@comedianTJ It's a shame you forgot the name of a guitarist in a band Haynes currently plays in: Duane Allman. If you haven't heard of him, I recommend it. For me, Allman's body of work by the time of his death at age 24 is nothing short of other worldly. You also forgot the guy who plays next to him currently in the Allman Brothers: Derek Trucks. Trucks and Haynes together on stage. If you haven't seen it brother, I'd highly recommend it!

If you want to see Warren do what he does best come to the Warren Haynes Xmas Jam in Asheville, NC on Dec. 11 and see him jam with the best. I have been to a few and trust me... he pulls out all the stops for that. Umphrey's will be there this year.
While warren does rock it in this video, if you want to see him at his best check out cortez the killer with him and dave in central park.... music does not get any better than that
Whilst I have great admiration for Warren Haynes, this version cannot be compared to Neil Young's version with Crazy Horse. There was a great video on Youtube some time ago, but I think it has now been removed. Neil was at his very very best in that video, so if anyone can find it, you will see what I mean.

Warren is one of the best musicians at constructing a solo, either with his guitar or with his voice. He keeps climbing and climbing then just erupts into high flying maxxed out high energy finish. Whew!
@0neAfterAnother It's been this way for years. The last DMB show I went to was in 2003 in Atlanta. A girl that looked like she was about 12 took her shirt off while standing right next to her mother. I love their music but it's hard to enjoy yourself fully when things like this are happening.

I went to a DMB concert with a friend who had an extra ticket in '98 or so...I was never a big Dave fan before then but he won me over in a big way with his rendition of this song at the closing of the show. Having Warren Haynes perform such a stellar guitar solo in this version is like having your cake, eating it too, and then getting pie as a bonus afterward :)

@AceLockCo Lady Gaga is a pretty bad example. If you've ever actually listened to her she's a pretty good musician. The instrumentation isn't most people's cup o' tea but the writing,harmonies, etc are pretty impressive. I would take DMB over her any day but that's just my style. Someone like Britney Spears as irrelevant as she is these days would be a better example.
I feel ya brother, I feel ya! A couple of years ago I was in Turscon seeing Hot Tuna playing in small theater that they couldn't sell out, but that very same night, Brittany Spears sold out an arena. These days Warren uses Soldano and Cesar Diaz amps with Mule, and I've seen Gibson Goldtone amps onstage when he has jammed with DMB recently, though I haven't paid enough attention to the visuals on this vid to tell.
I really like how Warren takes the mic at the end. I read somewhere that he always wanted to be a singer first before becoming a guitarist, and I think he just felt the vibe of the song to take the mic. From my experience Dave usually sings, I've never heard a guest take the mic.

If you want to see Warren do what he does best come to the Warren Haynes Xmas Jam in Asheville, NC on Dec. 11 and see him jam with the best. I have been to a few and trust me... he pulls out all the stops for that. Umphrey's will be there this year.

Whilst I have great admiration for Warren Haynes, this version cannot be compared to Neil Young's version with Crazy Horse. There was a great video on Youtube some time ago, but I think it has now been removed. Neil was at his very very best in that video, so if anyone can find it, you will see what I mean.

@0neAfterAnother It's been this way for years. The last DMB show I went to was in 2003 in Atlanta. A girl that looked like she was about 12 took her shirt off while standing right next to her mother. I love their music but it's hard to enjoy yourself fully when things like this are happening.

I went to a DMB concert with a friend who had an extra ticket in '98 or so...I was never a big Dave fan before then but he won me over in a big way with his rendition of this song at the closing of the show. Having Warren Haynes perform such a stellar guitar solo in this version is like having your cake, eating it too, and then getting pie as a bonus afterward :)

@AceLockCo Lady Gaga is a pretty bad example. If you've ever actually listened to her she's a pretty good musician. The instrumentation isn't most people's cup o' tea but the writing,harmonies, etc are pretty impressive. I would take DMB over her any day but that's just my style. Someone like Britney Spears as irrelevant as she is these days would be a better example.

That's a cryin shame, but what would really piss me off is if all there was to hear was Beittany and Lady Gaga.

These days Warren uses Soldano and Cesar Diaz amps with Mule, and I've seen Gibson Goldtone amps onstage when he has jammed with DMB recently, though I haven't paid enough attention to the visuals on this vid to tell.

I really like how Warren takes the mic at the end. I read somewhere that he always wanted to be a singer first before becoming a guitarist, and I think he just felt the vibe of the song to take the mic. From my experience Dave usually sings, I've never heard a guest take the mic.
