  • is it over?

  • Skullmaster: You can't save the world!

    Max: I CAN DIE TRYING!

    Skullmaster: YOU WILL!

Man, this is THE most epic children's cartoon of all time.

  • The voice of skull master is also the voice of pretorious and max's voice is also stanley ipkiss/ the mask from the mask cartoon

  • lol @ Skullmaster @ 7:27!!!

  • i feel like im going to cry. i would love another season! i like how the cap morphs into whatever the cap bearer percieves it to be. it makes mote since. and now max has a chancebto save his friends and end skullmaster from the start which means he might not fail school as i imagined he missed serveral days!

  • The cap is really a crown??? ...Oh boy, now I've seen everything.

  • I do think it suggests a loop of sorts though. perhaps not endless, but a number of them for sure.

  • @College Joe: The ending doesn't suggest an endless loop. Max gets to start over again and this time he has foreknowledge of events.

  • god I loved that show, does Virgil sound to anyone like the voice in the intro to discworld cartoons? or is it just me?

  • You Fool!you cant save the world!I can die trying!

that was intense!!awesome cartoon!I wish we could of seen Max re live his destiny knowing when he restarted,he would know what hed have to do in order to win next time!we grew up to this cartoon!seeing it now makes me wish theyd remake it!Thumbs up!!way up!

  • @poopsyko It doesn't have way up, I gave a regular up ;)

  • awsome i use to love this when i was a kid had most of the toys too thanks for up load iam in nostalgia ville

  • So max just restarted time great. Maybe he will skull master this time.

  • Comment removed

  • 8:01 "you fool!" to "you will!" was too intense for a cartoon. should be a dialogue in a live action movie

  • ...??? So that was it?! after years from my childhood wondering what happened at the end this was it? It just starts over again? Sigh..anyway good show

  • Dude gotta love the spirit he put into that "I can die trying!" line at 8:06

  • @Lobster222 Seriously! That was some damn good voice acting.

  • Before school routine in the 90s:

    Wash Up

Make a toaster strudel, or pop tart, whichever was available

    Watch Mighty Max

Run to school before I made it late.

Those were the good ol days

  • and now compare this carton with spongebob. this is funny and intresting and that is retard. maybe i'am wrong but cartons now and when i was young kid are unbelivable diffrent. now i have almost 24 years and nostalgic hit me to watch this cartoon which is still awesome, and yes i did enjoy.

yes i know my english suck xD

  • *Applaudes* Fucking beautiful, nostalgia from Hell and an old past finally revealed. Being born in the 80s I had often watched this every morning before school in the early 90s, best goddamn animated series ever, hands down. Nothing even compares, from beggining to end all is excellent, well done comrade for uploading these. Now I can only hope for a DVD release or something, I had recorded these episodes on VHS but the cassettes do not work anymore. V_V

  • the music for this episode, pandoras box, the magnificent seven, and the axeman cometh were my favorites... i just wish they had a soundtrack for it. this is my favorite cartoon of all time.

  • only show that compares to this is doctor who....hmmm, maybe he'll start wearing a cap soon...

  • I do miss this show. It was an awesome way to spend the morning before school.

  • The ending reminded me of Back to the future lol.

  • I just spent the last day and a half watching all of them and now feel bereft that there aren't any more to watch :-(

  • "I'm the Mighty One! Or haven't you heard?"

  • The surprisingly joyful ending had me standing up and cheering, even though I cried my eyes out the first time I saw it. It's beautiful and perfectly fitting for the series.

    MIGHTY MAX FOREVER!!!

  • "...and this time, don't take quite so long!" Haha, Virgin maintains his classic snark no matter what, doesn't he?

  • mighty max forever!

  • If only soccer moms and political correctness weren't in control of tv these days MAYBE cartoons could be this good! Mighty max is easily the best American cartoon to ever be put on the air. The best plot development, stories, and portrayal of evil. You actually see what evil's all about! "Here's your reward for your service, warmonger..". It made young kids think "Well thats a terrible idea to be one of the bad guys!" idk. I can't stand modern cartoons.

Cheers to the folks responsible for MM!

  • man what a cartoon simply one of the best ill never forget!!

  • Now that I saw the ending again, I do remember it being a weird one

  • It's so sick that it had an ending. Very rare for a 90's morning cartoon series.

  • This finalé, which I've watched several times now, always brings me to tears of both sadness and joy. MM is a shining gem of just how good children's animation can be when it's not beleaguered by political correctness and is allowed intelligent plot development. MM stands alone in its unflinching portrayal of evil, and the episode The Axeman Cometh always stuck with me from childhood in its emphasis on the reality of violence and death. A standing ovation for all involved in MM is well deserved.

