  • It's symbolic. For example one of the black guys died

    + open ended

    give Tony what he deserves

  • Tony's final facial expression didn't match the one he had when he saw Carmella and AJ walk in. He might of heard her enter but he saw someone far more threatening when he looked up.

  • @TheRealRobSchneider It was another season where he tells chris to make sure they dont have a problem. They had payed them to kill carmine or johnny sack, someone from ny, but then tony changed his mind.

  • You're wrong about the black guys. It was in season 1 and one of them was killed in that scene.

  • Two failed parking attempts means someone cant park. It doesnt mean impending assassination for the father of the driver

  • @orourkeda but why would that be shown. This is a show not real life, the there would be no significance in showing that if it didn't mean something.

  • @x73igg I have no idea. Nobody does thats my whole argument.

  • While Tony may be dead in the mind of the maker of ths video, he didnt die on screen. This should be evidence enough.

  • They could have done so much with the ending. The fact that they chose to do so little is disappointing. There is no evidence to support what may or may not hae happened. No guns nothing

  • So fucken stupid. He left it as a what happened for a reason....................so there will always be a chance of another season.

  • Honestly, ur a jackass.you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.you have so little idea of what you're talking about that its actually sad that you bothered to make this video.

  • I don't remember Tony EVER saying "it probably all goes to black". Season & Episode # please.

  • Hmm...I personally think Chase wanted to leave it up to us so everyone has their own theory, Chase included. My own is that Tony got shot by the man in the Members Only jacket. But the point is that nothing definite is pointed to. The trucker is not the guy from previous episode, the black guys are totally different and, most importantly, THE GUY AT THE BAR IS NOT CREDITED AS NIKKI LEOTARDO...he is credited as 'Man in Members Only Jacket'! Whatever, a great way to end one of the greatest shows.

  • this guy deserves a freaking award. @ministryofmoutz you just cleared up so much. good job!!!

  • GENIUS

  • holy shit good job, best theory ive heard

  • i realised when the rim hit the gutter... clipped

  • You say everyone one in that restaurant wanted him dead, maybe this summarises every series, that he has survived and overcome everything and at the end of the day he is still alive and healthy with his family. just some of my thoughts, the leotardo thing is intriguing though !

  • I think Tony die.btw,this Explanations is true..:D

  • while i agree that Tony in all probability got clipped at the end, some of your assumptions have been explained or are incorrect. Firstly, the 'boyscouts' in the train shop when Bobby gets clipped, if i remember correctly, were just two brothers with their father. There was no indication that they were boyscouts. Secondly, Meadow being unable to park is a reference to that particular car, where the adverts claimed it was the car that could park itself. I remember reading that somewhere online

  • chase got tierd and said "fuck it, here's a black screen, interpret it however."

  • I was hoping that Tony survive this but this is very convincing

  • Camilla arranged the hit! "just a small town girl - living in a lonely world". She chose to eat at Holston's and lied to Tony that the family agreed to eat there despite plans to cook at home that evening. Revenge for Adrianna/Chris - hence reference to cat/tiger on wall.

  • Tony dies, I think it's obvious but, chase should not have cut to black instead of cutting to POV, things rarely happen on predetermine exact timing and I think it would have been less ambiguous if Chase had cut to POV and seen the door open for 5 frames then bam, cut to black. Or did chase want to leave the door open for future episodes ? More than likely.

  • This proves that women can't drive lol

  • Also, think of this. There were 3 quarters put in the juke box. Three creamers on that guy's coffee. And three onion rings were eaten. Yes?

  • @SeethingGreen also, tony chose a song on the third page of the jukebox

  • ...very good, makes sence.

  • i think the ending was bullshit after watching the whole seasone i would think that they owed it to the audience to make a difinative ending weather tony dies or not .its a cop out to leave it open, it only benifits david chase not the fans that supported the whole 6 seasons, its a tv show not a subject for debate now i dont care if he died or not i just think that david chase wants a safty net to come back to if his future work fails!!! if it ended like that in a book i would have burned thebook

  • nice one!

  • hes not dead...show had just a kinda feel good ending...but lots of people just are to open to the idea so thay say its true

  • christopher's near death expereince in series three - he thinks he goes to hell and is told to warn Paulie And Tony about 3PM - tony is shot by Members only from the position of 3 O'clock.

