  • The fat man still rockin'

What a beautiful soul, always makes me smile to hear him play and sing.

  • thank you rainbow....

  • was thier

  • This is a good example of what made Jerry so great. He could take even a 2 chord song like this and with his deep knowledge of intervals and scales and the fret board he could endlessly create interesting melodies. He was a master at it.

  • @travelbydragonfly you are not kidding

Love that guy and all he did

  • ive always enjoyed music since a young age cant play cant sing but feel it deep in my soul i remember when i was 14/15 gettin a cb tape it opened a whole new world later on when i was 17 i jumped on board and almost 20 yrs later here we r watchin ourselves havin fun love it...

  • good performance of a song of the great Chuck Berry by the great Jerry Garcia

  • good performance of a song of the great Chuck Berry by the great jerry garcia

  • Great find!

  • melvin, what a keyboardist

  • This Video totally made my day!

  • never met a Jerry tune i didn't like

  • it was a teenage wedding and the old folks wished them well.what a drag it is that jerry did not do this earlier in his band.but towards the end the only true and true energy only came thru JGB.He was just so tired of playing with the grateful dead and it was painfully evident.Don't get me wrong i saw shoes till the end but it just made me more thankful that i started catching shows in the 70's.

  • I was at this show as well, 10th grade & as usual.... drums up front

  • Hey man-- u don't like it go ur way and don't look back. Ain't nobody said you have to pass me by on the street and say hello.

  • Just saw my shrink and ids beautiful Gar.

  • Eat,Drink, and Miss Jerry

    Merry Christmas

  • Check that first guitar solo with the little

signature licks..... This is classic Jerry.

He is setting the audience up for the second, third and fourth, solos, where he rips into

it. F-- Jerry doing Chuck. Come on.

  • everyone has an opinion but this is grateful sir no class u dork

  • jerry rips

  • Hey now! Sorry about that... was a bit rude to that person but couldn't help it! Stellar post my friend! Totally love it and love Jer doing that tune. Take care now :-)

    Cassy

  • I was at this show

  • @linuspop Holy S*&t I just realized I was at this show too... my one weeknight out a semester, while I going to Worcester Academy. The Shinning Star this night made me cry like a baby oh Jerry

  • @Jstammfly It always takes me by surprise when I'm looking at JGB and Dead videos on YouTube and realize that I was at the show. Great memories, phenominal music. My brothers took me to my first show when I was 11 and the rest is history...

  • Hey dude, wire you here if you don't like it.... just pass your way and go watch something you enjoy instead of being a jerk to someone WE happen to respect.

    Fare thee well A******

  • chuck berrys version sucks compared to jerrys.. the best by far is bob seager

  • Wonderland was wonderfull....Jerry lives everyday ..in my house....Peace

  • God, I love this stuff! JGB Forever. Peace!

  • @bermudadog JImbo Crap is that you. Long live Jerry! I love you Jerry I hope you are tearing it up up there!

  • Afew days later.

  • I wonder if he had a chance to try Casertas while he was in Providence.

  • Garcia Band did a great version of this old Chuck berry classic. They ended this show with The Maker. I wonder if that is here somewhere...

  • nice!

  • Ach! Our fallen furry friend.

  • thats great the dude on the kyse must be melvin the last show i did with jerry an that keyboard man melviin at the warfeild san fran it just blew me awaye i was what seemed like 20ft away from jerrys guitar thank you for all

  • gee thank you i dont know to say this but ive been thinking all this time that melvin seals had gone with all the rest of them. i feel like crying

  • Sweet to see Jerry with the Tiger in '91. I thought he was using Rosebud at that point for everything?

  • I just SAW Melvin Seals with his New band in L.A.! Great Show! I've seen A LOT of Garcia shows, and I thought his New band Rocked! Of course it's ALL JGB and Garcia tunes so you know Melvin will treat them Very Very Well! ( That was his Favorite Band!) It's Weird how most of the band are dead now.( No pun intended..)I miss THAT arrangement of JGB, However, the NEW JGB would make Jerry Proud! See them if you get the Chance. It will blow your mind...Even Today! Cheers to Melvin! PEACE!

  • Don't you think it's a little disingenuous to bill yourselves as JGB? I mean come on he passed away over ten years ago. Kind of like the Temptations, they just came to my home town, one original member, Otis Wilson, and he was a backup singer.

  • The show I saw was actually billed as: "Melvin Seals playing a musical tribute to the music of the JGB." I just called it JGB to save space. Melvin Still Melts It! PEACE!

  • I do like Melvin, heck of a player.

  • nobody playes like eather of them at all thanx for clearing that up yes melvin is wonderful jerry just gets the perspective in to place also play a mean as guitar thanx

  • This is better than the hampton version, I think.

  • This is what I think of when I think of Youtube, cool original footage of interest to a few die hard music lovers like myself, thanks for posting! What made this band fun to seee is evident here, the interplay beween Merle Saunders and Jerry Garcia and the band.

  • Although Jerry & Merl played together many years, this version of the band featured Melvin Seals on keys :-)
