@AndrewBrokenBones Turn Off the Cool & Quiet Feature in the bios thats most likely your cause for the 800MHz, C&Q when the systems idle will down clock the system including your video cards, so unless you want that turn it off in the bios....

Yes I did say that and it's a fact. The 790GX 3300igp and 780g 3200igp does not support blue ray picture in picture acceleration technology. Go to toms hardware website under the 785G review and check it out yourself. Only the 785G 4200igp supports blue ray picture in picture acceleration technology. Nvidia has supported this technology since the 8200igp ATI didn't support it until the 4200igp.

@samljer No the accelerated technology helps reduce cpu usage when pip in being displayed and yes there is a diff. without it cpu usage is around 35-40% with it cpu usage is aroudn 15-20%.

CUDA is for like C++ instructions or something while doing HEAVY 3D and such the 9500GT's CUDA capability isn't that good and Physx is for 3D stuff while gaming a.k.a chars and enviroment.

For anygiven video editing that doesn't involve 3D just any card with OpenGL 2.0 is what you need conversion+encoding and such relies more in the CPU+Physical Memory that's why there is video cards like the Quadro and FireGL for Intense 3D video editing.

investing too far into the future when it comes to computers is unwise. The market is constantly in motion. If you go out and get the best thing on the shelf you will find that all too often before the thing becomes obsolete from a power perspective, it will likely become obsolete in other things such as pixel shaders, or RAM/bandwidth. If you are the guy that goes out and spends $3000+ for a computer just remember that you are probably getting an extra 3-4 fps and my computer cost me $900.

I used to want a Radeon because they were cheap and then I realized that Nvidia was integrating their new Phys-X drivers,and if you don't have those in the near future you will not be playing anything worthwhile.The war is over, Nvidia has won.Radeon would have to make their own proprietary drivers,and secure exclusive game deals to even stand a chance at this point.

I never buy top shelf anyway. But I will be getting an Nvidia as my next card despite being pleased with the performance of this IGP Radeon 3300 for now until prices get sensible again ( they recently went up 50 bucks for some reason - newegg ) You get invested in one way and they go the other. Example, If you got the best card and then they upgraded pixel shaders you would be screwed beyond belief. This is why I always suggest to my customers to buy middle of the road-ish and replace often.

crossfire/SLI is retarded because the mobos that are out there can't run both of them in x16 PCI-E and the best I have seen is dual x8's. This is you cutting your balls off both of your cards simultaneously. Instead get one card, the NVIDIA GTX 260 or better if you can afford it and sit back and enjoy the fact that you are running at the absolute fastest you can, no dual gpu's, no 1200watt psu's . Besides, it runs all the games I have seen on very high at any resolution. What more do you need?

790fx is capable of dual 16x crossfire, as is x58, but that doesn't really matter because crossfire boards use pci-e 2.0, which doubles bandwidth, an 8x pci-e 2.0 slot is the same thing as a 16x 1.1 slot. if you took the time to look up some reviews, you would realize using 8x 2.0 slots does not effect performance at all, compared to two 16x ones.

2nd u DO NOT NEED DUAL x16 IF U USE PCIe 2.0, because it isn't using all capable bandwith!

if u have a pcie 2.0 card and an pcie 2.0 board, run dual x8, its as fast as dual x16, because the videocards cant use the full power of x16 today!

u probably would feel a 1% difference!

(u also do not need 1200 watt for 2x hd4890, u just need a good 850 watt psu for that with like 2 hard drives & 2 optical drives & a few case fans!

Oh, It really depends on the board.

Most 790GX boards can handle 1066MHz.

Some Boards can handle 1200MHz, but ddr2 1200 is not worth the price, its better to buy ddr2 1066mhz and overclock it :)

just look at the box or in the manual from the motherboard, there you should see, which ram speed the board supports.

gf295 have 2 cores so i guess you dont know what you are talking about. There wont ever be 295x2 since its natively is and only SLI is available. So if you compare gf295 in sli to 4870 in crossfire it must be 4870x2 in crossfirex. Btw 4890 is faster than 4870 and eats less power so heats less :)
