  • Roger Hardin for President !!!

  • Pick it brother!

  • Very nice picking.

  • This was absolutely perfect technically and musicially!Thank you for sharing this great cover! You rock!;)

  • A true Jedi Guitar Master!

  • well, 8 people tried to play this, but failed ;) ... dude, that is awesome!!! congrats!!!

  • What a Hoss of a Picker!

  • Great Job!

  • Ahahaha I could totally see myself doing that, and getting weird looks from the neighbors

  • wow dude, u added bass notes, sweetness; took me a while to figure out the p-m-i rolls, I would have to start all over to learn it like you, I can thump most tunes solo style but this one I always assumed I needed rythym backup, kudos

  • I bet Chuck Norris couldn't do that. But you did it!

  • hilarious you put away the good guitar and took out the taylor for the unicycle ride.

  • @gtq838 noticed that , too, i see. lol! : )

  • what a lovely tune ^^ bit difrent from the original but damn im glad music doesn't hurt when it hits u

("One good thing about music, when it hits- you feel no pain" Bob Marley)

  • Everything is epic on a unicycle

  • whoa i can't even ride a bike without four wheels

  • @kerim24k or not so simple lol :P

  • LOL ! (the guy who is "not impressed" that you can play and unicycle bwa-ha ha ! ! ) Really enjoyed your arrangement. Thanks for posting ! Maybe I'll go buy myself a unicycle... looks like a great way to relax from the monotony of being trapped in the woodshed with Jerry Reed ! ( For you young 'uns out there.. it's just an old music expression don't worry about it )

  • Nice interpretation with the alternating bass and some tasty licks of your own.

  • epic unicycle is epic D:

  • FINALLY SOMEONE WHO PLAYS IT WITH THE BASSLINE ON ONE GUITAR!!...

    the unicycle was cool too...

  • i really hope you do this for a living!

  • haha nice!

  • I gotta say, that is some top notch playing and a really creative, fresh arrangement! Awesome. However, the unicycle riding, well, for me anyway didn't make it any better. In fact it cheapened it. I don't care that you can ride a unicycle while holding or playing a guitar. Just keep doing those great arrangements and playing the guitar.

  • stupid question, but what's the song at the end?XD

  • Best Cover E-V-E-R!!!!!!!

  • fingers like a tap-dancingspider. great job. great skills

  • SHEDS ON A NEW LEVEL!

  • Thats incredibly well arranged i approve

  • Wow man, incredible. It's one hell of an arrangement. This one should become a classic too.

  • top notch!

  • lets see you do that while drinking a glass of water.... ;)

  • Literally laughed out loud at the audacity of that. I may never be good enough to play Jerry's breakdown but I simply gotta learn to play guitar on a unicycle!

    Brilliant stuff

  • Holy Crap! That was great!!!!!!

  • Picking at its best!

  • Man, you are marvellous

  • Are you F'ing kidding me!!! He's literally on a unicycle. This guy is insane!

  • Incredible. i've been playing 27 years and can't make my mind even THINK that way. OUTSTANDING!!! Jerry is looking down and smiling from ear-to-ear.

  • thats just ridiculously cool

  • simply amazing, and scary what talents are out there not making millions and still have to ride their unicycles to work

  • oh hell yeah! ragtime formatting! this improved an already good song

  • WOW !

  • This is what i love about the folk and bluegrass scene. He's not famous but he's one of the best in the world. It's how it should be.

  • Increible amigo. 5 stars. Si Dios existe deberia tocar asi.

    Great job.

  • Holy sh*t, and I thought the melody alone was difficult enough to play!

  • Comment removed

  • Dude! Awesome!

  • Great! Especially the unicycle part :D

  • Excellent job, my man. One of the best I've heard anywhere. Jerry and Chet would be proud!

  • Looks like you used the Taylor for the unicycle shots!

  • YES SIR!!!!!!!!

  • I would have been impressed with one or the other. You rock man!

  • LMAO@ the unicycle thing. That was exceptional!! Thanks. :))

  • I could play this except my unicycle has a flat right now.

  • Very Nice!!

  • JAJAJAJJAAJJAJAJ THAT was funny as hell, and flawless by the way, I definetevely LOVED your arrangement. I´ll visit your myspace.

  • Wow...the melody is hard enough...bassling too?!? That's intense..

ROFL at the unicycle...that was so random, didn't expect that...

    ANYWAYS, fantastic, flawless playing

  • ugh the song is so long how can you memorize that i mean so many parts im trying to learn it :|

  • I need tabs, could anyone send me some?

  • he has a website.

i think the tabs and the tuning are on it.

theres a pdf you can download.

  • WOW!!! What a great arrangement!!!

    All the best,

    Joe

  • Very nice. Good job

  • Great reply

    thegratefulbigdaddy ^^

  • So I was thinking about the hours of practice it would take to play this well, and then I saw you on your bike and thought: "I wonder if he practices on the way to work?". And then I was thinking:"so he cares about the enviroment, so he bikes. He's very efficient with his time, he gets lots of excerise, learns how to play the guitar, entertains the neighbourhood, and saves money on gas!"

  • You make it look so darn easy, but play brilliantly. :)

  • Great stuff, sounds a lot like Scotty Anderson, some serious balancing skills there!

  • whoa, one man band!! Fantastic~ Really nice arrangement

  • LOL nice

  • there is no such thing as a wrong key, just different keys. =)

  • grande!!!!!

  • Great! I can do neither...

