I imagine that it's easier on the XS because you can layer up to 8 patches, I think. Dude, I would make a killer patch...but remember that POLYPHONY runs out after too many layers. Basically, some sounds will die out because you're overloading the board with sounds. I haven't messed with an XS... :(

1) Soft Case

2) DeeTune

3) Power Sect

4) Vintage Saw (patched in from C4 to C8)

@JojoRichards2005 Just look for sounds you can layer to make a really synthy sound. I use leads, synths, brass...anything to make a phat sound. The bad thing is that you can only do 4 patches at one time on the ES.

I like your style and I think if the patch combinations work for you then great. But I believe they are rather aggresive and harsh when being with fast changes.

My combination consists of

"Full Grand" on Motif ES7

"E. Piano 2" on MKS-20

"OB Stab Brs" from SR-JV80-04 Expansion card in a XV-5080.

The first two are key to the sound. The brass synth is a preferential thing. Some people like to use the famous Roland "Brass It!" patch.

@DaSoulChild or if you have the Roland Jv-1080 module. I use vintage case on a Motif ES8 and I believe its the Hugo Bass Patch on the Roland Jv-1080.

@ManOfGod257 I just found that out recently. I've just found the patch on my XV-5080 and after making the two mods this patch is brilliant. I've been using different patches as the situation requires. But learning the technique is the hardest part.
