Frankly Hebrew is much older than Arabic. Arabic is the newest of all Semitic languages. It developed from Nabatean Aramaic as a local development of New-Aramean dialects. No offence! Arabic adapted and altered Nabateo-Aramean script. Thatr's why Arabic and Hebrew are related through the Aramean language.
