We often spent the evening of the 24th with our familly, close familly such as dad mom and children, and the 25th with extended familly, sister, bro, grandparents... Being adult I'll have my present a little bit after midnight :-) when I was a child I sometimes had to wait untill the 25th morning :-)
@PONTIACGTOful France is very small compared to USA but we also have difference between our regions in trads, special habits or dishes... in the very south of France they have 13 desserts on Xmas meal :-) Most people have a Xmas tree, some have crèche, that is small santons representing Jesus as a baby with Ox, Donkey, St Marie, St Joseph etc., some people goes to the mass at midnight (or earlier LOL :-) )
@PONTIACGTOful the fashion of illuminated houses I saw 10 years ago while in Canada for Xmas as crossed the ocean... being Atheist and Ecologist LOL I have no Xmas tree (tree or plastic), no decoration, no crèche, I won't go to the mass either but I will be celebrating a traditionnal day to have a nice time with the people I like :-D
@PONTIACGTOful I'll give each member of my familly a little present ;-) fulfill my heart with love to let shine all around me (my hubby would tell it's everyday Xmas as I always have my heart full of love for others LOL :-) but I try to go further :-) ) I'll eat lots of chocolates and a buche (log), a roll cake with chocolate cream and topping I adore :-) I would made my stomach blow with it LOL :-)