  • @Tormujin well said, this was a great part of my life

  • @Tormujin Right? The characters were cool, storylines intelligent, jokes actually funny and fitting,...man....just a perfectly good solid cartoon....one of the very few.

  • what a strange ending

  • *standing ovation* cheers to Arsenal1508 for uploading all of these episodes! takes me back to the 90s.

think i enjoyed them more this time round tho! love the way that people can die in this cartoon and that the hero technically doesn't win! Cartoons aren't allowed to do that anymore

a weird side note: who the fuck is that green warmonger in skull mountain...seems a bit tagged on. don't think i'll ever get that.

  • Oh man I still get chills from this ending. Back in those days cartoons never really had a finale since they were to sell toys or have an episodic format that could be aired in any order.

This ending is great. Its not an outright victory, instead, Max has finally learned his true power and can use this power and his knowledge of the future to try and save the world again.

  • well, since the show got canceled i guess its kinda forced ending, but yet a good one. its all part of the prophecy! im soo happy normi didnt die!!i just wish he was real, id marry him:).... i think what makes this such a masterpiece is that i can still watch the whole show as a grown-up and be totally hooked. i cant say this about any other 90's shows(or anything really) even though they were all way better then todays crap.but this one had it all, really, it was perfect ,best show ever.*snif*

  • The part from emerging of the Lava mountain till Skullmaster's defeat always gives me the creeps. And the music is so epic! I can't believe that a cartoon so incredibly good got canceled. Despite many popular and awarded cartoons Mighty Max will always be my favorite one because it's the one I grew up with and learned a lot from unlike the crap they give today's kids. The finale is perfect: unconventional, just as the show was and it's a way of showing that MM will always live.

  • It is not working

  • lttle bit of a weird ending

  • arg, why does every1 want a movie? Don't we all know that when they make movies out of something (books, tv shows, etc), it only ruins its reputation? especially for sequels...... Instead, they should have just made more seasons.

and gordonbressack, are you....aN oRiGinAL WRiTeR ??? Dude, we need DVDs with commentary! I wanna know the behind the scenes of MM!!!

  • Skullmaster is pure evil. Not only does he kill Virgil after promising to let him go unharmed, but he even kills his own loyal servant Warmonger when he promised him a reward for helping him. Great voice work from Tim Curry.

  • another reason why the 90's had the best cartoons ever made!..nuff said

  • Haha! the Lizard knows how to use a Globe! LMBO

  • Hahaha you can tell that Lava Monster is voiced by Frank Welker. Sounds so much like Megatron....!!

  • Crap, I wish I could make my own logo appear out of nowhere.

  • I think it was a good ending better merely described than explained. Max recieved one of the greatest rewards, a second chance, that is the stuff of significance, utterly intangible.

    Hail the Mighty One!

  • The thunder at 5:30 gives me chills...

  • @hipposhaped What always sticks out to me is the complete lack of music otherwise, and all you hear are Max's footsteps as he tries to run towards Skullmaster. That was heartbreaking.

  • Ah, back when America actually had quality animation.

  • wow....Was Skull Master THAT powerful that this was the only way to make sure he didn't conquer the world?! Oh why oh why did they do this? I'm just dying for a proper ending!

  • not a really end but a good one :)

  • I never noticed before Lava Lord's voice is done by the same person that did Megatron's voice

  • OMG I WAS GLUED TO THE T.V SET ON THE END when i saw this as a kid... the drums, mighty max guitar theme, everything spinning!!!! JUST PURE AWESOMENESS!!!!

  • Just think about this. When they had the toy, it looked shitty, but the cartoon was the shit.

  • Great ending!!! Kids these days have no idea how good cartoons used to be!!

  • i missed the re-run of this when i was a kid i was watching it before i went to school but i had to go... im glad i finally saw it.

  • VEDIEO UNABLE TO be view content restistions put on by vedeo owner. .... so i cant watch it?? im using my mobile to view all the rest but i cant on this one??

  • 2012 back to the beginning ?

  • This was my favorite cartoon growing up. I absolutely loved it, and there haven't been a lot of cartoons that have even come close to being as awesome as Mighty Max. I wish there could've been more episodes, but I'm still happy with the ending.

  • Great show!! Still a huge fan!

  • That's true there should really be a live action movie of this show.

  • How have they not made a movie of this yet?! It has such great potential.

  • Thanks to all the fans that have commented on this series finale. I enjoy the fact that there is much disagreement about it. It was meant to be controversial.. As for the reason for the ending: we were told the series was not being picked up and I felt that it deserved an unusual ending that would incite the fans to wonder where it might go from here. Much better than just having no end to the story. Hope you enjoyed it, or at least enjoyed hating it.

