Marijuana is a terrible drug. I very much hope it is never legalized. Blah blah blah, "you're dumb it's good for you". No the fuck it's not. It's addictive. It changes people. It causes the destruction of neurons in the brain and prevents new ones from forming (which are suppose to be constantly forming). It's so frustrating that weed (and hemp) are illegal. The hemp plant is a better, cleaner source of paper: 1) In the same 1 acre of land, you can grow 9 times the hemp (and make 9 times the paper) than trees, 2) It absorbs CO2 (and make oxygen) more efficiently than trees, and since more hemp grows on the same land, it creates more oxygen, 3) It does less damage to the soil, 4) you need much less chemical processing for hemp paper than tree pulp paper.
Its just fear man....people are afraid that if marijuana is legalized that the gates of hell will open giving way for anarchy or something...I dunno...but the fact of the matter is people are being locked up for using a substance that is NOT shown to be dangerous. My personal problem with marijuana is that I had some great friends at school who began taking it. Before that, they were excellent students, they were dedicated. After marijuana it seemed like their world completely changed, they were all the time stoned, stole money from their family to buy it, never cared for education again. Some of them never finished school, one of them became a drug dealer, and none of them go to college. I think some of them take harder drugs now, aint sure..

Marijuana has been proven to actually be less dangerous than tobacco because it doesn't contain the carcinogens that tobacco has. If you substitute weed for tobacco or alcohol you can add 7-12 years to your life (and also prevent alzheimer's and parkinson's disease)

It's so frustrating that weed (and hemp) are illegal. The hemp plant is a better, cleaner source of paper: 1) In the same 1 acre of land, you can grow 9 times the hemp (and make 9 times the paper) than trees, 2) It absorbs CO2 (and make oxygen) more efficiently than trees, and since more hemp grows on the same land, it creates more oxygen, 3) It does less damage to the soil, 4) you need much less chemical processing for hemp paper than tree pulp paper.

For A LOT of people its not about that, just like with alcohol. Not everyone does it to get messed, but because they enjoy it. Except marijuana actually has medical benefits.

My personal problem with marijuana is that I had some great friends at school who began taking it. Before that, they were excellent students, they were dedicated. After marijuana it seemed like their world completely changed, they were all the time stoned, stole money from their family to buy it, never cared for education again. Some of them never finished school, one of them became a drug dealer, and none of them go to college. I think some of them take harder drugs now, aint sure..

Marijuana has been proven to actually be less dangerous than tobacco because it doesn't contain the carcinogens that tobacco has. If you substitute weed for tobacco or alcohol you can add 7-12 years to your life (and also prevent alzheimer's and parkinson's disease)

@chizel17 Alcohol isn't more dangerous than pot. It's the people that use or abuse them that are dangerous. Even coffee (or the lack of it) could even be said to be dangerous.
