bought this car last year and it's great! Better than I expected especially for the price.

The main reason I bought this car was because of the interior and exterior design.

The interior owns any car in it's class and even looks better than more expensive cars like the Toyota Avalon, Nissan Maxima and Hyundai Azera.

The car is quiet, smooth and responsive. Great job Hyundai!

  • @EliteSlayer542 look watch?v=V71o5golqf4

  • @EliteSlayer542

I'm glad you are happy with your American car.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS American car? You mean Korean. And yes I'm happy with it. Over a year and no problems at all. So far it's been fantastic but the new 2011 sonata is even better. Better in every way in fact. Oh well, still happy with my car.

  • @EliteSlayer542

Look at this video. And you will see what I mean.

Where do you see a Korean here?

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS I took a look at your profile and I'd just like to say that we couldn't possibly be any different.

I dislike muscle cars and new model Toyotas. I'm an atheist, I have no interest in politics and my fav car brands are as follows :Mercedes, Audi, Aston martin, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Porsche, Hyundai and Infniti.

I'm huge car guy and I know my stuff, but I do not understand your dislike towards European/Korean brands.

  • @EliteSlayer542

That is not what I asked, and you didn't answer my question. Where do you see a Korean here? Tell me how Hyundai is actually a Korean brand.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS This video is simply being presented by Americans because the video was filmed in the U.S I happen to know all of hyundais cars are designed in Korea by Koreans.

And even if they were Americans designing the cars how does that affect anything at all?? As long as they make good cars I don't care who the hell is making/designing them.

  • @EliteSlayer542

Name me some of the key engineers who developed Hyundai Sonata and Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

And the Americans engineering a Korean brand doesn't surprise you? I guess you should check out the behind the scenes videos of Lexus LFA, LS, Nissan GT-R, Subaru Impreza WRX STI and so on, and see if there are any white Americans engineering them.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS I wouldn't know where to look to find who engineered the Sonata and Genesis, but I do know that they are designed, created and assembled in Korea.

And like I said, why does it matter if an American works on a Hyundai? Why do you care if the Lexus LFA and Nissan GTR are made by Japanese people or not? Why does that matter?

  • @EliteSlayer542

Why does that matter...? That's quite a laughable question. Thanks to the Globalists like you, the culture and the traditions are being lost in this world.

I guess you wouldn't care even if the car was engineered and built by the Taliban or some wackos.

I can see why you like Hyundai so much. Hyundai just suits you.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS Okay that's it dude. Your crazy. I like Hyundai because they make good CARS. you know, the thing you drive around? Thats good.

I don't pay any attention to religion and politics like you do because it makes people crazy like yourself.

  • @EliteSlayer542

That's funny, just because you can not handle the truth doesn't mean you should blame it on to the others. Religion nor politics has nothing to do with anything here, and sorry, if you were living in a dictatorship country, then you wouldn't even be talking to me right now but living like a slave eating like a dog. Politics is important to everyone, but someone with such low self esteem driving a Hyundai would not understand the importance of politics, obviously.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS YOU DON'T GET IT. I bought my Hyundai becuase the car was good. Do you understand that?? I don't give a shit who the hell made/engineered the bloody thing as long as the car is good i don't care!

And nobody else cares either! Hyundai is growing extremely quickly and their CARS get better every year. Nobody gives a shit about who made the car!

  • @EliteSlayer542

    I do. The enthusiasts do.

Hyundai made a Genesis Coupe. Was it made by the Koreans? It damn very well be, or if that is also like this video, then Hyundai might as well just call itself an American company and move the HQ to the United States, because calling it Korean is just embarrassing to say the least when it wasn't.

If it was made by the Koreans, where is a tuning division for the Genesis Coupe? Or a racing record?

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS Hyundai is new company and they're growing fast. Very fast.

And one of the things that sets us apart is when you said you see "culture" and "nationality" in cars. For me stuff like culture means nothing. And the only tradition I know of is stuffing a firework in one of buddies pockets on Canada day.

And as for the genesis, It wouldn't surprise to me if Americans were behind the whole thing. But all I care about is driving a well made car at the end of the day.

  • @EliteSlayer542

I have been doing some research just now, and it does not seem like I can find the name of a single engineer who made Genesis Coupe. This is quite interesting, because it means Hyundai is somehow not confident about showing their engineers. Most likely means it was the Americans, not Koreans.

