  • The males have a crest called a roach, but yes....they are brown anoles.Just Google images and you will see.

  • those aren't brown anoles they're crested anoles

  • @ItsEmilyyx33 They sure are, just Google images. We don't have crested anoles where I live in Orlando.

  • I found a green anole in my yard that has two tails, and then i found one a couple of weeks later with three tails is that rare.. They bred yesterday im not sure how the babies will turn out..

  • @lilypop369 I've only seen that once myself,it had 4 tails...how odd.I know as a defense mechanism they can cause a portion of their own tails to fall off. They do grow back and in that process is probably where that occurred I'm guessing.

  • I am planning on getting anoles soon could you please give me some tips of what the requirements are for them to breed and for the little ones to survive?

  • @yrtsg I tried to put a link in this comment but had problems doing so.Just Google the information,I don't raise anoles in a captive environment, mine are all wild. There are so many here that it wouldn't make sense.....good luck.

  • i have two green anoles witch mate quite often, and i saw an egg laying on a vine in my tank today, i dont have a seperate light so i just dug a lil hole in one of the potted plants and carefully placed it in there without turning it upside down and placed a little bit of dirt over it so its hidden, 10 gal tank with 75 watt light, any chances this egg might succesfully hatch? the soil is also pretty moist, nvr done this befor so help would be appretiated.

  • @COF666420 Sure it has a chance, and as long as it has places to hide it might not get eaten by the parents.

  • @lizardladyfla Thanks, really hope it hatches, takes up to 45 days tho right?

  • @COF666420 Yes,let me know how it does and good luck.

  • Can you send me one

  • @MrAfghan02 I don't or wouldn't ship them at all.I just appreciate them in their natural environment, they aren't captive .I have seen companies online that will ship them though, just Google it.

  • "Are you my mother?" lol Good video. I couldn't resist the children's book reference.

  • @madmiles Thank you : )

  • how does anole eggs hatch , do they hatch on their own or do you need to put them in a incubator?

  • @diablogtrwill They hatch on their own,the females lay them under piles of leaves or under logs, etc. They need to stay in a somewhat warm environment out of direct sunlight. This also provides moisture to a degree so that the eggs don't dry up.

  • Ohh!! That's Lovely, Lizard Lady!! Isn't it amazing how Perfect and capable they are almost as soon as they've hatched. Beautiful little creatures. Thank you.

  • @lemniscate47 Thank you for watching, each one is a miracle to me.

  • How exactly do I seperate it if the parents are still in the tank

  • @Vineyarder17 You need another tank until the babies are big enough. If a baby is a male you shouldn't put it back in the adult tank, they will fight.

  • @Vineyarder17 You just reach in and take it out, once an anole lays an egg their job is done. They don't take care of their young.

  • I had an anole egg hatch in the cage but the father ate it

  • @Vineyarder17 I'm so sorry, too bad you didn't separate the egg from the adult tank.

  • Are you referring to the roach,or raised crest on a male ?

  • Do you know how tell crested anoles apart?pls answer

  • @reptiledudeful Good luck with it,let me know if it hatches.I've had about 10 so far hatch in my hand this season, more than usual.

  • @fgfjgujy The males have what looks like a mohawk, but it's called a roach. Both male and females have a throat pouch called a dewlap. The females tend to have a diamond like pattern or lighter line down their back, but not always. The females are smoother than the males and they're smaller in size, but sometimes it's hard to tell until they mature some.

  • how long do it take the eggs to hatch and do i need an incubator ?

  • What do those little baby anoles eat?

  • @lizzardboy123 In the wild I see them eat ants and anything else that moves.I have seen the ones about an inch long run off with a 3/4 inch mealworm that I hand feed the adults...it's hilarious...lol

  • having trouble finding a male brown anole

  • @ohsolamejames Do you live in a state where they are,or are you looking to purchase 1 ?

  • @lizardladyfla loojn to purchase one i live is massachusetts kinda cold here lol

  • @ohsolamejames Just GOOGLE purchase Brown anoles,I did and found several companies that will overnight ship them to you.

  • @lizardladyfla I JUST GOT PAIR OF GREEN ANOLES NOW JUST LOOKN FOR MALE BROWN

  • @ohsolamejames just saying males are easy females are hard to find i spring

  • i want to breed anoles

  • @ohsolamejames Go for it,let me know how it works out.

  • They started mating here in Miami couple weeks ago but sadly the devils brigade aka Cuban treefrogs are arriving in my yard due to our pond and they take a toll on the anoles.

Though way to early for the Cuban tree's to mate.

I have to admit I erradicate as many as possible.

Do you have trouble with Cuban treefrogs by you?

  • OH GOLLY!! UR MALE IS STUNNING i have to female Cuban ones Im about to get a green male haha :]

  • @Lordsangels03 Thank you, he's not really mine....they're all wild.I recently got a female Uromastyx, she's pretty cool.

