  • God, I love Moore, Not in a gay way, But in a great man way XD

  • The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.

    -Winston Churchill

  • Capitalism is the essence of greed applied to the social system. Its every person for themselves, each having to fight with one another to get ahead. Its rewards are not based on merit, or talent, or relevance of any kind, but rather selfishness and privilege.

  • its not a Plutocracy its a Plutonamy

  • This isn't Capitalism, its Fascism. That fact that you guys can't see that says a TON about what you know about politics and economics.

  • Comment removed

  • How can Michael Moore make a film against capitalism and then charge a person 12 dollars a person to do so

  • @LeighMet he isn't charging them, techincally, the Weinsteins (Bob & Harvey) are the one's charging, since they produced it.

  • @FirebirdCamaro1220 but he makes money right off of his idea?

  • I totally agree

  • Just a heads up 2/3 of the 400 richest americans are entirely self made

  • Reagan brought the corruption of Wall Street into government which has destroyed the economy not just in the US but world wide..Goldman Sachs stole 100's of billions thru the FED and the backdoor bailout..all these people should be put on trial for fraud and grand theft

  • @xadam2dudex

I hate how people blame Reagan for things going down.

I'm pretty sure it was because of the cold war ending

  • @ssahagun1 Reagan under the directorship of the banking cartel opened the door to the complete take over of the government by the corporate lobby and he wasn't contray to the propaganda didn't end the cold war the USSR was collapsing by it's own corruption and the slave states of eastern europe pressing for freedom...the US outspent the USSR in defense spending ( thru deficit spending ) which bankrupted the USSR leading to the dissolution of the government

  • @xadam2dudex

I didn't day HE ended the cold war.

I said that the cold war ending was the major effect of the US economy forever.

oh an look up who said this:

"A National debt, if not excessive shall be to us a National blessing"

  • @ssahagun1 US economy forever ?? oh and look up who said this :

"We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt."

  • stupid free market... i didn't get my pony

  • Ahem... the richest ONE per cent don't amass more wealth than the remaining NINETY FIVE percent???????????????????????'

  • What this video review and Moore's film describes is not capitalism but fascism and corporatism, get your facts straight.

And Moore has the least to say in this, he's a socialist who is happy to steal from others via taxes.

  • your a fucking idiot, capitalism is a recognition that profit is inevitable.

  • Poor people are the niggers of Capitalism..

  • It's so weird that unbridled capitalism is supposed to do all these wonderful things, like the invisible hand is that of God. But it isn't, it this thing that's been given anthropomorphic traits. It's like saying a pile of dog-shit can dance around and sing, just because it's said that it can. Even Communists believe in the invisible hand, any left-wing person not in the Communist mindset that wishes to reform capitalism is told by even them it's impossible.

  • what a mono tone dude... just stop reading the script or change your job!

  • Rethink this,,there are too many people out the that started out with nothing and became rich. Just because some people want to sit at home living from paycheck to paycheck bitching about the rich is their choice and need to stop blaming others for their problems. If a poor person want to get ahead they can and nobody can tell me they can't.

  • "Don't disturb the olive oil and the wine"

  • OMG a video that DIDN'T bash Moore?

  • I WANT MY FUCKING PONY!!! XD

  • tells the president to speed it up ... lol

  • your information is very wrong

  • most revolutions start when things are really bad. america is a long way from the bottom of the barrel. you need over 50% unemployment

  • haha, over 50%. you're insane.

  • ye revolution yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeefucking awesome

  • shut the fuck up charle.lol

  • this cuts off at 2 minutes... do u have another link for the review?

  • This reviewer is an idiot. Doesn't anyone understand how to be objective, to discern between fact and bias? Certainly not this moron. I know a pilot that is quite far from living on food stamps. Everybody wants to take from the "rich", except when they are classified as rich. Go figure? And they have these attitudes as if they are righteous and ethical. It is just dressing up stealing.

  • Do you know how to be unbiased? No. Does any human being who has ever lived? Probably not.