  • DONT MESS WITH THE VIPERS

  • Wow, thank you for putting so much thought into this. I'm actually glad to see someone with evidence to back up their opinion, and I actually think you're probably right.

  • THIS IS A GOOD EXPLANATION OF WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED BUT WOULD THE LUPRETAZZI FAMILY ACTUALLY GO AFTER TONY AFTER BUTCHEY, WHO IS BELIEVED TO HAVE TAKEN OVER THE HELM OF THE FAMILY, MADE A DEAL TO GO AFTER PHIL IN ORDER TO STOP THE WAR. HE WOULD HAVE NO REASON AND NEITHER WOULD THE REST OF THE FAMILY AFTER THE TAKEOVER OCCURS. THERE IS NO DEFENITVE ANSWER BUT I NOW BELIEVE HE DIDN'T DIE.

  • @TurdFurggison : DOES IT HAVE TO BE A LUPRETAZZI? DIDN'T TONY PISS OFF ENOUGH PEOPLE IN THE 6 EPISODES THAT ANYBODY COULD BE THE CULPRIT?

COME TO THINK OF IT, WHAT ARE WE YELLING?

  • @squidb8 YOU'RE RIGHT SQUIDB8, LETS TALK IN OUR LOWER CAPS VOICE. Who else can possibly be left for Tony to fear. He's already in it with Butchy after the peace agreement. The closest thing to an enemy Tony had in season 6 part 2 would be Hesch who he owed money to.

  • omg ur right. holy shit. im so numb knowing he dies. fuck im sad. i guess fuck

  • "Made in America" could also mean that the "MoJ" guy was going to get made if he killed Tony. It's also ironic how the "MoJ" guy looks a little like Tony's dad Johnny.

  • And the worst thing is that the song fits into every interpretation as an impossible puzzle piece. "It goes on and an on.." could be treated literally or ironically in relation to any number of aspects: to the TV show itself and the audience, to the characters, to Tony's life specifically and all of the interpretations about it. A whole chapter of book would have to be dedicated to it. And me, I've just started watching for the first time the last season!

  • Tony Sopranos could simply be shot. He was not a good person. He put profit over people in a way that society didn't approve of, which I think is a point Meadow brought up with her boyfriend; that a corporation can be just as bad, or something along those lines. But that doesn't make Tony any less blood-guilty and criminal.

The various shots in the restaurant could be trying to give us "a day in the life" of Tony: his anxiety, annoyance, etc., but why do this if the blackout isn't his?

  • Christopher's downfall was that he didn't receive validation. He was more intelligent than the others and was eaten up in not receiving commiseration for his "condition," which is another parallel to Tony. Chris, no longer able to prop up his flowers and plastic life with what's rotten underneath, does a very stupid thing. Melfi dropped Tony, and his sociopathic inner tide may no longer have been levied; HE could have killed the man in the bathroom -ugly and stupid, a revelation for his family.

  • I think what was intended was carried out masterfully; that is: omnidirectional possibility for interpretation. The black screen could be loss of consciousness in Tony, because we are looking at his face, or in Meadow, because the last shot would be her point of view. The way Phil was killed was gruesome. He was with his family, and I remember schoolboys in the gas station vomiting. That could very easily be the basis for a parallel scene in the restaurant.

  • Horrible analysis! Two random black guys wanted Tony dead because in the 1st season Junior paid two other black guys to try to kill Tony? What?! They werent the "same guys". I stopped paying attention right there

  • I think the members only guy went into the bathroom to make a call to someone outside to come in and perform the hit thats why he looks up and it goes black right after the door opens and your hear the bell ring... throughout this scene he seems paranoid about who is coming through the door everytime someone enters.

  • bollocks

  • In the episode where Christopher almost died, he claimed to have heard a message in Hell for Tony and Paulie: "3 O'Clock".

The bathroom where the Members Only Jacket man enters is shown to be directly on Tony's right... his 3 O'Clock

  • All I know is that it was one hell of a Journey.....

  • There weren't boy scouts in the scene where Bobby got killed?