  • @lizardladyfla haha yea i figured :] is she an anole too??

  • @Lordsangels03 Google an image of a uromastyx,it's a totally different type of lizard.

  • @lizardladyfla ahh they iz some kewl lizards hahaha :]

  • how long did it take for the eggs to hatch?

  • @beardiekeeper99 It takes anywhere between 60-90 days.I find them at different stages of development so I don't have to wait that long.

  • how many eggs do they lay @lizardladyfla

  • @beardiekeeper99 They can lay about one egg every 10 days, and take approx. 40 days to hatch.I can tell by the weight of the egg, movement, and the density when they're getting close to hatching. The egg shells sometimes start to thin out and you can see the lizard inside pretty good with a magnifying glass.

  • There's a Pet Smart near me that used to sell them. But they stopped, you can find them in the bushes outside the store........lol

  • you are luky to have thise arraund youre home i live in the city and the closest i get to see these little guys is a petsmart .

  • THERE NOT CALLED BROWN ANOLES! THEY CAN BLENDS IN STUFF! THATS WHY THEY CAN CHANGE COLORS!

  • @Denboy2001 Whatever.......

  • @Denboy2001 sounds like ur talking about chameleons. also, if its not brown anole then wuts it called?

  • @omfgodied green anole( Anolis carolinensis) the cuban or bahaman anole are a little bigger and much more agressive(the cuban one is the always brown one) green anoles can change from green to brown depending on stress, health, surrondings just like a chameleon.

  • @DezDevo The green anoles are slower and easier to catch. And the browns outnumber them here,so I've noticed they are more timid because the browns don't like them.

  • Wow, thank you for sharing this video. I live in Broward County Florida, and I have millions of these scaly little critters runnin' around my backyard.

After all these years, I never knew they were called Brown Anoles. I thought they were just ordinary garden lizards, my cat loves to hunt them and bring them inside the house.

Very interesting video, thanks for sharing!!

  • @darthpervertous Thank you for watching,I appreciate your comments.

  • we shoot those

  • @ReptileBrothers101 What's your point other than being mean spirited ?

  • I am in Miami this year as amazing as it might be we have had tons of green anole babies in the yard which is great because the brown anoles are much more agressive and drive the adults green away.

How is the green anole situation by you?

Its interesting that you found eggs because with all the anoles and geckoes in my yard and area I have never actually found eggs .

  • @BrownDarter The browns outnumber the greens 10 to 1,so I take special pleasure when a green anole hatches in my hand. The best place to find their eggs is a forgotten pile of leaves in a shaded area.I find them in potted plants too.If you're seeing hatchlings, keep looking.Their breeding season is almost over.

  • @lizardladyfla I know browns are doing so well and the greens not nearly what they should be. I like the browns also but love the greens. Funny thing is here in Miami we hit cold night last winter of about 38 degrees which is unheard of ESP for 4 consecutive days. Days went to only high 50s for about a week. I found dead green anoles dead on the branches while the brown anoles hit the ground under pots, leaves, etc and all lived.

However lots green babies this yr. Thanks

  • @BrownDarter It was really cold in Orlando too this past winter.I found many dead anoles,it was sad.But there are so many little ones this year, they watch out of curiosity when I feed the adults. Then when they grow a little, they get brave enough to jump on my hand too.

  • @lizardladyfla Okay thanks. I planted a lot of the big papyrus plants in yard in big pots because those things need a lot of water and the green anoles seem to simply love those plants.

  • how do you tell the difference iv cuaght so many. Alot of them look like the females in the vidoe rarely have i caught the ones with no patterns. Some of them have been able to change their skin color from dark brown to green

  • @pureefficient The females usually have a diamond like pattern or a lighter line down their back, but not always.Females have a softer or more feminine look, where the males look more like little dinosaurs, lol. The males have a roach,or crest on their head that they display in agression or battles. Both sexes have a dewlap (throat pouch),the males display theirs on a regular basis.I hope that helped a bit, thanks for watching.

  • You should make a video of them.

  • They look soo cute those anoles.

  • @Nin10doWaluigi They really are, thank you for watching.

  • @lizardladyfla you`re very welcome

  • I have two males that I had caught in the wild. They don't fight all that much like they use to, so I want to catch a female. I just don't know how. They are soooo fast.

  • @MyImmortalStudio Compared to the brown anoles, the greens are slow.If you introduce a female, they will fight. That's just their nature. If see 2 males in the area.I'll catch a female and get her used to the territory. It's hard to catch them in the wild, good luck with that.

  • Is a bad thing to tough the eggs?

  • @bloodiedsand777 I don't understand what you mean,can you ask a different way ?

  • kool that is so cuye :0

  • @jade70380 Thank you for watching.

  • Does mom lizard check on their welfare, or just gobble 'em up for a quick snack if she finds them??? Very enjoyable vid!

  • After the eggs are laid, moms job is done. The adult Anoles will eat the babies when they can catch them, that's nature.