  • What is capitalism if not dressed up stealing.

  • i think capitaisim is fine as long as the "fine print" becomes less fine and more readable and clear. also, businesses should not have an ounce of power in the government. which means, the government should operate on non profit. duh.

  • Comment removed

  • You're using capitalism as you speak you moron!

  • Yay, capitalism!! I'm not the top 10% so capitalism isn't going my way right now.

  • The economy and the money supply grows as a result of credit and is not based or backed on any valuable resources. The increasing credit bubble is made up of fake money.

  • SO they increase the money supply? Doesn't help those at the bottom.

  • actually it fucks everyone up by causing inflation .

  • VIVA LA REVOLIUCIA !

  • The guy who made this video says that things were better before when things were MORE capitalistic, not less! Then he goes on to bash "capitalism". What a moron!

  • Terrific review

  • Dude, where can i see this online? I really want to see this movie but i don't have the money (evil capitalist system ate it all)

  • try typing the name of the movie and add «torrent», in google or so...

    then torrent it.

i tried in mininova yesterday, couldn't find it, though...

if u don't know how to torrent, i'll teach u.

  • oo really you'll teach me? thanks! cuz idk wut it means to torrent...

soo how do i do it? and is it safe?

  • check ur inbox.

  • This is a terrible video. Neither the speaker, nor Michael Moore seem to have any comprehension of what Capitalism is. You are talking about the phony Capitalism that exists here, Corporatism. These Socialist ideas that both of you are advocating will do nothing to benefit society. Karl Marx's ideas are great in a perfect world, but we don't live in a perfect world. Everyone, even Moore, acts in their own best interest, and looks for incentives. And there is nothing immoral about it.

  • It's kind of ironic how you promote corporativism as a solution to corporatism.

A small amount of people in control of the worlds resources is not democratic. For power is influence over resources and power should be equal in a democratic society. Wether its government, corporations or both it is still a few men in charge. Even if the world never can be perfect, there's nothing to lose in aiming for perfection and reaching at least something better.

  • Moore was VERY anti socialism. If you saw the movie you'd know that.

  • @unopeneddoor I watched the movie. The guy loves socialism. In the movie he intends on bashing capitalism, but he fails to realize it isn't capitalism that he is bashing. Moore is very open about his love for socialism, if you listened to what he says you'd know that.

  • Excellent commentary. The cold war wasn't about the possibility of dictatorial Communism taking over the world. The fear was in the agenda of the power elite, that workers might actually ask for their fair share. Do you think the average person would have worried about Communism if they hadn't been propagandized by the Oligarchy. Hell, Americans were voting Socialist by the millions in the 30's The Hearst papers had to slander them rigged news reels

  • The title is wrong and Moore admits it! It should be called Corporatism: A Love Story, Cronyism: A Love Story. Moore gets it right that Wall St. made out and everybody got screwed. He also got it right that Wall St. is running Washington and has been running it since the 1850's. This is not Capitalism, this is not a free market, they were lax in regulations and more importantly the Constitution. It all comes down to the Federal Reserve Bank. End it, and go back to sound money & their game ends.

  • I lol when someone says we need progressive taxes.

The top 10% (in terms of welth) pay 30% of our taxes. The top 50% pay 97% of our taxes. Our tax system IS progressive and you will be dammed before fidning the top 50% of french earners paying 97% of theyre taxes.

  • Greed is a sin, the wealthy are cursed...

I don't like greed. That's inexcusable--but capitalism is not an evil. Making a profit is good, it enables people to become wealthy and afford the best of life.

The rich got what they have because they earned it somehow. Perhaps they stole--perhaps they simply pursued money more than the other guy.

I am willing to wager that the people who love this film most work check-to-check and know nothing about investments.

  • A lot of people who thought they knew about investments had most of it wiped out in the latest crash. Plus, financial advisers and experts kept saying that we should invest for the long term and not to sell, while they were dumping their stock. And a large percentage of wealth is made through inheritance, interest, and speculation, not smarts and hard work. And a lot of money is made through screwing people who don't deserve it.