  • Personally, I don't think the ending incites the series to loop. Max is more mature than when he first started, so it seems to me like he'll 'get it right' this time, or keep growing from each run through until he does. Seems conclusive enough without being explicit.

  • @gordonbressack A HUGE THANK YOU Goes out to everyone involved with the Mighty Max cartoon show-- All the writers, all the voiceover actors, all the animators & artists. I grew up watching this show every day after school (when it was in syndication) and loved this show back then. I am still impressed when re-watching the show now (I am going to be 29 next month). In my heart, the show will always be top notch & its a shame its not been officially released on DVD.

  • @gordonbressack All that and the best and most memorable thing about the ending is that, THE BAD GUY WON! NO other series has ever done that. That puts this show above so many others. The good guy needed to "retcon" things to save himself and everyone else. Skullmaster is THE villain of villains.

  • @TerryB01, Reboot (another ground-breaking show of its time) did something similar, although unlike Mighty Max it suffered the unfortunancy of an actual cancellation before they could do anything else. The bad guy, Megabyte (I believe he, Tony Jay, voiced either Skullmaster or Virgil, possibly both) sort of wins, in that he takes over the good guy's home base and threatens them ominously, but over all these years since that episode there's been no idea what his plans were. Long live... MEGABYTE.

  • @Momentum139 I never saw the final episode, but it sounds like a great ending. I'm going to look for it. What;s the name of that episode?

  • @gordonbressack There's really no need to thank! As someone who was born in the 90's, I enjoy watching and discussing cartoons like Mighty Max. It's sucks that very few cartoons these days match up to that caliber. In fact, because of that, I've become an anime fan, not one of those 'OMFG' fans, but an 'I watch because I enjoy them' fan. Ever since FOX, WB Kids and Cartoon Network dumbed themselves down for whatever reason, I turned to YouTube for my old cartoon and anime fix. Good times. ^_^

  • @gordonbressack if you had anything to do with the creation and propagation of this show, then I salute you. When I was younger I used to adore Mighty Max, although a lot of my peers, and a lot of people younger than me just didn’t appreciate it the way I did. The glorification of the intellect is superb. I think this cartoon was one of the reasons I became the person I have. So thanks. I owe you a lot. I really hope you read this because it’s not often you get to thank the people who made you

  • @gordonbressack, you'll have to forgive my obnoxiousness, its just so unusual to witness an animation director/team member discussing their series on Youtube... it feels/sounds fake.

  • @Momentum139 I am real! At least I think I am. Somebody pinch me!

  • @gordonbressack, nonetheless, my brother (who grew up watching this series) just spent the last 2+ weeks showing it to me and my face literally went o_o when I saw Max return to the past. I figured that the time bit would allow him to save Vergil and Norman, but DAMN... I can't imagine how he could stand seeing this episode end the way it did on television, not ever being told that it was the final episode except for when it came on next time the first episode was aired right after it.

  • @gordonbressack Now that I've watched the ending as an adult I'm really happy about the ending. I guess as a kid I thought he was stuck in a paradox. But now that I understand it better I'm really happy about it.

  • @gordonbressack And may I add as a little girl I enjoyed this series so much and used to play mighty max with my polly pockets. I think it was one of the few boy cartoons I loved during those years. I will show it to my children and pass along the great show you helped create.

  • @gordonbressack I was a HUGE fan of the series and toys. I felt wronged by this show after investing so much time with it. It's one thing if the enemy was a goofy character, but the bad guy was a real dick. And I'm sure I can speak for every fan that we wanted justice for Virgil and Norman's death. This was a very emotional finale and watching it infuriates me that we have an 'infinite' story without a real end.

  • When Max said, "I can die trying!" that really made me think--they don't say things like that anymore! This cartoon was probably the BEST animated adventure series I've ever had the pleasure of viewing (3rd time watching it all the way through XD) and even though it ended in a way that leaves us wanting more when we know we can't have it, it leaves room for our imaginations to pick up where the show left off! LONG LIVE THE MIGHTY ONE!

  • @HowlingMonki I agree this is my 3rd time watching it too maybe more and if you like this show like i do you keep thinking of good and awesome new ending for it after this episode

  • Comment removed

  • @HowlingMonki But seriously....I would rather them made another couple seasons. This cartoon was just so damn flawless in every way.

  • @HowlingMonki Though, a few of the episodes had some hinky writing.

