Iv been pulled over about 6 times, not 1 time did they check anything such as insurance or license, most want to know how I did it.There are all kinds of weird cycle type contraptions running around here, they dont seen to have any troubles either.Iv had several cops do a quick U turn, get behind me see the tag and just go away.So far its all good.
I see these are the only two videos you've posted. Would it be safe to assume you've been pulled over, and cited as your bike no longer being street legal? As if we didn't know, a motorcycle is ruled as having no more than three wheels on the ground. As soon as you put that 4th tire on, it became a car
If you got wrecked, how do you explain that to your insurance company?
Good luck with that being street legal. I know someone who got a Honda Big Wheel (motorcycle with big wide knobby tires) licensed. He someone how got it passed the DMV and got it licensed. The cops pulled him over everywhere he went because they knew it didn't meet the criteria like the tires are in no way DOT approved, etc. There's no way the tires on a quad would be approved either. You will be pulled over constantly.
that looks like fun. btw you say it has stability issues at high speeds, is high speeds more than 50mph? The banshee is not the most stable on asphalt @ speeds over 50mph. It looks like a fun toy for around town if nothing else.
Here in B.C., All it would take is one cop to hit you with an inspection notice, and it would be street legal no more :(
Be careful on that because I'm sure you would not be covered by insurance even if you had a policy in place on the "bike" they have loop holes not to honor your policy due to the modifications. Looks F'n cool though,
I live in Enid, Ok.. how hard was it to make legal?? what all hurdles did you have to overcome?? What rules are there, wheelbase distance, height, ect?? thanks.
Thanx.I took my 1250 Bandit street bike and ,using Yamaha Banshee and Raptor quad parts, converted it myself. It was tagged and titled as A bike,I just changed the suspention.
Nice job man hands down! I've been thinking of taking a buell 1125cr motor because its liqid cooled and the motor puts down 146rhp. How did it pass inspection with four tires i always thought you could only have quads on the road in england. But now i see one state side and would like to know how you got around the loop hole. Please get back to me thanks!
Skuff radius is the distance between ball joint pivot and the contact patch of the tire. The greater the distance ,the greater the accentuation of steering input at high speeds.
You may not have a problem with the police, but if your in a wreck your insurance company will drop you like a spent hooker.
