I don't necessarily agree with this game being garbage, per se. They spent an incredibly long time working on the characters, animation and the backgrounds, but not much else is included in this game. It seems like a situation where they tried to get it to completion as much as possible, but at some point, you have to release the game so you can begin to earn a little bit of the development costs back.
This is a decent reboot start, and hopefully the next one is the real version, y'know?
unused / removed characters in the games code: Vice, Hwa, Takuma, a boss, Dark/Orochi(?) Ash, Mai, King, Yuri, Classic Iori, and Billy were all planned and not included. There are 7 more empty spots with no character at all. Thats a total of 17 characters gone from the final version, 10 that had made it to planning and 7 that never even made it to the data. KoF XII was originally planned to be the end of the Ash saga.
the game has not sold well at all, it didn't even make it to 100,00 and that's worldwide for the ps3, even less for the 360. Snk has been making this game for years and needed to recover some money so they rushed it out and hoped for the best, bad move and now they will probably have to cancel some titles and try to recover by making another witch groping game. That is if they don't go bankrupt again. This could easily have been a PSN/LIVE arcade game release for a more reasonable price.

He cant use his powers because in the story line ash crimson has used the yamata mirror and stolen them. Dude u dont even know the story how can u knock something u know absolutely NOTHING about.
This game wasnt rushed apparently noone that played it knows the definition of a TEST GAME. This game was used to see what they could do with the new hardware on the next gen systems. This game was used to see how the fans would respond and apparently since this game has sold VERY well they will probably stick with this style. The next game will have all the stuff fans are used to characters and movesets. So knock a game just because they didnt go all out in the first venture. Its still good.
NOt in test phase its a test game. A test game is a game that is put out there to see if it will work . Sonic unleashed was a test game to see how the hedgehog engine would run. Now that SEGA sees it works. PROJECT NEEDLEMOUSE will use it. The Fact that both of these games got horrible reviews was expected by both companies to an extent because they new these games would be the first of their kind. The main reason these games contained so little is because if the engines worked sequels will come

I honestly don't understand why people try to defend broken A.I with such asinine comments as "fighting games are for 2 players" etc.
Why bother including a single-player component if the game is meant to be played by two players only? There is no excuse for broken, completely unchallenging A.I in a game that includes a single-player option.
you are the 1st to ever not move your character,just stand still and hit hard punch and kick randomly to defeat the CPU while on hardest difficulty. now either they removed SNK Syndrome
or your one bad ass player, next time try to do it
with out even using a controller. be all telekinesis
I woudn't say it's terrible. The music is ok, the gameplay is alright, and the graphics aren't bad.....that's it. :(

Well that sucks!
Even Tekken have better AI and I have more fun playing it offline.
This game was rushed, no boss, no ending and the characters don't even have losing pose.
