I loved New York! IT was amazing, the only bad thing was we got ripped off with the Empire State Building, the ticket seller charged us an extra $30 to use an "express" lift to go straight to the top, which was B.S!

New York looks great but London will always be my favourite, maybe because i'm British. A combination of NY and London would be immense - New Yorks skyline and intensity mixed with Londons history and style. I like London because of the fact it has survived the great fires, the plague, civil war, the blitz and terrorism. I wish we had an American skyline though, New Yorks and Chicago's skylines are breathetaking, especially the older buildings! I hope to visit NY soon. Can't wait!

I visited New York once. It was hot and smoggy. The pavements were overcrowded with angry people. I was warned not to travel on the subway. The streets were filthy & crammed with homeless. All the shops are very expensive and full of cheap rubbish. The restaurants are dirty & the food is tasteless. The hotdogs are disgusting & taste of vomit. My expensive hotel was infested with bedbugs. I refused to tip & was thrown out of 5 restaurants. I was mugged 3 times. I am never going back.

@RadicalCoolDude Better architecture, culture history, shopping etc, Even a better club/party social scene. People party and socialise much more often in London, and the pubs, bars and restaurants are world class. It is MUCH cleaner than NYC, and is right on europes doorstep, you can get a 200+mph train through the channel tunnel from London to anywhere in europe, as oppose to america's shit transportation, and there is no where in the US like Paris or Rome.

I visited New York in July - it was a nightmare. My hotel cost £300 a night. My bed was infested with bugs. I couldn't sleep due to the traffic noise. I was mugged 3 times. I was shouted at by a waiter because I refused to tip. The weather was unbearably hot and smoggy. The streets were overcrowded and everything was incredibly expensive. I am never going back.
I live in Czech republic. You don't know Czech republic? It doesn't suprise me. It's a small state in Central Europe. New York is actually almost as big as Czech republic ... NY is so far away. And there is nothing I wish more than to live in New York or just to go there for a few days. You New Yorkers are so lucky .. and maybe you don't even realize that, but you are. What a city, I just got back from New York and it seems like I just woke up from a magical dream. Amidst the hustle and bustle and the bright lights of a city that never sleeps, you see some extraordinary people. Walk around the streets and you see no judging eyes, just a world full of people of all kinds of cultures, proud of their own identity, respectful of one another's. I'll be back.

@15264897 honestly I have no idea what a bartender's wage is like, but what I do know is that the cost of living in New York is pretty damn high. I was there for 8 days and lost my 7-day subway pass halfway through the trip, so I had to buy a single-ride ticket for every ride for the rest of the trip, it cost me $2.50 each time. Food is pretty expensive too. It takes a lot to survive in this great city, it's really competitive even for hobos. But if it's your dream then why not go for it?

new york: it has some of the cockiest peopple on earth, you make one worng move in the city and you stick out like a soure thumb, everythings over priced, its allways loud and busy, and no matter what you do your always doing something wrong. in spite of this its one of my favourite cities of all time and i hope to one day move there and addapt to the way new yorkers live and just have a great time in an amazing place

I’m sorry but I have NO RESPECT for the New Yorkers. My daughter worked as a dancer & escort over there when she was 17-19YO & the things she was asked to do were DISGUSTING.
Once, she & two female colleagues got a corporate job, accompanying 3 male executives on a business trip. Her client made her ‘change his nappy’ in his hotel room, screaming & throwing bottles at her while she wiped his dirty backside & genitals. What a city, I just got back from New York and it seems like I just woke up from a magical dream. Amidst the hustle and bustle and the bright lights of a city that never sleeps, you see some extraordinary people. Walk around the streets and you see no judging eyes, just a world full of people of all kinds of cultures, proud of their own identity, respectful of one another's. I'll be back.

@asdfkie I really want to go there next year! My plan is to live and work out there for a few months bar tending, as that is what I do in England and I really enjoy it. Do you think I could survive out there on a bar tenders wage? What advice do you have?

@15264897 honestly I have no idea what a bartender's wage is like, but what I do know is that the cost of living in New York is pretty damn high. I was there for 8 days and lost my 7-day subway pass halfway through the trip, so I had to buy a single-ride ticket for every ride for the rest of the trip, it cost me $2.50 each time. Food is pretty expensive too. It takes a lot to survive in this great city, it's really competitive even for hobos. But if it's your dream then why not go for it?
