If you love fighting games hardcore, you call DOA4 the best.

European Version - complete their excercise, do 20 wins in survival or get the silver XBOX in Survival.

what are you talking about? are you talking about using the tag combo on A,I?! Because you can, if you played DOA for a long time, you should know you can't use a throw move on A,I three times in a rule.

Actually I increased the damage level, that is why when I performed tag combos, it zaps a lot of health.

The Shinobi have finally put their fists down. Causing Hayate's amnesia (but giving him the ability to move back - giving him a purpose in life), making Ayane's Foster Father into a Monster and they still try (and succeed) to make a perfect fighter via Kasumi DNA.

Also, I personally like DoA 3 cause it focuses on Ayane.

DOA 4 wasn't all that bad but it did feel cheap and too wacky for most peoples taste. Out of ,what, 14/16 characters only like 4 0r 5 were really good. Others felt under-minded, rushed too complete and weren't very good. Also the ninja were practically invincible because you could use them cheaply.

I always hear how 4 was a disappointment from 3 .. elaborate maybe a bit? Cause the skin might've looked more realistic in 3 and the colors were nice, but a bit too low on contrast for my taste.

It's the gameplay!

In previous DOA games, you can't play the game any how!

But in DOA4 you have two choices: you either learn to defend by using Counter attacks 60% of the match or go on offence by drawing a long combo hits.

DOA4 was aimed at the hardcore players.

Originally, you have to block 30% through out the match which is ridiculous! The rest is up to you. The countering is harder than previous DOAs.

Not only is the counterin hard, but some worth it moves are harder to execute! The only way to win a match is to learn how to make a long string of combo. DOA4's fighting is based on juggling. You perform a High attack to get them off their feet, and you start pulling off combos till your oppnent lands on the ground!

This is the same thing the A.I uses! Not only that, the game easiest difficulty is Normal, and the A.I fights as if you are playing in Hard mode. Not to mention the final boss!

Aside from the flawed Gameplay. What annoyed me was the content!

We are in Next gen, and DOA4 hadn't changed! Using the same menu design, gameplay modes, same stuff! Not to mention the RUBBISH ONLINE!

You host a room, you get beat up and the winner takes control of your room. I mean WHAT DA HELL IS THAT!???

Nah sorry..DOA4 was a piece of trash!

If they make another trash like this in DOA5, I'll forget the series!

I can see how all that can be annoying to someone who has played the series games for several years. I only played DoA 1 on PSX a bit, DC/PS2 DoA 2 - I thought they were okay. I never got to the "f*ckass hard bosses". Although I think that Omega looks harder than Alpha-152.

But soon I'll get a used XBOX, XBV and DoA 3 and I'll gallow in this .. horray for Ayane-Ein/Hayate!

Well DoA 4 was created for hardcore players (and whoever came up with the idea of having the middle punch and kick different combos should be shot in the knee) and were made especially hard.

I think the worst part about DoA 3 is the camer angle with Omega ..

From a virtua fighter's standpoint countering was easy to learn. And juggling isn't gonna do you a thing if you haven't mastered the triangle.

The difference in AI from normal to very hard isn't there juggling. On Very easy Ryu will always land his three part izuna otoshi even though most humans can't. They just fight slower and you can be more repetetive without being punished.

But yeah, Genra was the worst boss i've ever killed.

I own DOAU and I just recently bought 3 for Hitomi and wow i was let down. It was dumbed down for retards. Simply pressing A was now a tag throw? And mid attacks still being clustered into 1 counter?  Not to mention Omega sucked, but the AI in general was pathetic. Very Hard was nothing when you can mostly use mid counters and catch anything. I hope DOA4 is more hardcore when i get it.

it's hard to explain, you can get those hidden costumes from playing Survival and obtaining the X logo. Some you can unlock by getting Gold in Time Attack and beating it in certain time.

because you need to throw with Hayate first, then Brad Wong will tag in.

get it then, get it from Amazon or your local game store. Its much better than DOA4. but it may get boring right away in the NTSC version, replayability will last longer in the PAL version, if you are trying to unlock the hidden costumes.

yes if you get all costume. But you don't wanna keep replaying the storymode over and over in different difficulty mode. Its best to just unlock all the item collections+rare items. Once you collect all 50, it automatically unlocks all costumes and booster pack!

a cd program that allows you to cheat the game. You can hack the cheats itself. Like a normal game, you search for it cheats like how to unlock a hidden character by using a combination of buttons. But with AR...you can just tick a box that auto unlocks the hidden character. You can change the whole of the game with AR. However AR for the Xbox SUCKS! Because all you can do is transfer save files

? the AR for the xbox sucks...all you do is transfer saves and get saves. You can get saves online. The saves are just game profiles that have being completed. The AR isn't like the GC & PS2 version where you toggle codes on/off. I dunno someone should have all costume save for DOA3. BUt I urge you not to buy AR for xbox not unless you wanna softmod your xbox

For an example Action Replay for DOA 3. I can allow myself to play as Genra...or Swap Kasumi moves with Ayane. Swap Hayate's costume to Haybusa's costume. Allow all characters to become a midget but have big heads. These are all examples of what an Action Replay can do. Search Youtube for your fav game on AR...and you will see COOL stuff! (but not xbox games)

for an example "God of War Action Replay, Metroid Prime Action Replay. Sonic Adventure Action Replay etc

During my experiences of Survival Mode in DOA3, I found a new Bayman-->Hayabusa move.... The throw in which bayman jumps to the ground, grabs the opponent with his legs, and Hayabusa comes out of nowhere, and jumps on the opponent's face.... I think the button is bottom right or left on the D-pad and throw.... But be sure not to do some other throw.
