I remember this match, mainly b/c Venus at times refused to win...She was firing down serves at around 125 mph routinely to win the 1st set, and then in the second set she couldn't hold, but kept breaking to go ahead. Then in the 3rd she was close to the W BEFORE the breaker, and then IN the breaker she was even closer. It was exasperating, but she at least showed good tennis for the most part.

@CDawg lately it seems thats whats happening with venus shes so inconsistent, her technique is not as sound and she gets more nervous that she used to plus i think those injuries have taken a toll on her movement...

Venus is always that way. And two things: She had just come back from several months out w/ a wrist injury. And she got her back with almost the same score later in the year at the Open.
