  • This is some serious fucking shit, not many bands come close to define a feeling as much as radiohead do.

  • That, right there, in that moment, is Space Station Thom orbiting Planet Radiohead. Celestial.

They may not be the best band in the world, but they're the BEST band to me. Only Radiohead fans truly get what they're about. And even then we're often left spellbound and dazed by them.

Between Thom, Radiohead, and to whomever up there he sends and receives his messages, he must have the most infuriating, yet epic, job at times. We read/listen to the texts. They live the text.

    Chapeau, RH. Chapeau.

  • Jonny is so badass.

  • oh man.. I wish I was there watching this live.. : (

  • im floating

  • This is the best live version i have ever heard. I saw them live in Vancouver in 2003 and 2008. Crazy good.

  • @mikeinbc I envy you man

  • Apparently, this song came about because Jonny called Thom a poor musician. So, Thom sat at his piano for days and came up with the chords for this song. It's weird because Jonny's guitar and Thom's piano work mesh together so well in this song.

  • @manicfoot So, that's why Thom does the "now who's the poor musician?" expression at 3:34

It could also be described as the "ha, I kicked your ass!" experssion

  • @AmelieDemy haha.. Well observed!

  • @manicfoot Source? Also, Thom IS a poor musician, if we speak technically. But speaking technically about music is not a good idea in my head. If it's good, who cares?

  • My son was about 4 when this came out and I used to sing it to him when it was bedtime. Sometimes I would lay with him as he slept and whisper these words to him. A few years later when he was about 10 he made me a special "Fathers Day" CD and this was one of the songs. I thought he had forgot it by then. When I asked him why he added it, he said he had room for a few more songs on the disc and that it was an afterthought. Yea, one that kills me everytime I hear it. (weeping Dad)

  • @XXamnesiacXX woah thats a depressing song to sing to a kid

  • I'm not joking about the note, at 3.49 he plays a D, he should play a D-sharp, it's not on the cd, it doesn't fit in the last chord he plays, I think that note hurts in his ears, but I could be wrong about his emotion, maybe he is just touched by the song. One of the best songs ever...

  • @peperonnie2 Maybe it was for dramatic effect. Who knows? They're still mindblowing.

  • I just noticed that his face expression changes at about 3:47 and he appears to be crying? Am I seeing things that are not there? Has anybody else noticed?

  • @AmelieDemy I see, it's because he's playing a wrong note on his piano (a D in stead of a D#)

  • @peperonnie2 He's not playing a wrong note and he wouldn't cry for that! You must be joking! I think he's just touched by the song

  • Just LOve Them!!!!!!

  • Hail to the Thief was underrated by the press. It's still the album I listen to the least, though (except for Pablo Honey)

  • this is so good

  • Well isn't this the best song ever!

  • How under-rated Hail To The Thief is!!!!!!

  • @jimmycanion Absolutely...one of my top Albums ever, simply brilliant!

  • Thom's clearly really happy playing tat song. truly magical moment.

  • When I first heard this song, I just closed my eyes and let it take me to space... I did an acoustic version on the video responses. I played mostly the piano parts on my guitar and sang along. This is one of my all time favorite Radiohead songs ever.. Thom's voice is brilliant... and his piano along with the rest of the band is just incredible.. Imagine being there... to see this... just incredible... This is a great live version... Probably my favorite I've seen so far..

  • Thom is killing me.

  • Thoms thinking fark that sounds awesome and indeed it does

  • it's just amazing how he can look like he's joking around and smiling while still producing THE MOST BEAUTIFUL voice that just takes you somewhere else

  • This song is sublime!

  • BEST SONG EVER !!

  • Helped me through some sticky times this gorgeous band. Love them.

  • ONLY EXELENT .

  • jonny is superb!!! i love his playing!!!

  • @LosPeralta I hope the same for myself

  • The only band in the world that has the capacity to change the way you look up on so many different situations

  • "Maybe you'll be president, but not for long."

Why were you so wrong, Radiohead? :(

  • @Elmoogle "Maybe you'll be president, but know right from wrong."

