This is great although now youve made it public access. You need to check with the FAA ref FAR 101. There are specific rules and coordination required for what you are doing to guard against collisions with Air Traffic.

@hhocar, Same was done by Alexei Karpenko in 2007, he writes its a hobby that many others do as well. If you find Alexei Karpenko page via google, he has many nice still pictures from high altitude. But wonder if weather balloon and payload is capable of damaging aircraft's engine.

I saw this last week, still want to give this a go myself. Personaly I would just use a GPS camera phone to cut down on weight.