  • jsjkim, Unfortunetly, you like my liberal friends could be hit in the head with the truth, but still deny it. It is pointless fo rme to try to convince you what caused the crisis. Look at "who caused the financial crisis" an others on youtube. I know it will not help you because you already have your mind made up. You could also buy "Arguing with Idiots" but you won't read it.

  • 0People who work check to check CAN'T invest.

  • I think Moore was using the extreme to prove a point. He wants you to be mad. He couldn't do that by not going to the extreme.

  • Objective, intelligent and eloquent review. Thanks you!

  • Great review as always

  • But the film isn't about capitalism! It's about GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE IN THE FREE MARKET. The exact opposite of Capitalism. I am an Anarcho-Capitalist and I just think it's kind of silly that he had his terms mixed up pretty blatently. But I agree! Down with Wall Street! Down with bailouts! Down with government interference! It's just kinda sad that he used Capitalism instead of Mixed Economy: A love story or Democracy: A love story. ha ha

  • The current crisis wasn't caused by the govt being TOO involved, but not involved enough. That's why banks and lenders were able to give mortgages to people who couldn't pay them, then use those mortgages to make bets they couldn't pay off if they lost. It's also how health insurance companies have been able to kill people by denying care while raising premiums. If you don't like govt involvement in industry, you must not also like clean air, water, seatbelts, and food that won't poison you.

  • jsjkim, you are actually making some sense here. Let me put my political view on the table before it is questioned. I am far right conservative. I hate Gov control, but there was a problem with no Gov control on the housing industry. Who caused this you may ask? In 2003 Bush, yes Bush tried to get more regulation. Shortly later so did McCain. But "the right to own a home" was too important and Dems shot down regulation. But, this is a global recession, not just in US. Housing was not the cause.

  • About health insurance companies and so on. Honesty, I don't have all day, but you are wrong about America's healthcare system. Maybe another day I can get into you about that. I work in healthcare, I know a lot of the problem. It is not the fact healthcare is expensive, but why it is expensive. About clean air etc. We inport most of our food. What is your point on the US having safe food? What have these regulations helped? It increased the price of food and transportation, that is it.

  • Because if you let the "free market" decide everything, they'll opt for more profit over clean air, clean environment, and safe food every time. Remember the lead paint in Wal Mart toys? That was because it was cheaper. The free market always wants more profit, regardless of the cost. And you can't convince me that repubs wanted stronger regulation of the housing market. It's a cornerstone of repub philosophy to do away with ALL regulations so the free market can work its magic.

  • Now as for your "paint" senario. Perfect example of what I said before. WE IMPORTED those toys from CHINA! What part of that don't you understand? That is the same with our food. We regulate what we MAKE and GROW in the US, but other countries do not follow our regulations. Companies are looking for a good income to dept ratio, just like all of us should do. Why blame the company for buying something they did not know was tanted. You act as if they did that on purpose. BTW, lead paint cost more.

  • About free market aways wanting more profit, regardless of cost. You are wrong, GREED wants more profit regardless of cost. That is the problem of today. GREED. But who is the greedy? The GOV! Regardless of party! I don't vote Rep or Dem. I vote by who is the best person for the job. & no, a msot wealth is not through inheritance, etc. Most is through hard work and incentive. Take away incentive, like the GOV is trying to do, and you take away the will to work. Then the US will be like Detroit.

  • Right, because someone who works two minimum wage jobs while raising a family clearly isn't working hard. And someone who makes $30 million a year CLEARLY works 1000 times harder than someone who makes $30,000. And it's companies and repubs who always call for less regulation. Heard of Milton Friedman and Alan Greenspan? But don't bother answering. I'm a lost cause. You can always tell who has the best argument by who insults more. Greed has nothing to do with capitalism. Brilliant.