  • Heart's "Magic Man (live)" is right above "Don't Stop Believing". Magic man ? And that was never an actual release (live version).... plus the Capitol 44040 "stamp" on the same song "card" is not an actual Capitol Records release number.

    Maybe THAT means sumthin ? #44040 ???

  • I think its this simple:

In the episode "Members Only", Eugene Pontecorvo wears a members only jacket, walks into a restaurant where a fat guy is eating and shoots him.

In the finale, a guy wearing a members only jacket, walks into a restaurant wear a fat guy (Tony) is eating. Get the idea?

  • Chase thinks he's so smart. So smart that he didn't leave a hint to who took Tony's life.

  • How come everyone says that in the boat with Bobby Tony said that everything goes black???? That never happened!! Bobby said you probably dont hear it coming and Tony says why dont you ask you friend (the dear thats dead in his house). Never said any other comment about the subject. Even in the dvd when you play commentary the guy who played Silvio even said that Tony never said that and the guy next to him goes really? because thats what everyone thinks he said.

  • God, you should be a Professor of The Sopranos. I didn't watch it regularly as some of you but these people were part of Tony's Life at one time or another. However, weren't the Boy Scouts African American who found the dead body? I would have loved for Tony, AJ, and Carmela go back to the house. AJ and Carmela go into the House, Tony puts the Car in The Garage and there are some thugs waiting for him. They kill him by choking him to death, put a Gun to his Head and whack him off.

  • @laminage LOLLLLLLLLLLL masters of tv series majoring in sopranos HAHAHAHAH

  • @laminage put a gun to his head and whack him off

    LOL!

  • @MegaPISSTITS Well you know what I mean. I kept hearing Whacking him off so many times it sort of stayed in my Brain. He's so bitter, unhappy and lonely and he brings so much of what happened to him in the past, that's why he can't be a good man.

  • There's no need to think back for the black guys. They're black, they're obviously there to kill someone.

  • @OganBozoglu LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • @OganBozoglu....................... yup

  • @OganBozoglu ......jk

  • There's nothing significant about a woman not being able to parallel park.

  • I actually want to cry about all this ending ... :| But I'm not from the crying type ..

  • i think stands as the best TV series ever. Bold statement as there's so many but this was consistently brilliant and will stand the the of time for generations.

  • I like Dex and Lyle's explanation better.

  • Hey look at the bright side. At least he didn't go like Johnny Sack.

  • oh fuck im dumb :(

  • I'm stating to think Tony was killed in a group hit by everyone else in the place... they ALL had reason to want him dead and who knows, maby they were all in it together.. maby Meadow didn't even make it to the door and someone else, the hitman, came in instead of her... Cue tony looking slightly surprised.

The others were all there to see, or ensure, it happened....

  • I wonder if the Black guys were in anyway connected to Ralph...

He appears in Tony's cryptic dream(that showed Tony was going to join Ralph soon).

It seems like there is a connection to me, but I can't put my finger on it exactly.

  • The jukebox shows "Somewhere In The Night by Sawyer Brown" listed above the song "Those Were The Days by Mary Hopkins" (also foreshadowing the end). 5 seconds later the Sawyer Brown song is listed a second time only the second time it is after Tony has flipped the page and now the song listing is above a song by Heart. The audience was intended to see this song listing twice, why? The phrase "Somewhere In The Night" is also a lyric in the song playing by Journey. This is the third reference to

  • Great theory. I also believe it took long for Meadow to park her car, because Karma was keeping her from warning Tony about the guy in the "Members Only" jacket. If Meadow succeeded in parking her car early, she would have walked in and saw the man approaching Tony from behind. Instead she arrives just in time to see him get killed.

  • iop

  • @stereomaster279 Lol. That's cute I look at all the "Fellas" Tony, Paulie, Silvio, John Sacrimoni, Chrissy, etc. His pussy ass son would NEVER. Have what it takes to be in the mafia. He's too big of a whiney, girly pussy.

  • first of all, we dont see the show through tonys eyes. thats absolute crap. the viewer sees plenty of things tony isnt aware of (you really think tonys watching finn getting it on with meadow? etc), also, i know there are at least 2 episodes with silent credits. also, the black guys could have also been from whitecaps where tony gets chris to get those black guys to do a hit on carmine, then they call it off and have the black guys murdered. could be their fam as well...

