  • I always didn't understand the difference between points and vectors and everything was always so vague. Everything is very clear now thanks to you.

  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!......(Thank you!)n

  • First let me say I think your achievement as regards these educational videos is nothing short of remarkable, and I for one am very grateful for all the effort you have put into them. There is one small error in this video at about 4:30-5:30 at which point you indicate that a vector can be defined as originating from any point (x1,x2). You write (x1-1,x1+2) when I think you meant (x1-1, x2+2).

  • dude...khanacademy is the best.....wish my high school teachers were this good !!!!

  • Just wanted to say that you made a mistake when drawing the vector (-6, -5). You inverted the horizontal and the vertical coordinates, which makes it not colinear.

    At 21:15

  • I've been looking through your videos and I haven't seen a video devoted to Vector Spaces, do you cover them within a spread of videos? Btw I think what your doing is fascinating and I can't wait for the moment when these videos are used as a teaching aid, you really are a gifted teacher.

  • You make me like math man! I love you.

  • I have to say, it was a really good idea of you to use the copied graphs, much neater than the drawn ones.

  • So useful!! Thank you so much for doing this!

  • you could define 2v as v+v, because that is what it is

  • I love you, no really I love you!

  • I think I clicked the wrong video, I have no FUCKING idea what this guy is talking about.

When would you use this kind of stuff in real life?

  • @TheNachoKat WHen making video games that use 2d or 3d graphics. best believe ANgry birds is all about the vector math, SON!

  • @theorator1984

Huh, okay :D Well at least now I can have some idea of it, It doesn't feel good to be ignorant of something. :S

  • @TheNachoKat i know its 7 months late but i just cant help it... hes talking about how you able to scale, flip, rotate your picture in your cellphone and another would be how you be able to play video games in xbox, pc, PS3, and wei , and how you able to watch CG Films among others because its list application in REAL LIFE goes on and on

  • Dude you should teach!

2.grade on college Math on A and THIS vid explained it better :o!

  • I like say 2-tuple.

try saying that three times fast.

  • omg ive been in mexico for one year and i forgot everything wow i dont even understand you anymore this is bad :( guys mexico is not good for you LOL

  • Love it.

  • Khan Academy videos are tremendously helpful.

My only wish is that all videos should be properly numbered.

  • he is a math god

  • ill be your 100th commentor saying that this stuff rox. im a big fan of explaining things the way they usually should be and thats in english! thanks

  • This guy is awsome .. But he goes too slow :) .. I Luv him thou

  • Is the such thing as a thicker pen in your program? I'm sure that would speed it up.

  • thanks...

  • the R4 vectors aren't vectors. they are polyhedrons, right?

  • Wow, thanks man! You rock. I love how all this stuff relates back to engineering somehow

  • omg you taught me the whole lesson in 25 minutess thankkk you sooo muchh

  • i love you khan but TWENTY FIVE???? CMON

    thanks THOUGH!

  • what program do you use to create these videos? (The "blackboard")

  • Thank you very much sir

    God bless

  • 25 minutes..Oh yeah!. haha

    I love you Salman.!

  • very very intelligent and active person , but please i ask persons who watch this take care at moment 21 from the tap. alittle mistake when representing vector [-6,-5]

  • thanks khan, you make the world a better place!

you are providing real education... unlike my linear algebra professor, who speaks to my class in gibberish.

  • Whoa, what happened. Last time i checked I thought I was watching vids from 2008. Now this vid is dated less than 5 months old, and you've not nice cartesian planes pasted for us. nice.

  • Thanks for this. One mistake there though at 21:11. The y - x part, you actually drew the wrong vector (blue one). You went down 6 and 5 left, instead of 6 left, down 5. That's why it wasn't completely parallel to x - y. But I think most people here got the message anyway, so it doesn't matter :)

  • I heard you on NPR yesterday and I thought I would check your site out. This looks great.

  • You're the man! wow

  • you rock

  • oh my god this explains things so much better than my profs notes

  • @TheEarlOfDublin No Kidding!!!

  • certain account types can upload longer videos

  • i think they pay for it

  • Multi-dimensional spaces...exciting!

  • At 04:35, you write (x1-1,x1+2) but I think you really mean (x1-1,x2+2).

    Thanks for these videos!

  • Keep up the Linear Algebra! Do some vector space/subspace videos! egienvalues, det,A^-1, Volumes, etc.... I think your work is great...!

  • hey can you do a video about finding acceleration and velocity vectors of a simple pendulum?