  • the last episode finallly and thanx

  • max isn't one to talk, he doublecrossed skullmaster before when they had a deal for him to spare virgil so he'd get the cap..

  • i had all the toys to this show like i worshipped it when i was little shame you cant get GOOD shows like this now a days its all shit and robots bring back the GOOD cartoons also does anyone remember cadilac and dinosaurs?

  • only the game. I didin't like it much.

  • I had the poly-pocket mighty max toys. :0D

  • @Frex656 me too!!!

  • I really hate these kind of series endings

  • The way I see it, Virgil knew of this the whole time. Only the first time, Max did not read the whole inscription before he dropped the statue. Therefore there were two interwoven prophecies.

  • so i don't get it why does max go back to the beginning now that he's the master of time/supreme power of the universe? I guess this time around he's just redoing his adventures for fun?

  • ok well i just read wiki and realized MM doesn't gain the supreme power but just reverses time. If I were him, I would def take it next time around (steal crystal of souls and arrive for the great Trilothon).

  • he dipped the hat in lava and it didnt burn?

  • @Joethegiantkilla The hat can't be destroyed but you would think what ever lava was left in the hat would of burned him

  • This is a good series.

  • They should make a new series using portals that also control time. Creating paradoxes and changing history.

  • i loved the way this ended it was perfect

  • they should another series where max is older and a more experienced fighter

  • I think they were probably planning for a 3rd season (which never happened), hence the less than satisfying ending.

  • Disappointing ending... it didn't end :-|

  • I love Tim Curry. He makes such a good bad guy!

  • NO WONDER they allowed so much death in this show..in the end no body actually died...

  • I would love a live action movie of Mighty Max...if it's done right

  • Hey is that Frank Welker from Transformers as a voice actor?

  • Yeah

  • I loved this series so much i named my kid max after it, lol, what episode number is the one where max meets the himself as the older cap bearer?

  • This ending reminds me of a game called Marathon Infinity where time traveling throws continuity out the window but makes a deep, contemplative story.

  • phhhhh, awesome ending to an awesome series, now i realize that i've only seen until episode 39 when i was a kid and i thought that was the ending and i liked it a lot, but even like this is still good. thanks a lot :D

  • why did they only do 40 espiodes??

  • actually they did an infinite number since it just rewinds back to ep 1 after the series finale

  • Hah, so Max basically lost but got a chance to redo everything armed with the knowledge of events. Always wondered how this story wrapped up, thanks so much for sharing.

  • oh how this show brings back pre-pubesant memories.

  • the only episode you didnt upload was the one where maxs mom gets the ring in the mail and it leads her to egypt where it supposed to cut her hand off but instead max finds a way to thwart it

  • damn, bring back memory to when i was 9 years old.

damn, back then i love mighty max a lot.

  • This was my fav show when I was a kid & i'm now 20, so thanks Arsenal1508

  • Same here.

  • "Lava sounds like Megatron; must be the same voice actor".

  • It is. His name is Frank Welker and he also voiced Warmonger in Mighty Max, as well as Fred Jones in Scooby Doo and Abu in Aladdin.

  • Oh, BTW forgot to mention that Frank Welker was also the voice of Lava Lord as well. Three voice roles on the same Show. Frank Welker's one awesome and epic Voice Actor!

  • I have mixed feelings about a live action movie... I lean towards "no".

  • thanks for uploading all the mighty max episodes it was great to see them again after all these years

  • yeah normy is back, i wonder what he eat next for breakfast, nice to hear him alive again

  • And the cycle begins anew! Basically, in the end, no one dies, but rather, the story starts all over again, which would suck if it didn't.

  • That was a crumy ending if you ask me.

  • and so ends my 3days solid of watchin mighty max :( kinda sad now lol

  • lol you did that to?

  • Same here

  • At last I have seen the whole story that is Mighty Max. I don't know how to feel, it is a mixture of joy and the obvious sadness that is required when one's favorite show ends...I also don't know how to feel about the end, as now I wish I knew what Max did diffrently! Hm...perhaps if I do become an animator that might be something to think about. MIGHTY MAX FOREVER!

  • well if we were born for the 60s itd been all about global cooling, dont worry about the world its all fine. people are just scared :)

  • Tim Curry makes for such a phenomenal villain.

  • They killed Norman AND Virgil! WOW! That's pretty daring for a children's cartoon!

  • thx for uploading this lol i got to relive some childhood memories of before school cartoons

  • The end of a saga. Like all good things.