  • @jordan848204

Not only that, but I'm certain they are connected to Ralph somehow. Were they part of his Crew? did they figure out Tony killed their boss?

  • Damn, that ending is a mindfuck.

  • You're talking out your arse. There is no such person as nikki leotardo or whatever the fuck you think that guy is called. He is "Man in Members Only Jacket"

  • MOUTZ!!!!!!!!! We need you to run in 2012. You are all knowing, all seeing, a Man for All Ages.

    Thank you.

  • I understand your theory, BUT... notice the editing when he first walks into the restaurant. It never shows him sitting down: just looking in to a possible future. His own paranoid personality wouldn't let him go in. This is all what he imagined might happen if he did sit down.

  • and please tell me what the hell do the boy scouts at the train store have to do with tony gettingwhacked what do they get a special badge for killing a mob boss cmon now

  • you idiot first of all the black guys who tried to kill tony looks nothing like the guys who walk in the diner, second one of those guys gets killed during the whack attemp but nice observation but maybe do a little more research

  • And who is to say his son didn't take out a gun and shoot the assailant coming from the bathroom? There's no way to tell.

  • @mookiegreat have to agree with you on this one. I think Tony did get shot, but if there was ever a movie i think AJ should be the boss, and take over. With his sister a lawyer and the consiglierie to his brother. Sal comes back, and Paulie dies. Just a brainstorm

  • if something travels faster than the speed of sound, its going to be anything but silent.

  • @MitchellColinPratt What? If the bullet travels faster than sound, the bullet arrives first at it's destination than the sound (of the gun being fired). When the gun is fired, the sound and the bullet leave at the same time but due to the traveling velocity of the bullet being higher than that of sound, the bullet arrives at Tony's head before sound and thus he doesn't hear anything.

  • He doesn't say "its like cutting to black"

  • The ending is like the case in pulp fiction. It's up to you to decide what it is.

  • Still the worst explanation video ever.

  • good points there...and pretty much what i thought too...i couldnt fit in the boyscouts so far and the trucker...thanks man!

  • It's like Inception's ending, or Lost's, they don't answer the questions that people wanna know, cause they do not want to end it flat and simple. It is up to the audience, to the true fans to imagine what each one wants, each one choose their own endindg.

  • My husband & I thought the cable went out when the screen went black & went apeshit for the few seconds before the credits started rolling. Then we just stood there (yes we jumped to our feet) with these WTF expressions on our faces. Most disappointing ending EVER. Fuck you David Chase you cocksucker.

  • @melfaery LOL I felt exactly the same. I wanted to punch my TV

  • you used the word 'rendition' incorrectly.

  • There was no assassination you're all worse than paulie with this fake shit!!!!! the part where it turnes to black was meant to be A JOKE to all the people that complain that every soprano episode cuts to black when it got close to the end of each episode because the episodes were too long for TV. this last episode was a rub it in your face thing. fuckin idiots.

  • A fucking great shout, i think you've nailed the ending with this.

  • I think it was intented to show wemen are bad drivers ;D

  • your are a fucking genius

  • sometimes a cigar is just a cigar

  • Comment removed

  • First off one of the black guys is dead.

  • im gona miss that fat fuck

  • this will haunt me forever

  • i've just watched the whole series in about a month(what a tw@ i am)and think thye ending was just right...no one wants to see tony get capped...or go to prison.

  • I subscribe to the "blackout was the audience" theory. The whole Bobby and Tony discussion in the boat, about how you never see it coming and it goes black? That's us. We never saw that sudden ending coming. We were waiting for something else to happen and it didn't. So we were whacked. It's over for us.

  • great job man. I would love for them to make a movie about his younger days. Different cast- maybe call it "rise to power"

  • I don't give a shit about Tony just tell me that annoying bitch Janice is dead

  • @bombastic191 Amen to that.

  • meadow just proves the point women cannot drive

  • Don't think you're theory is right. If that guy by the bar was an assassin he would have walked right in and "popped" Tony. The gun wouldn't have been stashed in the bathroom like in the Godfather because who knew they would be at that restaurant?

