  • YOU'RE A NUT.. FISHIN AROUND IN THAT LITTLE BOAT..! LOL.

  • This guy is Awesome!

  • awesome! that's the thrill of fishing in the ocean. you don't know what you'll catch.

had that fish been unhooked would you have guessed it was a Barracuda or is it common in that area?

  • @SilverSurfer3o answer is Yes I knew it was Barracuda after it made a few runs. Each type of fish have distinct way of runs and through the years of experience one gets to know what type fish is pulling the line even before actually seeing the fish.

    tight lines,

  • LINE IS VERY WEAK BUT U GET LUCKY SOME TIME I THINK ITS NO MORE THAN 3 LB TEST NOT MENT TO CATCH BIG FISH BUT I JUST CAUGHT A STING RAY ON ONE CHECK OUT MY VID AT FATESHTIBOY09

  • can I please ask u what's the capacity of the line used with your sabiki, and the hooks size and what's the hook loaded with ??!! I mean what is ur artificial bait on the hook ???!!

am here in perth australia and I can't find this kind of heavy sabiki here so I guess I'll make it myself.

  • @euyooo

I use Hayabusa 507E or 502E sabiki rig you can Google it. The main line is 40lb and 30lb branch 4 sets of hooks size 14. I do not put any bait on the sabiki rig however other people tip the hooks with strips of squid and it works very well. Due to big fish that I am after I use 30lbs line on all my fishing reels.

  • @jceviche

sorry for bothering again, what's the type of real and rod u have here ??!!

I need a multipurpose rod that don't break when I catch a decent size sting ray and I can feel a small fish with it as well,

what is the type of ur rod and the reel as well please,

    thanks

  • @jceviche I was wondering why it didnt break the line..now i know

  • Hey Johnny, great catch. I caught a bonita on my sabiki rig outhere in La Jolla--not sure why it bit that. Question, do you wear a wetsuit? Seems like I am always too hot or too cold in my yak.

  • 1004w12,

Yes I wear wetsuit specially on Winter time when water temperature is in mid 50's. A person would not last very long should he fall on the water due to hypothermia. I just soak my feet to cool off if I feel hot or drink lots of water.

    Be safe,

  • Brah,

gotta say, some of the best fishing videos on youtube. Way to rep the west coast! Keep up the good work, and of course...

    tight lines!

  • My step brother grabs me by the dogtag and pulls me back, grabs my mouth, and tells me to shut the hell up...there's a monster right by us!!! That Baracuda would've maybe made a record, we were just stupid kids!!!

  • Hey Johnny Brotha,

You know how much I LOVE your videos, after watching this one, I thought I might share a story. I was 12 years old, in the keys, off a canal. My step brother and I were in a 6ft blowup raft!!! We were fishing the bottom and doing pretty good!!! On a random day of fishing, we got a strong bump on the bottom of our blowup boat!! Me, with my grandfathers Navy DogTags on, lean over with my divers mask on an look to see what happened!!! I see a 6 foot Baracuda staring at me!!!

  • How'd you do that? No wire leader?

  • Tigerpuffer,

Sometimes you can catch Barracuda without wire leader if they are lip hooked. Most of the time they will cut the mono with thier sharp teeth.

    TL,

    Johnny Ceviche

  • Hey, thanks for making these great videos. I also checked out your website, and it is great, too. I would love to fish in a kayak in the future, because I think people who do so are at an advantage, because they get to go fishing in areas where fish are not as plentiful for a party boat. Anyway, I have a website, as well, and I would like some input from a fellow angler. I would be honored if you checked it out. The link is on my youtube page. Thanks Johnny, and good fishing!
