I went and confirmed dates(yay for receipts!); I bought Pearl and Diamond WHILE Platinum was out, I went back to the Gamestop and asked the person, "Why didn't you tell me about this?! (holds up print out of Platinum) I've shopped here for years, and you didn't tell me anything!"

That guy told me that they had a new guy on staff, and he came to the desk and said he remembered me from the other day, and apologized. And I ended up buying Platinum too. ♥

The reason why the character is named Plato is because it's the closest name to Platinum. For example pictures and ads, TPCI (The Pokemon Company International) names the characters after the games (Ruby was Ruby, Sapphire was Sapph, Emerald was Eme & Rald, Diamond was Diamond, Pearl was Pearl, and now Platinum is Plato)