  • @MrDreadedbwoy Also, in pretty much every other hit, the assassins walk up to whoever it is, shoot them, drop the gun and leave. A lot of the time they had gloves on as well. And from a criminal perspective it would be utter stupidity to sit in a place with that many people long enough where if you were to commit a crime (murder in this case) you could be easily identified. The other thing is what antagonists are left to order the hit? Your theory just makes no sense.

  • @MrDreadedbwoy You have a point there... but... the original script gives more details away and is far less ambiguous than the final edited version, but I won't ruin it by telling the official version.

Personally, I love the way it is and I love how the editor teases with us until the last minute: showing us the two black guys, AJ walking in with the man with the jacket (and both AJ and the man are wearing the same brand of Jacket! lol)... it is like playing with our expectation.

  • Actually Tony's life was already in risk three times:

    1) Black guys shooting

    2) Uncle Junior shooting

    3) Car accident with Chris.

But maybe the last one doesn't count because it wasn't a murderous attempt.

  • @quelorepario But it was, Chris was trying to kill himself and Tony by crashing the car, that's why Tony killed him.

  • @nosweatjustmyopinion No, you olympically missed the point. You must rewatch the fifth and sixth season.

Chris was driving drugged, that's why he is so shaky and switching the radio stations like crazy. He gets distracted and drives off the opposite lane. He tries to avoid the coming car and by steering away abruptly in high speed he loses control and the car flipped.

Chris' last words are that he doesn't want to go to the hospital, because he'd lose the driver license because he's taken cocaine

  • @nosweatjustmyopinion (con't) What you say is simply an invention of your mind. It is totally unsupported.

Tony killed him because Chris showed his hidden hatred and disloyalty in the movie Cleaver... and his constant absences because of AA made him even further unreliable and raised even more suspicion.

Chris latest confession about taking drugs while driving was the straw that broke the camel's back (Chris could have killed his daughter) triggering the short temper of Tony.

  • @quelorepario Buddy, it's a TV show and I'm entitled to my own opinion, just like you're entitled to yours, but seriously....fuck off with your over interpretations, they are just annoying. Are you expecting to get an award or some sort of praise for knowing (or thinking you know) everything there is to know about the Sopranos? I'm sorry but all you get from me is pity. Get a life....seriously.

  • @nosweatjustmyopinion It just happens that I just finished watching the last season. It is very fresh in my mind. And it just happens that am cursed by the gift of being able to keep a longer attention span than you.

  • @quelorepario Your logic is that you have a longer attention span than me because you THINK you know everything about the Sopranos? You are what us normal people call CRAZY. Get a fucking clue, and maybe a life while you're at it.

  • @nosweatjustmyopinion haha, I never called you crazy and I never said I knew "everything".

Straw man arguments and overgeneralization. Good job at showing to me how your mind can only work through informal logical fallacies, which is a sign of a undisciplined mind, which in turn explains your illogical inferences about the story.

  • @quelorepario Let me guess, you have no friends? No life? Still a virgin? Still suck your mothers tit? Fuck off you silly twat, trying to sound educated whilst talking about a fucking TV show about the Mafia makes you look like a fucking fool. Have a nice life you silly cunt.

  • @nosweatjustmyopinion and this post makes you look educated? Stupid name calling like a child and lame little 5th grade type insults....im impressed.Seems like you are the one that should do a little growing up.Dont bother sending me any little notes or insults,i wont be reading anything else written by you.I feel my IQ dropping enough as it is from this.

  • @inked37 Sorry, who the fuck are you, and what the fuck does this have to do with you?

  • Guys, guys, guys... it is so simple, the man with the jacket killed the cameraman.

  • @quelorepario OMG that is the BEST explanation anyone ever came up with! Literally LMAO...

  • Journey explains the ending. It goes on and on and on.

Even if toney was wacked it woud still go on unless you killed evreyone in the series.

My Point is The director just cut it off to fuck with you and after the screann went blank the story just went on.