And I'm not surprised, since Canada has no culture nor tradition....nor a country.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS I can agree on Canada having no culture/tradition but we're still a country. We have our land, a population and a government. That's a country in my book.

And like I said, Me and most people don't care about who made the genesis, but we do care about the fact that its an excellent car.

  • @EliteSlayer542

    Fair enough.

  • @EliteSlayer542

And you make it sound like you just bought it because it was reasonably priced and has good options.

    That's it? Is that all?

    .....

When I see a car, I see a culture. Nationality. Tradition.

And you just make it sound like Hyundai is just a cheap car with good stuff in it and nothing more. Do you really think Hyundai will ever get bigger this way?

  • @EliteSlayer542

Let me get this straight with you, I mean no harm, at all. All I am asking you is who engineered Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Because it is almost becoming like a myth, how did this nobody company all of a sudden build up a car like a Genesis Coupe? Genesis Coupe was actually even rated better than other American pony cars somehow and it is not easy making a car like that.

So then the question is, who really engineered the Genesis Coupe? Americans?

  • @EliteSlayer542

And what really made me laugh is you told me about yourself when no one even asked you to.

Before calling someone crazy, you should look into the mirror first.

  • @EliteSlayer542

The companies that are confident about their own engineering tend to show their names, like Kazutoshi Mizuno, the man who built Nissan GT-R. He calls GT-R, a Nihon(Meaning Japan in Japanese) GT-R. Why? Because he is proud of his Japanese supercar.

The CEO of Toyota, Akio Toyoda. The man who gave the go sign to LFA.

    LS, pure Japanese engineering.

And then I see this video, and it's quite, pathetic. This is why Hyundai, is garbage.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS You make no sense. Your saying that Hyundai is garbage simply because it is partly made by Americans???

Who the hell cares!! If the car itself is good at the end (and all Hyundais are) than why do you care who makes them? tell me!

  • @EliteSlayer542

"Partly"? Do you know what "partly" even means? Where do you see a Korean guy even designing anything in the video? All I see is the Americans building this car.

And Hyundai is good? Ya, I'm sure it's good, when the company has no racing history, no lap time record on Nurburgring, no good rally records, nor a good reputation.

And when was the last time Hyundai advertised their cars as a "Korean" car? They usually show Japanese stuff to make people think it's Japanese.

  • @EliteSlayer542

So, let me ask you again. If you can not find it yourself, then "How" exactly do you know that the Hyundai cars are actually engineered by the Koreans?

If it is just an assumption of yours, then sorry, that's invalid as an argument.

And the funniest part is, I have never seen a Korean engineer being on a commercial explaining about Genesis Coupe like Nissan 370Z engineer guy did. So really, who engineered it?

  • @EliteSlayer542

And most importantly, I am not interested in getting to know you.

I am only asking you a question.

  • I drove the V6, its drives really nice, smooth and good acceleration.

  • Fuck head hyundai Dont Sucks !! .

and not all are copy cars like SANTA FE OR I30 AND I10 so

  • Hyundai's have gotten better over the years to match Toyota or ford in quality / better but they will never compare to audi, bmw, mercedes, and volvo for example. And Awhile ago these cars were just shit but they have improved and i give them a thumbs up, good practical car

  • the quality of there cars is actually better check out jd power they have the highest quality among non lux brands and the reliability is tied with ford

  • that's what they said about Japanese cars. I think Lexus stacks up to Audi, BMW and Merce. Give them time. I don't see why they can't at the rate that their going. I mean what makes others so special that they can't be touched? It's preposterous.

  • well in a way your right, the Lexus IS is quite nice so is Acura and Infinity so they can be compared to the German cars but Hyundai is in a different class like ford, Honda and Toyota etc... and i think they should remain their because that's what most people will buy. But even if they did advance and be compared to German cars i wouldn't buy one because they don't have the heritage and prestige of a Mercedes and BMW

  • Lamborgini started out by making tractor. BMW started out by making airplanes. Merce started out by making cars for common folk. Why should Hyundai stay where they are and not continue to improve like these guys? Are european car makers more special that they can't be touched? That's elitist bullshit. Besides, low end car market will eventually get more competitions from China and India. More lucrative market is in luxury cars. Hyundai knows it.

