It depends on what you want to use it for. For this kind of stuff and all around fun the Stampede is a great car. I suggest coughing up the cash and getting the VXL / 2.4ghz edition. They really aren't all that pricey if you know where to shop.

Just got my Turbo Optima Mid SE from my parents attic. Love it! Not sure about shelling out for the whole LiPo and Brushless thing, at the moment I'm happy with the stock motor and MSC on a NiMH. Looks like a lot of fun though, might check out my local skate park.