  • another thing! sorry to be a bother, but when meadow is running inside to the restaurant, theres a car driving behind her. isnt that tonys car? maybe im thinking too much lol

  • i just relized something. before tony is sitting down waiting for his family, you see tony standing in the door way of that restaurant looking at himself sitting down at the table by himself waiting for his family to get there. i believe he was wearing a jacket and the tony sitting down is wearing something completly different. is it possible that hes dreaming this or thinking of this moment? watch the ending again. at first no one is sitting there at the table. at 2nd glance, hes there!

  • Hopefuly the Bullet missed and hit his annoying dead beat son

  • @martenbick1 Lol i know i hate that lil prick.

  • Its funny I haven't seen an episode of this show, yet I'm fascinated about how it ends.

  • I remember watching the end of the UK version of The Office and a character said something to the effect of "when the camera stops rolling here, life will go on as it always has". I think that is the same principle here. This is a glimpse of what Tony's life will always be like. He is now vulnerable and knows that the next person he comes across could kill him. I also genuinely believe that it was left open in case further developments such as a film were ever wanted.

  • the story is based on tonys life once his life is over so is the story, you just dont see tony getting shot you just see meadow walking in the door which was the last thing tony seen.

  • Hated it when i watched it like it better as time goes by but i gotta admit i was waiting for tony to get blasted

  • the black guys shot tony in the ear in season 1 and one of them is dead cause his mate shot him trying to shoot tony by accident !!

  • what's the building pictured on the back wall as Tony enters? Also who are the players depicted on either side?

  • What you've said about Tony being dead is pretty obvious, so I dont think there was a need to make this elaborate video about it.

You made a serious amount of mistakes here though. The black guys try to kill Tony in season 1, not 2 or 3. Also one of them died so it couldn't have been them.

Also Tonys daughter is called Maedo not Meadow.

And we never saw the brother of the Comly Truck driver in season 1 so thats just rubbish.

  • @headlikeahole456 "Also Tonys daughter is called Maedo not Meadow" (!?)

    ROFLCOPTER!

God bless dumbs, life would be so boring without you guys.

  • I think Tony, carm, and aj get killed by the guy sitting at the bar. Screen goes black when Tony gets killed. I think meadow survives and becomes the first female boss. Remember when Tony goes to Italy and finds out that the boss is a women. He had said that would never happen in the states a female boss, ha. That's what I think anyways.

  • although fisable, i disagree

  • That's what I came to too.....that he gets whacked at the end or that you make your one ending.something like that

  • My theory??? It ended with a blank screen,so millions of us will be still talking about the ending, years later.

  • I loved the show, that I've just finished watching (like the 6 seasons in 2 weeks...), but damn I'd be glad that motherf...ing Tony Soprano would be killed.

This guy, and the whole bunch of crooks, is nothing but cancer of the society.

  • i honestly don't think tony dies. i think that something happens (not death) with meadow as she walks in that why he had that look on his face.

  • Here Is My Theory: *Screen Cuts To Black*

  • HERES MY THEORY!!!!!! THE CREATOR DIDNT WANT TO FUCK UP THIS SHOW PERMANENTLY WITH AN IRREVERSIBLE ENDING

  • complete misuse of the word theory, this is exactly why people get the "Theory of Evolution" as "just a theory" your using the meaning of Idea or Hypothesis, this is my hypothesis, even if its not correct, this is my idea, even if its not correct. theory isn't the correct word to use there. sorry but i have to start pointing that out and hopefully the public will stop using theory as a equal word with idea

  • lot of people think Tony was killed on the basis of his conversation with Bobby about getting whacked, in Sopranos Home Movies, when Bobby says 'you probably don't even hear it when it happens' . My view, though, is this is actually relevant to Bobby's death in the toy shop in The Blue Comet because he DOES hear it when it happens. He sees Leotardo's men point the gun at him and is shot several times before he dies. Just my own theory.

  • @hugodrax71

You're absolutely right. It amazes me that the people who think Tony died, these people who are so insistent upon "clues" and "foreshadowing," can't grasp THIS bit of foreshadowing. It's called IRONY.

  • Found some new information,Take a look at the songs that come before he chooses don't stop believing. Very interesting

  • Pretty good theory. I thought the ending was brilliant.

  • David Chase himself has given a lot of credit to the idea of Tony being killed. See the liner note #42 in the Wikipedia article about the episode (It's called Made in America).

