Ah I need help I solder on the socket and everything! I placed in a cartridge and it read it! So when i try to put the housing back to normal the socket gets in the way as in if the socket is to large. Please help me Thanks!
It seems to me that this user prefers not to finish their tutorials. The case replacement tutorial doesn't have a part 4 and this tutorial doesn't have a part 3. :/
you shouldn't be putting solder on your iron and then making contact. Heat the contact and then push solder into it. Use silver solder for electronics not lead and flux paste will reduce the bond strength of your solder. Still a very informative video. Thanks.
why not lead? normal 60/40 solder can resist vibration if used properly and will not crystallize, also, it is cheap; I can get 2 pounds of it for 10 dollars.
hi im tryin to fix my ds as my socket wont hold any games but i have another ds that i am taking the game socket off to fix my good ds does that mean i dont need to take off the prongs ?
Hi Guys, really useful and clear instructions. Nice job. Have a broken NDSL I'm going try try to do this with. Any chance you've produced a vid showing how to change an on/off switch before I make a b***s up of it?
i there wounder if you can help me . i replaces this slot because the ndsl was saying no game inserted . so i replaced it and it still the same message .this is not the first i replaced one of these any ideas is there a fixture for this ?

Lead solder is perfect for copper pipes and plumbing.

Silver solder has a much lower melting point than lead. That allows the solder to adhere before you cause any damage to the board, or connectors.

Hi
What kind of soldering iron do you use please? I only have a cheap 25w iron and it's rubbish for small jobs like this one!!!
Many thanks in advance. Rik

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't see a part 3. I would like to see the end result as well.
