um this guy isnt doing the back gesture correctly. lol. a back gesture is right to left across the whole gesture area. its only right to left half of the gesture area. the one he was doing swiches you between the apps you have open.

That would explain why it wasn't working. But give him a break, it's obviously his first time using the Pre.

@Skywalker05088 actually no he is doing it right from just setting the phone up...the extended gestures for switching through apps like you said is not on by default, you must go into the settings to turn that otherwise any length gesture is a back button. Once it is on though then you would be right.