The talk with Baccala is a dead giveaway either way.

To the people who didn't like the ending, I don't know what they were expecting. It was subtle, clever, and a definitive conversation starter.

I think it was pure genius, like the series itself.

  • I was with you until you came up with the 'three theory'. It's like trying to take symbolism out of Beatles lyrics, it doesn't usually work. I doubt the two failed parking attempts and third successful try was Chase's way of saying that another hit on Tony would be the one that kills him. What if Tony was never alive?

You didn't explain why Meadow was running hastily either. If she's upset and distraught, perhaps that's why she couldn't park the car. I think she found out she was pregnant.

  • @jefferygwatkins The "three theory" was pure semiotics, and perfectly plausible in my opinion. I had already figured out the link to his conversation with Bobby Baccala, but out of everything previously unknown to me in this video, Meadow's parking was the one which struck me the most.

  • @ricklongo I understand the idea behind the symbols, I just don't think it was Chase's intention. One must remember that this episode aired and it ended the series. Thus, as far as their lives go, the audience doesn't know what reality exists for those characters. It's supposed to be taken it for what it's worth. That's why I purported a counter theory to 'three theory'. It doesn't explain Meadow's parking and why she couldn't parallel park (she lives in NYC, I'm sure she's had some practice).

  • I was in the Toni did not die camp until I read an article from "Masterofsopranos- the Sopranos definitive explanation of ending" that was posted in Simmons Super Bowl mailbag (, now I have absolutely no doubt Toni died in this scene. There were way too many clues given in previous episodes and the manner in which the POV is used in the scene really leaves no doubt- read the entire article below if you are a true fan

  • Only one of the black guys that tried to kill Tony actually died. And your explaination of the guy with the boyscouts doesnt make sense. Tony clearly got shot by the guy in the bathroom tho. That's obvious. It was just alot of suspense, not so much a metaphor.

  • You people are fucking crazy! I'ts a TV show, the only reason why you don't know what happened at the end is that James Gandolfini is an asshole (he thinks he really is a mob boss) and wanted more money, so the writers left an open ending (a good one too, leave idiots guessing) so if by any chance Gandolfini wants to do the show again, they can. It really is that simple, anyone who says otherwise is looking far too much into it.

  • @nosweatjustmyopinion I think you are full of groundless conspiracy theories and don't have a clue about the artistic integrity of the creator. If Chase was really a commercial whore he would have created a typical cliched cliffhanger.

Cutting to black is a very very very bold move, and the director actually wanted to also eliminate the credits at the end, but this wasn't authorized by the Screen Actors Guild.

This cutting to black has a very specific symbolism.

  • His would be assassin in the face with a 50cal dez eagle that he had strapped 2 the bottom of the table like the shotgun underneath the bed on training day.

  • Since evrybody is putting n ther 2cents I feel like it is my rightful duty as an American 2 do the same.Traditional POV perspective then A.J. got killed. The 3 o'clock thing Tony got whacked.Plus with all the symbolism,3 onion rings, 3 parking attempts, possibly 3 attempted hits,3 bells,3 coffee creamers on the dudes plate.3 boy scoutsGoddang theres just 2 much.IMHO I believe Tony 2 b the 2nd coming and caught the bullet from 3oclock n his chops wit razor like reflexes. While simultaneously shootin

  • @thefonzsayssitonit wat if there was already a hit on tony before phil got killed

  • Tony was not killed in the last episode. But yes.. he was killed.. but not in the last episode. And the person that killed him was family

  • Well, you are all wrong... watch the first episode of season 6 part 1. listen to every word from begining to end. Look closely at the last scene. Read the name of that episode. If you read, listen and watch carefully, it is fully explained in that episode. Samuelnaji@aol.com

  • black guys?

    oh you mean 'the niggers'

  • david chase explained this ending the guy that comes in behind AJ is the the person that shot tony if meadow had come in earlier she would have sat nxt to tony blocking the killers clear shot at him as he exited the bathrooms on the right , tony is suppose to have been shot behind the right ear as meadow walks in tony looks up it goes black and silent to stress the point that he is dead

  • Meadows parking has no significance but does prove that women cant drive
