Just better songwriters basically? That is an understatement to say the least. That is the most important element of any band or musical artist. The ability to write songs. There are a million people in the world who can sing and a million who can play guitar. But it's the songwriters who can come up with that great melody, lyric or guitar riff that are really hard to come by. The Kelly Clarksons of the world are ubiquitous. But the John Lennons and Keith Richards are impossible to find.

I hear The Zombies' influence all over Opeth's Burden, one of my favourite songs by this otherwise unique progressive metal band. The songwriter said himself that he recently discovered The Zombies around that time. One would think such styles are incompatible, but the result is a perfect and organic amalgamation.

Saw The Zombies in So. Cal. 2004-2005-2006....Arthur Lee & Love opened up the 2nd time I saw them. We 60's flower children r so lucky to be around such innocent creativity. Another trick, if you have an apple computer, then you probably have garageband. Get rid of the piano track, add a new track, real instrument , get garage band on the screen and the safari with the u-tube page on the other half in such a way that you can access the play button on the utube page and the record button on garageband. Get a wire with two female heads that fit into a headphone slot. One goes in your headphone jack , the other into the input. Got enough info?
