Not gay essential in a big dunk sim you even get dunked in the dark, you see all helicopters are top heavy all the equipment, engines, gearbox etc are at the top so the weight makes it flip over on landing its very rare a helicopter will stay upright in the water.
Yeah, but will there be people out in the middle of nowhere to jump in and save you? That was an extremely quick rescue. Unless you are willing to hold your breath for two hours, then you toast.
I am actually wondering if basic swimming skills are needed to participate in the HUET exercise, a friend of mine has been offered a job with an Oil Co. so he would have to take this test to work offshore. Just wondering if I should first tell him to learn to swim/float or at least practise breath holding - he would probably freak at the thought of it so should be a picture perfect moment to see him do the HUET :-)
Do you guys have a clue about the swimming skills requirement?
You probably just earned lots of good wishes courtesy of my friend :-) Though, I have been telling him to at least get into the swimming pool and be comfortable in water, guess its fear of water that is the biggest barrier for most people to learn to swim.
Once, a person is relaxed in water, floating in it is the next natural thing. Thanks so much for the information!
This obviously an offshore survival training course, a good one in Aberdeen, Scotland look at the Robert Gordon Institute site, another in Lowestoft U.K. much more realistic than this one.
Este curso nem se compara a FALK NUTEC, ainda mas o combate a incêndio.

I see, it appears from the training you swim out of the overturned helicopter to the surface. Great Training, how much did that cost?

well... it would be great if conditions at a real crash were at least somehow the same