  • And unless these Euro snobs don't keep improving like Hyundai does, sitting on past laurels and "heritage", they will be taken over in a matter of time. People forget, they too have humble beginning. And you have to work your ass off to stay on top.

  • yeah, you talk about driving a prestigious car and yet your grammar is still at your elementary school level. What an accomplishment.

  • But we love Jap shit!

  • STFU U RACIST AMERICANS!!!!

  • is that right? next time think about that when you post from ur pc which is 80% manufactured by us chinks. Oh and not to mention that 90% of Jap and Korean cars are built in the US, employing citizens...you dumb fuck

  • hyundai simply rocks! superb car. two thumbs up!

  • In fact, I'm getting ready to trade my car(AMG CLK430) in for an '09 Sonata V6 in the next 2 months.

  • What 'rctsos' is saying is very easy to understand (if you read carefully). He is basically saying that Hyundai is only able to deliver quality products in *foreign*(US) markets by reducing the quality of its *domestic* products. It uses its Korean cost savings to create better US cars.

  • No offense, but you are not really making any sense at all. You're writing is hard to follow

  • Comment removed

  • I have the 2009 Sonata and the quality is there. Agree the original Hyundais weren't very well made but they've done their homework and is surpassing the domestics and even Japanese cars. Now they're going after the European cars. Hyundai has the best warranty and has the least recalls. I've owned Pontiacs, Chevys and Fords and they have a long list of recalls. Japanese cars specially Toyota, Nissan and Honda also has had an increase in recalls.

  • Comment removed

  • what da hell u sayin? lol

If you are trying to say that Korean version is much better, then you are wrong!! Just because Hyundai is cheaper in the U.S. does NOT mean that U.S versions are in less quality. The main reason of the difference prices is the market!! If you know anything about market value and taken an econ class, you would know the reason behind it. In Korea, there is such a thing called heavy tariff and/or quota on Auto industry. That is one of the reason why hyundai became..

  • the last time I checked,I live in the u.s! so who cares.the u.s automakers are slowly destroying themselves, and hyundai is likely to take over here in america after they finish the job.hyundai is a great company who cares about thier customer base.cannot say this about the big 3.

  • No offense, but you are not really making any sense at all. You're writing is hard to follow

  • Hyundai's transmissions are just as reliable as any other. My automatic is at 150,000 miles with no problems.

  • Only 3 negative things about Hyundai(mostly all of them):

    1. Uncomfortable seats (short cushion)

    2. Soft springs (leans a lot)

    3. Weak transmissions (90-100.000 pretty much its limit)

IF Hyundai wants to improve: adopt Audi A6 or Saab 9-3 seats and GM 4T45 - 4T60 transmissions.

  • if people weren't stubborn assholes and would service the hyundai transmissions with the diamond full synthetic like they are instructed to do,they wouldn't have the problems with the slipping and premature failures! 4t60 not that great-4t45 better.

  • We bought a 2006 Sonata with only 25k miles. We love it... rides smooth, every think is well built, the V6 has plenty of power ive had it up to 140 mph. Plenty of leg room for back seat passengers... unlike some Hondas and Toyotas that are cramped up.

They are well made cars. Hyundai Genesis won 2009 family Car of the year for a reason.

They are really pushing the Hyundai ,i see tv commercials all the time saying how they are taking on Honda ,BMW etc... they will be all over the roads.

  • I worked at Kirmac Collision in BC, Canada. We have over 60 courtesy car fleet comprising of 08 Sonata and Camry. They are very similar but we found that Sonatas have been way more reliable. Toyota's quality is is not what it used to be anymore in comparison to other companies. For god sake, even Buick are more reliable than Toyotas these days.

  • I convinced my Aunt in switching from Oldsmobile to Toyota, and she has LOVED her '01 Avalon for years now without trouble. Another example, is my Dad whose loved Buicks and Cheverolets all his life, but is now FINALLY getting rid of his '98 Buick Century for an '09 Limited Sonata. Point here folks, we all know the "Big 3" are suffering BADLY...!!! That said, instead of "limiting oneself", give Hyundai a try. I guarantee with the '09 Sonata's MAJOR improvements, they have the others nervous...

  • J.D. Power & Associates, along with Consumer Reports, have rated the Sonata VERY well with regards too saftey & overall reliability. However..."people are people", and its unfortunate, that Hyundai's inital reputation got a bad rap. This said, i just don't think people are ready too "shake" or should i say sway there opinions, in a more positive light on this manufacturer. My whole family, has been GM for years, then i convinced my Aunt a long time Oldsmobile lover to switch too Toyota......