  • you can here a woman telling Thom to piss off at the end of that song, which is why Thom looks around and says Uhh! before Paranoid Android, then she calls him a ugly piggy

  • These guys have always been this good. They have just begun to learn to use the tools they love.

  • Beautiful, beautiful song.

  • yes!:)

  • Suchasweetlittlesmile. Makeshappyfeelinginside. But why??

  • It doesn't get better than this.

  • Compellingly Beautiful.

  • lol aww i loves dis song so much:) its so relaxin:) <3

  • This is as smooth as jazz. Maybe smoother...amazing and I think They are the only ones to transcend modern music 2 that level.

  • great change of pace in the set :)

  • muito bom

  • Out of this world!

i just lay back and listen, it gives me sense of weightlessness i.e as in smoking weeds

  • he has the most amazing male voice I've ever heard. impossible to imitate. Female voice goes to Bjork

  • this is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen...i love his smile, shows the passion he has in this song. ah! it makes me smile

  • It's amazing how Radiohead and Joy Division have exploded into popular consciousness over the last 5 years. In 2000 I always felt like the only kid on the bus listening to them!

  • Best band of our times and the second best ever.

    Peace

  • Comment removed

  • @mimesis6mime Pink Floyd. But Radiohead will be an equal Legend.

    Peace.

P.S. Joy Division was a great band too.

  • I like to that when people look back to our time, Radiohead will have the same status as the Beatles do today. Not that I don't love Pink Floyd.

  • @justyn87 You're correct.

    Peace.

  • @justyn87 They are definitely the ones to receive the torch from the Beatles...the most important influential band since.

  • @justyn87 i honestly think radiohead are more like the pink floyd of the 90s. the beatles wont be repeated again. maybe in a different form some musical entity in the future can come close to them but as a band, no one can do what they did.

  • Comment removed

  • @rockaires Which band do you think is the best band ever? the beatles i presume?

  • @axLhimself No, Pink Floyd.

    Peace.

  • oh, they totally deserve that title as well.. Peace..

  • @axLhimself Yeah, peace.

  • how could a performance be any more perfect? FUCK!

  • amazing time signature changes in this song. really good song. one of my fav songs by my no.1 band.

  • he wrote this for his kid

  • no. he wrote this for HTTT

it has no sign of the inspiration of kid a or amnesiac

  • I meant that he wrote this for his son

  • oh! :-P xD sorry...

  • u better be!!!!!

  • This song is very under-rated. I would rank it in Radiohead's top five

  • @StanleyDonwood

is this really stanley donwood or just an imitator??

  • I ask my self everday

  • @StanleyDonwood

It is under rated no quarrel there, however top 5 is too high I believe. Agree to disagree

  • Every time I hear this version of this song, I appreciate it more. Years after the release, gives me goosebumps. Maybe I'll be president as well.....

Must admit I'd far prefer Pres. Yorke though...... ;)

  • Comment removed

  • DAM the passion in his eyes at the end....just omg no words to describe the level of grace in that performance :o

  • OMG!!!!AWESOME PERFORMANCE!!!!!I LUV RADIOHEAD SO MUCH!!!Where's the photo of Noah on the piano?

  • Absolutely sublime. My favorite Radiohead song of all time. Does anyone have a more beautiful, expressive, poignant voice than Thom Yorke? Gosh no. (Rhetorical question.)

  • This is your favorite Radiohead song? Gosh, there are so many songs more beautiful!

  • Awesome. Pyramid Song pt. 2.

  • Beautiful...

  • he's playing with his son's picture on the piano...that's would be enough to create that incredible performance, but he's a genius so it becomes "fucking special"!

  • he has a son? whos his mother?

  • at present 2 children ...a boy Noah and a girl Agnes, same mother Rachel Owen...didn't he call you to tell about it?:-))

  • how did i not know this thing... i thought i knew everything about Radiohead.. so are they still married?

  • actually, they never married. They are together still, yes.

  • rachel owen.

  • Thats not the picture of Noal on the piano.

  • bleepsandglitches is completely right!

edit: he's playing with a picture of Edward Benjamin Britten on the piano :-))

    Amazing performance remains the same!

  • I think its the picture of an English composer

  • no it's his son, I'm pretty sure

  • Even Thom gets drunk on the brilliance of Radiohead.