  • Just picture new episodes with Norman in Japan fighting Tengus, in Australia involving Uluru and Dreamtime, killer sharks like the toy line, how Skullmaster first acquired the Crystal of Souls (entrusted to him to keep it safe from a rogue female Lemurian), the trio traveling in time to meet their future selves, Skullmaster and Warmonger helping Max during a two-parter against a larger threat, plus the returns of Freako, Robert Scorpio, Lao Shu, the Conqueror... Plenty of ideas to work with.

  • true very true. I just wished people that made MM seen this same potential in the series, even though it did end badass and had enough ahows (unlike Swat Kats and Mighty Ducks which had only 23 and 26 respectively)

  • The best way to go from here would've been to make the cap able to transport Max not only in space, but now also in time... Which would make him the target for a new female main villain, as well as Skullmaster, Warmonger, Lava Lord and Talon all acting independently in a feud of world domination. I'd call this storyline Kings of Tomorrow.

  • Dude lol, Maybe you and me should write it! you got the right ideas to get it started. I myself am a huge lover of 2d animation (CGI has taken over in a ways) and I wanna see great shows like this return, esp. since its so underrated. And I'm serious, I'm returning to college for this type of stuff, so all we need are some artists, the rights or permission, and badass writers (which I am) and we could create the comic for starters. all it takes is unity. Tell me what'cha think.

  • I'm all for it.

  • Sorry for that "acebooncoon" ID I was on anotha computer, this my real ID. I'm glad you're down for it dude, cuz I been thinking about this and we can make it happen, so send me a direct e-mail address so I can always keep in contact, cuz I see the potential in ya ideas, even while others don't even see it. I'll probably start writing on it myself after I finish a couple of my own. Like I said I'm dead serious man, so I'll explain more once you send it, so I'm not limited word-wise. til then.

  • hey just bin readin ur comments n im in uni duin animation and i also am a loer of traditional 2d animation n love mighty max n shows like it n ur both right we do need to bring shows like this bk so if u need any help let me no im serious ^^

  • my god i love this show a watched near half of them in one sitting good to be born in the 80's and grow up a 90's child

  • Don't you know it!! 80s kids kick azz! Man! dude wouldn't have sucked to be born now??! Lmao, whoa man, right when F'in global warmings kickin in!

  • This was a 90's cartoon, though. :P Early 90's.

But yes, the kids these days only have stupid cartoons.

  • that rock creature in the begining sounded like megatron

  • The guy who played him was Frank Welker, who also player Megatron in Transformers.

  • Warmonger should've SO seen that end coming after his failed betrayel.

  • this wasn't the last episode. i remember the last episode and this wasn't it. in the last episode max grows up and really fullfills his destiny.

  • Endings good because it leaves the rest up to you. You have become the mighty one and can create your own destiny for the characters. I added my own characters and i saved the old characters. Thats the way i look at it anyway :D . ps i was like three when i did that.

  • thanks arsenal, you've made more than 20k people happy

  • you rock out loud for uploading these man, nostalgics unite!

  • thank you so much for these uploads! total blast from the past and i thoroughly enjoyed watching them.

i just wish it would come back with the original writers etc. altho it would probably be completly dumbed down for todays kids. sigh*

  • This is the best T.V. Show ever made....Period

  • Well warmonger was probably hot for Skullmaster either way

  • I am...speechless... i liked it... A LOT.. i cant believe they did it all

The destined deads part was awesome but i thought it would let me something to wish for at the end...

I loved it, a think its complete i just... for me it WAS the perfect end jaja I am so happy i remember this series

(And,OF COURSE max should have died countless times by now,you dont need to restrain yourself from this episode. Its a cartoon after all )

thanx for uploading this i had my childhood wish fullfilled

  • growing up i loved mighty max and i would like to thank arsenal1508 for putting these up. as for them making a movie i would be against that unless they got the original writers otherwise it would end up like todays cartoons which are heaping piles of steamy crap.

  • amen to that!

  • Spoiler:

You should probably kill the good guy being held by your henchman *before* killing the henchman for no reason, and certainly before starting your extremely-tamper-vulnerable Final Plan, and definitely shouldn't just lose interest in shooting at the good guy when he's semi-passed out against a rock, in full view, with no defenses.

In a show with on-screen main character deaths, this kind of poor thinking should make kids yell at their TVs even harder.

  • Maybe he was afraid something would happen to the cap if the capbearer were dead, and ruin his plans for world domination.

  • But he tried to kill Max before using the hat!

I WON'T BUDGE AN INCH ON THIS VITAL ISSUE.

  • Yes, but once he thought it was too late to stop him, and knew Max's friends were unable to help him, he got cocky, and he also probably saw the risk to the cap if he killed the capbearer to be more worthy of consideration once he actually had it in his grasp and had plans for it.