  • OMFG!!!!

  • ..HOLY SHIT..

  • sorry. two tones

  • Is that a special guitar or is it just tuned really high with the 5 string tuned up a tone?

  • Hey, great job, also getting the bass part in!

    Cheers

    Martin

  • okey, maybe a stupid question, but what's a unicycle?

  • @kbkbabbie Google something before you ask a stupid question.

  • hui...nice :

  • Uau!

U impressed me. can u actually walk on d monocycle and play? eheheheh

    Amazing!

  • WOW I am truly impressed. Adding the bass and rythim is awesome. Did you use standard tuning? It looked like you were using a droped D. Do you have tab available for purchase

  • a thumb pick....

  • yea youre a dumbass

  • its a thing that makes you play like jerry reed without any effort

  • oh yeah !!!! nice !!! country :D

  • You're awesome. <---- emphasis on awesome

  • Truly stunning performance. i've watched EVERY version of this song and I don't thing anyone else (even Jerry & Chet) can play this many parts at once. I checked out your website and am ordering your CD. Seriously great musicianship. : >

  • uh he's hecka bustin chop yo! (lol)

  • Of the 10,000,000 people who put themselves playing guitar on Youtube, you are the first who has impressed me. Very well done!

  • Damn! That was awesome! Especially on the unicycle. Give old Jerry a run for his money! "You're killin' me son!"

  • HAha, what a idea with your unicycle !!

    10*s from Austria !

    cheers,

    wolfgang

  • Great arrangement!

  • Damn, dude. This is better than the real one.

  • stucazz!

  • ROFLMAOOOO at the ending, dude that was POWERFULLLLLLLLL i lo ve your arragnement ando your playing. ROCK!

  • so greatttt

  • oh my fucking god, you're sick! good job man!

  • This video's title is Jerry's Breakdown On a Unicycle yet we cannot ear you play Jerry's Breakdown while you're on a unicycle. Nevertheless, this was well played.

  • Great playing! See you at Caas?

  • dude you'r amazing...

serious... i'm playing the piece the same style you are doing it, its just my signature style... but you are seriously bringing it to the next level :O:O

    great job, keep going :D

i'd love to see more of you

    in public

  • Amazing mate!!

  • I love that. Jerry's Breakdown is the hardest piece I've ever tried to play. I just can't get it right. Was that standard tuning,or a drop key? Amazing. The unicycle is too weird. I'd be afraid of falling and busting my guitar. You could've won that stupid America's Got Talent show, hands down.

  • omg this dude is my hero, i can ride a unicylce but i cant play jerry's breakdown, you have inspired me XD

  • Very cool, most interesting version. I also play this tune myself, but I can't keep up the alternating base. Keeping that base up the whole time is dam hard. It's a job in itself just playing Jerry's part, but putting the base line in too is awesome. A job well done

  • awesome.....best i've seen on youtube for long time!

  • man you are awsome!! maybe i could play like you in what.. 10 years? im taking guitar lessons now so i can be good as you

  • you will need a very good teacher :P

  • I never spotted the arrangement on the site. I was going to try to pick it up from the video but this is really helpful and very generous of Roger to put it out online. Many thanks to him. I have listened to this tune a lot and it really does stand the test of repeated listening.I would never have thought that someone could arrange it this way without the open string cascades and it could sound so good.

  • Hey! Very nice. This is the best version of Jerry's Breakdown I've ever seen! Really inspiring. And I wanted to thank you for the arrangement on pdf from your site, this is going to be a though one to learn:P

    Cheers

  • I really love this arrangement as it is so different and includes the electric section done acoustically. I first heard it on your myspace. I play the tune the usual way (not always perfectly) but I love the syncopated bass that you have used and it would suit my own style of playing more so I may try to get to grips with your arrangement if I can. Great job!

  • Thanks syncopater999. I hope you have good with learning it. It is an arrangement that I have to stay on top of myself. I wish it was not hard but, it is what it is. take care

  • This is unbelievable stuff. Roger you are my hero. I try to learn this one some day but it is one of the hardest songs out there. True masterpiece arrangement.

  • Thanks Tomi. You are the only other one I know that plays my arrangement. I really love your guitar playing especially your Bon Jovi arrangement. Now with your video's I can learn it. Take Care my friend.

  • that's class. love the unicycling footage, very original!

  • So smoth and great timing it was like watching Chet ....." you made it look ao easy" ...

  • Fantastic stuff Roger this should give the recognition you deserve. I'm off to buy a unicycle. The guitar part looks impossible!

    Cheers

  • Awsesome playing.

  • Great!

  • great! Was that a high-strung guitar? Maybe I've just been tuned too low!

  • its an open G tuning. Same tuning Chet played Ave Maria in D G D G B E. Thanks

  • 5 stars + ! Great picking, Roger.

    Martin

  • Thanks marlu333

  • Great Job Roger. I enjoyed that, you know riding that bike would be dangerous for us older players, so we'll just have to watch. Bobby G.

  • Thanks Bobby. I love your playing. You are one of my favorite pickers. I just got that unicycle last march. Before that the last time I had ridden a uni was about 31 years ago. I was probably 90 pounds then. I could still ride after all these years.

  • Great sir, can you chew gum along with the unicycle and playing guitar? Wow! Your talented sir!

  • I would have to learn to chew gum. Thanks

  • Man I like your pickin post more please!

  • Well done....Great sound and a great song....

Please post some more if you can.....