  • this is as all radiohead stuff is amazing---

i sing just started to check out my stuff please

  • i love how this song sucks you in and takes you to a different world. easily in my top 5 radiohead songs

  • exactly. this song takes you into space and 4 minutes after, you come back different.

    Amzing

  • I met my wife at a Radiohead concert.

  • really? thats totally romantic.

  • OMG! yeah? that is soo cool!!! =]]

  • @LosPeralta that is the most amazing story i have ever heard!!!!!!! oh my word!

  • @LosPeralta If I found a girl that loved Radiohead as much as I do I would marry her on the spot.

  • @JTtheLAR i found that girl, she introduced me to Radiohead, someone is out there for everyone, doesnt matter the sex, ethnicity, anything - just need to find what makes you happy in life, it is far too short and you will regret it otherwise

we get one chance here people

  • @JTtheLAR Haha! I told my friend something similar just last week. None of my friends or even my acquaintances like Radiohead as much as I do (or at all, for that matter). I feel like when I finally meet someone who does, I will yet out "oh my god I love you!" Then again, that might scare them away...

    Anyway, amazing upload. Thank you!

  • @JTtheLAR la verdad ...

  • @JTtheLAR so would i -!!

  • @JTtheLAR hahahahaa if only i didnt love the guy i was with now.

  • @LosPeralta wow thats amazing like seriously ,

  • @LosPeralta ohmygod really?? that's fucking amaizing

  • @LosPeralta Oh man, that was a blessing. I wanna meet my wife at a concert too.

  • @LosPeralta omg...lucky! i said that..ha...when i find a girl who like's radiohead...that will be the one :P

  • @LosPeralta No you did not

  • @LosPeralta

I want this to be true.

  • @LosPeralta You're a lucky man, man

  • @LosPeralta thats a wonderful memory

  • Radiohead is a life changing experience. Yeah or no?

  • yes

  • I agree, cheers!

  • @LosPeralta YEAH to the 500,000 power

  • @LosPeralta yes

  • You can tell Thom really enjoys playing this song... look at him kinda smile towards the end haha. Shit id love to play that song too...especially if i made it. This song gives me chills. I choked up when i saw them play this...the performance is so beautiful. No one compares or even comes close to Radiohead!

  • Its about his son.

  • I definitely agree with all comments below. I recently really, deeply listened to Hail to the Thief and it has been my top Radiohead album for some period now. Its gorgeous and even that word can never put into words what it really is.

  • I get completely lost in a trance EVERY time I listen to this song. And it doesn't gradually build up, it's immediate. <3

  • didn't you notice he's counting? the time signature..

at an interview i read they said they have to count all the time when they're recording this song.awesome people

  • that's awesome. radiohead is a true group of musicians. unlike ac/dc lol

  • ugh hail to the thief does not get the credit it deserves. its dark, creepy, beautiful, and brilliant

  • I KNOW!! it's my favorite album.

  • every song on hail to the thief is gold, my friends.

  • edit: every song made by radiohead is gold, my friends.

  • truer words were never spoken -spoke? Wrote? Truer words were never wrote. (ok, written, whatever!)

Almost every single song on every single Radiohead album is gold - you're right about that... and the world is better off for this band and their music, our friends

  • how sexy is thom yorke!!! i love him!

  • fuckin' freaky my God!

  • Thom's a happy camper, isn't he.

  • yeah i'm sure thom would say the same thing...plus this is at glastonbury fucking intense energies... "the feeling i had at glastonbury...it was not a human feeling" -thom. suck it.

  • i think id be ready to die after seeing them play live.

  • i completely agree!

  • wow, radiohead is the best band i ever heard. I hope they still playing and publishing disks for a long time. Thom genius!!

  • god it's very special isn't it.

  • i can not understand how this makes me feel! they seem to to tke me to a place no other can!

  • It's like seeing something for the first time as a kid that you are fascinated by but can't understand.

  • That's a good explanation I like that. Thom don't stop writing music anytime soon im sure you know how much we all need it. =)

  • i'd have a huge smile on my face too if i helped write a song like that.

  • hermosaaa!

    gracias por subiir!
