  • SIMPLY AWESOME I ALWAYS LOVED DANA PLATO:):) REST IN PEACE ALWAYS!!!:):)

  • Damn Blair was fine as hell lol

  • @Pimp2O11 you got that right! she has 2 of the sexiest legs I've ever seen.

  • Man this makes me want to watch "The facts of life" .

  • was this the pilot for Facts of Life?

  • @TenebreFan yeah and it's a mess isn't it? I have a questions. Why does Sue Ann have a shirt on that read EastLake school instead of EastLand school? Lisa Whelchel as a born again Christian, has on cugi cutters/belly shirt not to mention smoking and I thought Molly was the guitar player of the bunch? Grown man walking in a girls dorm unannounced, Ms. G show ups without school permission/not getting paid to be house mother. Where does everybody sleeps? Why has Tootie's been 12 for 3 seasons? LOL

  • I believe that the final appearance of CR on "DS" was the ep. when Mr. Drummond married Maggie (I think that this was the only ep. to feature all three of the Drummond maids in one ep.

  • this was the best episode of facts of life. it got awful in just a few years

  • what a boring intro theme song

  • Nevermind... I got it... the character "Nancy" played by felice schachter, right?

  • @kevico2 LOL! Didn't see this when I answered your post!

  • It was said that Charlotte Rae wanted out of "DS" because the kids were such brats. Odd how the ep. revolves around Nancy wnehn Nancy was fired after only one season on 'The Facts of Life" (though she made a few appearances here and there afterward).

  • @bluenail03 Do you mean "Nancy McKeon"?? Which episode did she air in on "The Different Strokes"??

  • @kevico2 No, the character of Nancy played be Felice Schacter (SP?). Jo never was ever seen on "DS."

  • @bluenail03 I heard she was a bit hesitant to leave a hit show, but fortunately it all worked out.

  • @snoops71 Yeah - but I bet a HUGE weight was lifted of CR's shoulders when this show finally became a hit and she wouldn't have to go back to "DS."

  • @bluenail03 I'll bet.

So, she really said the kids on DS were bratty? I heard they were, so it doesn't really surprise me.

  • @snoops71 She tried to be nice about it, but she made it clear that the "DS" set was a war zone with the kids. The actress that played "Nellie" on "Little House on the Prairie" said that she and the other kids on the set were warned to stay away from the "DS" kids because they were 'wonky" (whatever that means! He. He.).

  • @bluenail03 I'm assuming "wonky" means crazy, or something :) I did hear about how the DS kids were bossing adults around on the set, and were real little divas. The FOL girls were never treated like "stars", which was the case with the DS kids, so they stayed pretty level-headed. I'm sure they were much easier to work with.

  • @snoops71 Yep, i assume that it means crazy too. I read a story in which Gary Coleman held up the entire production of "DS" at about two in the morning because he wanted a hamburger.

  • @bluenail03 A hamburger? Why were they shooting at 2 in the morning anyway? They should've been in bed.

  • @snoops71 Well, that is how the sotry went. That was the first time that GC hijacked the show and made everyone wait. I believe that GC was written out of a few eps. because of this.

  • @bluenail03 Didn't they film in CA? Don't they have labor laws that say kids can only work so many hours a day? I do remember him being written out for a few episodes when he was really sick. That was around '82 or '83.

  • @snoops71 Yyou think they would have! Accooding to CR, the REAL reason why he was written out was because he and his parents were causing trouble on the set. I believe that Tootie crossedover from "TFOL" for those eps.

  • @bluenail03 What was up with his parents? I remember Tootie being on there. I thought that was very cool, having her on DS.

  • @bluenail03 - Alison Arngrim (Nellie) played on DS? btw Nellie is one of my favorite characters on LHOTP if it wasn't for her, Willie and Ms. Oleson, I never would have watch that corny show. Can't stand the Ingal family.