  • You make me laugh. That's one thing I like about you. I don't get your point about someone working 2 min wage jobs.

    1) Why do they have min wage jobs? Did they get knocked up in the 10 grade and didn't graduate? Do they have drug issues? Are they bi-polar or anti-social?

See, the lack of intelligence as a young adult can haunt you forever. Just because you work "hard" doesn't mean you work smart. The fact is, your points are weak. The more you debate, the weaker you become.

  • You make me laugh. I couldn't disagree more. Sure there are plenty of people who aren't educated and don't have good jobs, but when a college educated airline pilot with over $100,000 in college loan debt makes almost less then minimum wage for a job that most people couldn't handle that is a problem. Maybe you should see the movie before running to your conservative news pundits to reinforce your obvious views and don't try accusing me of being some sort of MSNBC lib

  • I'm glad that I can make you laugh. I try my best. Have you ever heard of supply and demand? Whould you want to sell real estate last year? No! Just because you CHOOSE to pick a career that is not in demand at one time or another does not mean capitalism has failed. Maybe you should understand what you are fighting about, before you type. Also, watch Mike M. on the Jimmy Kimmel show. Tell me M.M was not being capitalistic about "writing" Ugo Chaves' speech. Fact is, he is capitalistic too.

  • Well airline pilots are in demand by airlines which are unprofitable because they refuse to shrink their companies since people who already don't like to fly wouls be even more tightly squeezed into airplanes then they are now. People don't like rude service (I'm talking to you Delta) and run down airports and hours of waiting. About Michael Moore as a person. I would suggest seeing the movie. I think the title should be chrony capitalism instead of capitalism because that's what he really means

  • @jsjkim

Greed really doesn't have anything to do with capitalism. SnyperMD does have a slight point. Capitalism, in it's foundation is a good system, but it needs to be tweaked and have the holes patched up to the point where GREEDY ppl can't take advantage while screwing everyone else over.

  • @SnyperMD you fail

  • @islamiscrap8888 Seriously! You comment on something from 7 months ago? And you say I "fail?"

How's that "Hopie" "Changie" thing working for you now?

  • @SnyperMD "How's that "Hopie" "Changie" thing working for you now?" what ?

  • Indeed. Why change an entire business process when there's simply a penalty fee to pay.

  • Democracy FIRST! Then let the PEOPLE decide the level of capitalism and "legislated social safeguards". Second, Corporations must be made illegal. Third: banish the electoral college, 1 person 1 vote! Wow, would things change for the better!

  • actually, those aren't even capitalistic policies. when it first started, it wasn't like this. now, i wasn't around at that time, but from what i see, it was a lot different. 123456789 stars!

  • i used to like his movies...but upon research i realized alot of Morr's facts are inaccurate and just bias.

  • Don't you think that's a good thing. I think the fact that took the time to research what he says in his movie is a plus. He does a great service especially if people get up and research.

  • Whats funny is that you guys are all right: 1. yes capitalism per se is not a bad system (in theory) but what happens in practice is that the rules of a hypothetical "fair play" with symmetric information are changed by a few huge players in their favor. The problem is that there's no limit to size and hence concentration of power by big companies gets out of control. They big guys can twist gov. decisions way too much in their favor. Progressive taxes are a poor correction to this mayor flaw

  • loved this movie

  • Maybe you should do some more homework. We do have a progressive tax, and it is one of the largest in the world. The top 1% pay about 60% of the tax in this country, while the lowest 40% pays less then 0%. You, like M.M do not know your facts. Do some more research, and find the truth.

  • It is true that the Rich people pay more then the rest. Why wouldn't they? They control the state and the state does everything for their benefit, in fact the entire purpose of our modern executive is to benefit those rich people, so why wouldn't they invest in it =/

  • SnyperMD you should realize that the top 1% also stole that money from working class citizens. The tax money should be reinvested and redistributed for the good of the people. Not such that the wealthy receive government bailouts for screwing up the country!

