I just looked up the meaning of terrorism. It means, the systematic use of terror expecially as a means of coercion. This sounds like slavery and oppression to me. Interesting. I just watched this response video, but I couldn't really tie together everything you were talking about. It seemed like a bit of a rant to me. Nonetheless I was glad to see the Catholic priest defending Rev. Wright, and it is just shameless when the FAUX News reporter threw out the laughable "hater" and "bigot" accusations. They do this because they are afraid of anyone speaking out against the establishment.

you are absolutely right I am a white woman and brought the issue up and had to disable the comments box because people literally didn't get it. I didn't think Rev. wright said anything that wasn't the truth and I don't believe it should have even been an issue with the media. It wasn't an issue when white rev. said basically the same thing like Falwell and company.

You're free to believe as you wish. I, on the other hand, find the things Wright said from the pulpit to be completely off color. The clips I've heard show him speaking hate against others, which is quite the opposite from what I would expect from a church. Politics and hate speech do not belong under the steeple. It's that simple. I don't care what the color of the man's skin is, but he's responsible for his words and actions.

Wright, you and your ilk set back race relations.

You are right to a point but it is not for the media to be putting out there little snippets of the actual sermon and then not give the whole story. Not only that it is not anyone else's buisness what goes on in the church sermon's it only became an issue because an African American was running for president. they didn't play over and over again Falwell's statements when bush was running for president in 2004 that is the point nothing else.

It's my opinion that any preacher spewing racial epithets and political indoctrination should be removed from the pulpit. The reason other divisive priests aren't getting the negative coverage is because they don't have one of their members under the spotlight. I'm not especially religious, but would not tolerate such things from any religious organization I might choose to attend. If somehow the church has been entirely misrepresented, then I apologize. Till then, I judge what I see.

I also believe that you have fallen in to the trap that the media and the Republicans set for you. I am all for better race relations I just don't see the point of the media not giving the whole story. You also have to understand that Wright was speaking from a quote that was written by a white diplomat.

You need to learn not to judge people as well for you have no idea what there true beliefs are. So, please don't question by beliefs for I am not a church goer. I am natural as far as religion

Ok, first off his sermons are available to anyone who is interested enough. The media play snippets for most things as evidence(time management) and in the end often miss the general tone and driving point. I can't say whether or not Wright or his church is a victim in this case, but you have to admit that those snippets don't help. It is true that this is only really an issue because it's reflecting on a presidential candidate who's been given a free ride from the press.

Well then it is my opinion that Falwell and friends should have been aired four years ago like the dirty laundry that they are. But the fact of the matter is that they weren't. You act as if people who don't disagree entirely with what is said are some who racist but that isn't it. I may not agree with every thing Wright said not everything was false either. I am not religious and it doesn't bother me. As I remember we have separation of church & state. continue ....

The only thing the media has gotten Obama for is the Wright issue. His empty policies haven't been criticized at all. Falwell was out there; the difference is that there wasn't a strong tie between him and the candidate. "There is one evil that we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men." Seperation of church and state means the government leaves religions alone, and relgions leave politics alone. However a candidate's beliefs and ideologies are game. Look at the church for that

Obama given a free ride now thats a new one I am not one for watching the news but what I do watch is not giving Obama a free ride. If the media were giving Obama a free ride they wouldn't be talking about every little thing that he has done wrong in is life I.E Rezko Rev. Wright and so on. The only person the press is giving a free ride to right now is McCain.

You can't absolutely use that logic to say that Obama is Malcolm X's reincarnate though. However, till Obama denounces the comments made in his church(20 odd years, right?) he's going to be labeled along with those others.

He made a poor political move in my opinion in leaving the church to mostly take the media away rather than to distance himself from the radical beliefs taught there.