  • @MsSarcia No, AA never played on "DS." She was talking about being told not to hang out with the

    "DS" kids during taping breaks.

  • @bluenail03 Oh I see, they all taped their shows in the same studio. Thanks bluenail.

  • @MsSarcia Odd because "TFOL" was on NBC & "Little House" was on CBS, yet they taped on the same lot. Anyway, that is what AA said she and the other kids of "LHOTP" were told about the "DS" kids. :-)

  • @bluenail03 you know, last night I was watching the "Documentary of the Facts of Life," and Mindy Cohn (Natalie) said; they would hear fights and arguments on the set of "One Day at a Time" and "Different Strokes" all the time, but they would ignore and just did their jobs, Mindy, Nancy, Kim, Lisa and Charlotte Rae never fought or argued, that they got along on and off the set with everybody including their camera crew, producers, writers etc.

  • @bluenail03- does explain how the actors/actress on the set of DS/ODAAT lives got so screwed up on and off the set. Willis turned to drugs/busted for carrying drugs/gun, Arnold got arrested/attacked a woman/spousal abuse charges, Kimberly OD on prescription drugs and died. The show One Day at a Time--well I don't know their names and don't feel like looking it up, but I did read one girl got hooked on drugs real bad and the other married/divorce a rock star. Never really watched that show, so...

  • @bluenail03-- after watching a few early shows of TFOL on you tube, I must say getting rid of all those extra girls and leaving seven on the set wasn't so bad. I actually liked Molly and Cindy, they shouldn't have gotten cut. Wasn't to fine of Nancy her character was useless and Sue Ann, I felt she overreacted and her character was just... well I don't want to say stupid but more or so imo pointless/her acting sucked. Bringing in Jo was an awesome move on the show part imo.

  • @MsSarcia IMHO, the show made Jo WAY too mannish. It actually kinda got creepy. Notice no Natalie here.

  • @bluenail03-- mannish? What make you say that? I thought Jo shows tuffness on the outside but she was all heart inside. I like her b/c she's not known to back down and always spoke her mind, she's wasn't afraid of Blair and when she want something badly enough, she'll stop at nothing to get it. She has strong will/determination, great spirit and to top it off, she can be very likeable and funny. I learned from Jo that it's okay to be that way, take control (put up/down shield when necessary). :)

  • @MsSarcia The first season of FOL was very creepy because of the way that they had the girls dressing (or NOT dressing, in some cases). The producers that took over in Season 02 compared Season 01 to child pornography (and they were dead serious). I agree. Yuck.

  • @bluenail03- yup and ITA with the second producers. The first cross over seen was ELK! I didn't like it either, to many girls and only one Mrs. Garrett and they were gaining up on her, climbing over furnitures, screaming, throwing balls and frisbee at her acting/behaving like toddlers. The smoking, running around half naked, in coogie cutters shorts, tights flipping and spreading their legs while a grown man walking in on them unannounced and didn't even know who or why Mrs. Garrett was there.

  • @MsSarcia The new producers of Season 02 wanted to know why girls living in Peakskill, NY, are running around nearly naked in New York in the winter!! The girls doing the splits was just about enough to make one gag. Oddly enough, the creators of the show were shocked at what the producers of Season 02 said! Uhhhh...they didn't see the 'kiddie porn' aspect of this?!!!

  • Molly Ringwald!

  • OMG Tootie is so little here!

  • If Kimberly went to Eastland, why is it that she was never mentioned by Mrs. Garrett on 'The Facts of Life"?

Also, wasn't Eastland in Peekskill, NY about 50 miles from Manhattan? Seems like a really long commute since Kimberly didn't live in a dorm there.

  • @store275 its about a 45 min drive from Manhattan i live not to far from were the show was set

  • @store275 That is a good question. Kimberly was never seen on "TFOL." Eventually, I believe, there were some "DS" eps. in which Kimbely was enrolled in a public school, thus severing all ties to "TFOL."