  • #1. I checked my facts and I was incorrect about the amout the top 1% pay in taxes. It is around 40%. Regardless, Kushmotif, your seriously have no idea what you are talking about. You are trying to argue something that is proven to be wrong. Who screwed the country? LIBERALS! Community reinvestment, wars on poverty, affermative action, over taxation on business owners, forced unnecessary regulations, clean air acts, Medicaid/care, and Social security. Ofcourse, you won't look up facts. SHEEP!

  • i seriously don't want to get into this. its not really doing any good by explaining this. but, profiting off peoples misfortunes is horrible. capitalism allows this, and something needs to be done. i don't know why your calling other people sheep, when you do the same exact thing, just for the wrong reasons.

  • If you don't want to get into this, then why bother. Profitting off of peoples stupidity is one thing, and profitting off of thier greed is another. Capitalism is a machine that allows good innovation to strive and the weak to fail. Having a Gov that forces banks to sell mortgages to people unable to afford them and a Gov that bails out the weak for thier own political necessity is not capitalisms fault regardless if they gained from it. Learn your facts, then "get into it."

  • Capitalism strives as long as the people who are profiting from it remain ethical. For example a CEO makes a profit from his business instead of taking the profits and expanding the business and adding more jobs they invest the money in the stock markets and expand their businesses in foreign places where they can exploit cheap labor. Capitalism works as long as the people using it have the benefit of other capitalists in mind and not only theirselves. Unfortunately a rarity these days.

  • I do not disagree with you. Governmental envolvement doesn't help either.

  • Agreed

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, you must be rich!

Too bad you don't care about anyone but yourself.

  • What are you talking about? You got all of that out of what I have been typing? Your good! It would be nice to have a world filled with puppies and butterflies, but we don't. Fact is proper capitalism without Gov envolvement works better than any other plan. You earn what you work for. You don't work, you don't earn. Simple! Me rich? Even if I was, I'd spend it all on paintball and triathlon gear. Is that bad? To you, YES! To the guy at the store, NO!

  • There was a time people became physicians because they wanted to help people, not to become a medical corporation.

  • SnyperMD. No one said capitalism is bad, but when it is corrupted when members of Congress can be bought by Health Insurance companies there is something totally wrong. Government is being bought by these elite, they CONTROL how congress is run. The fact is there is so much Government involvement and you are blinded by this.

  • Thats great you checked your facts. But IF You have the top 1% earning more than the bottom 95% there is something wrong with the country. Did you know the 2 trillion dollar bailout could have been $30,000 to each person in America? Did you know the reason we are in this crisis is because of the negligence and greed caused by the top 1%? All the things you've mentioned about poverty, clean air, single payer are things the rest of the world are using.

  • There is not just "something" wrong in the US. It is worldwide.

  • For some reason, I don't think you have much of a clue "Kushmotif." For one, the top 1% changes. It is not always the same people. So claiming it is thier greed is far fetched. You say 1% making more than 95% is wrong. Why? If they are actually producing a needed item and profiting from it, why is it wrong? Why don't you look at how many people are employed because of the top 1%. If you knock down them, you knock down their employees. OOH! Never thought of that did you?

  • WRONG! It's the same people OR their heirs! And no one is "making" anything anymore, it's all a financial shell game.

  • mmflint, Do you have a clue what you are talking about? It really does not appear you do. Maybe you should do some homework instead of being spoon fed by the liberal media, or did your teacher or dad tell you how it is? Clueless people like you are the reason this country is in the mess it is in. Stop learning WHAT to think, and learn HOW to think.

  • Because the 1% is not enough to look after the rest of the country, not enough of the wealthy are looking after the interest of the rest of America. They grow with OUR MONEY and they spend ON THEIR OWN INTERESTS. Nothing wrong with profiting from your own work. But You wonder why small businesses are dissappearing by the minute while more and more walmarts, walgreens, large chain stores are dominating the market???