  • If there is a person in Youtube who thinks hyundai cars are shitty AFTER actually using one, I'd listen.

Otherwise.. Just shut the fuck up.

Don't talk or even think when you know nothing.

I bet many parts in the computer you are using right now were built by Korean technology. You don't complain because "Made in Korea" sign is hidden in there and you can't see it.

If you don't see it, it doesn't exist in your level.

  • I'd rather see Made in Korea or Japan than Made in CHINA!!!!

  • put out the truth man!!!! obviously korea and japan are better than china in terms of quality.

  • BLAH BLAH BLAH..

  • I think hyundai cars are great, but still I prefer Japanese cars. American cars are the worst it designed with a stupid way even when they come up with a good car we find out that its koreian for example apica.

  • stupid is great car!!!

  • hyundai vehicles are great, i own 1 and love it.

my 01 elantra has been more reliable than any american car i ever owned.

  • We have a misconception that Japanese cars are trouble free. Just go the Honda dealer or Toyota etc and you will see all the cars in for repairs. My niece has a 1998 Honda Accord which was subjected to more than 8 recalls.

  • Koreans aren't that smart to design cars to a certain standard, so that's why they've hired US, Americans or Canadians and used our technology, and used it in their product! In a way, i think that's smart to use our tech and intelligence and using us to make their product better, but if they were that smart, they would never hire North Americans to design their product and do the things by themselvs!! OR, this video is all PHONY! all the customr needs are just made up!

  • I guess u don't know much about the car industry, do you think all Japanese cars are designed by Japanese. Some of these Japanese imports are designed in California by American designers. Almost every auto company has used other nationals to design their vehicles. Alos the Japs take many of their design cues from the European models. You just learned sometime on youtube!

  • Hyundai means modern in Korean. Did anyone know that?

  • Well I knew that and did u no the chinese hyundai name is Xian die which means modern too.

  • lol

  • I think it's funny that the US has such a huge involvement in Hyundai vehicle development. We style them. We tweak the engineering. Aren't they built in the US too? I don't think it's a coincidence that Hyundai quality has improved with American involvement.

  • This is just to show that American Engineers and workers are top notch. Yet companies like GM, Ford and Crysler are failing. It's because of bad management. I'm the proud owner of 2 Hyundai's, and both where build in the USA.

  • I think you are right. It must be bad management at the big three. This shows that Americans, under proper management, are capable of designing a stylish, affordable car. Now if only the big three could get it together and do the same! I will say though, they are doing much better than a few years ago. Quality might not be as good as the best, but it's way better than what it was.

  • No kidding the Accord is a joke. I just did the "build and price" feature on a fully loaded V6 sedan and it was about $34k, which included a $2,900(!) chrome wheel option.. Then I built and priced a Sonata and it was about $26k loaded. You CAN'T justify $8k more for an Accord. Gimme a break! Beside, Accords aren't bullet-proof. Many people have their automatics fail before 100k miles. Honda has gotten really obnoxious in their pricing to the point they aren't worth it anymore. Same for Toyota.

  • i think some hyundai models now are even better than the honda and toyota with a side by side comparison.

  • No doubt. A couple weeks ago I looked at the new Civic and Elantra. The Elantra is much nicer. Interior plastics and fabrics looked much better. I prefer the styling of the Elantra too. Looks more sophisticated and classy. Civic looks sharp, but the dashboard is ugly and busy and interior quality actually looks a bit cheap in comparison. Comparably equipped, the Elantra is about $2,000 less, plus it has a 2.0L 4cyl. versus the Civic's tiny 1.8L. I bet it's as whiny as every Civic of the past.

  • i love hyundai sonata :)

  • I love my '06 Sonata! Great car!

  • same here. i have 34000 miles and no real issues.

  • ... Hyundai is a brand.. not a car interesting...

  • i dont find that sonata ugly at all :S

  • the hyundai sonata is very business looking with a european styling...now that's not a bad thing is it?...

  • omg, they pay a dude just to do cup holders... I would be so good that that job.

  • You have obviously never driven or owned one.

  • he hasn't

  • You are so 10 years ago

  • nice car.