  • We are becoming slaves to corporations while fewer and fewer people are getting wealthy. Do you know we all WILL STILL HAVE JOBS with or without the 1%??? The middle class is now gone because the 1% is monopolizing many things. You don't see a problem with this? Answer this SnyperMD - what happened to our middle class?

  • About the middle class. We are still there, but we have the brunt of the weight. Why, because we can afford to buy things on credit but do not know how to tie our purse strings. We have the "poor" if you want to call them that who get all the Gov bennies but do not contribute. Do I see a problem? Yes! My beef is with the lazy slackers that choose not to work, but kick out babies and collect housing, food, and income on the middle class. Who is more of a drain on the system. Answer that?

  • Kushmotif, I notice on common ground with us. The fact that the Government can be bought off with elite money is the problem. Special interest groups and earmarks are a large problem. I don't think you have to only look at the to 1% for that. About the Fed Reserve. How much does that actually have? Fact is, no body knows. Why is it there, and why are they protecting an inspection of it?

  • About your "bailout" and giving $30,000 to each person in America. 2 things with that. 1) Why didn't the government use that money to pay off dept? In fact, what did the Gov do with the money. Do you even know, that we are paying for that "2 trillion." BTW. It's more than that. But no! The Gov BORROWED that $. Now we are paying for it WITH INTEREST. 2) Why give it to people who don't know how to pay thier bills. ie. each person?

  • YES WE are paying for that but the 1% is getting that money and they won't even tell us HOW their using that money. Check out Alan Grayson's hearing with the Federal Reserve, its ridiculous how corrupted this system is. Some of this money has been borrowed to foreign countries like New Zealand. Why are we lending 9Billion to a country thousands of miles away?

  • Now about the "greed caused by the top 1%." Do you honestly have a clue what you are talking about? So we let these banks and motor companies be bailed out because of greed? NO! We let them FAIL when they get greedy and can't pay thier bills because of greed. Poverty, clean air, single payer is not a good example either. Where did you get that idea? Look around buddy. Open your eyes. America has the best living conditions. Honestly, you don't have a clue.

  • US is as much a capitalistic country as the Soviet Union was a communist one... not even close...

  • This isn't a review... this is summary of the movie...

  • americans only wish they were as advanced and smart as france.

france has the best healthcare system in the world, a lower unemployment rate, and a more technologically advanced.

  • I just saw the documentary yesterday. It is timely and highly recommended. Your review is balanced and on the money.

  • great review man.

  • Just saw the film and HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

  • ALL, I repeat, ALL of the problems that Moore points out in the film can be traced back to government, and it's power to legislate in favor of things which are immoral, because we do not have objectively defined limits for government's power, but rather a democracy where any law is fine as long as people vote for it

It is objectively immoral to have an insurance policy taken out on a life of a person who doesn't know about it any kid can tell you that, but the government allowed it

    basic fraud

  • U are wrong. I mean I don't disagree, but u don't blame the gun salesman when someone gets shot. He can be PARTIALLY blamed, but lets not forget who the REAL bad guys are. And I completely agree with u in that a Government that allows legislations like this to pass is wrong, the answer is obviously NOT to pass such laws, but to keep regulating and maintaining a strict leash on Corporate entities.

  • There has never been a free market in America

The kind of mixed economy you're advocating is exactly what's killing us. Not the lack or regulations, but the fact that the government has regulatory power which transends objectively defined morals, and is therefore for sale to the highest bidder

  • Exactly, Government regulation needs to be done for the right reasons, and enforced properly.

  • 2:20

    Pack of lies

Oh, so the free market failed?

    What free market?

  • Interesting. I would also recommend: "Zeitgeist" Great Eye-opener on how money is created out of debt and inflation, default is built within the system

  • Great review Jon and I could not agree with you more. Can't wait to see the movie.

  • great review just slow down when you talk buddy. going to watch it first chance i get thanks for the review :)

  • trickle down.....more like being pissed on

  • a revolution is what we need

  • Amen!

  • Nice review, thanks ... time to get fired up
